Thankyou Marie Spaulding for such an indepth tutorial even though I am new to felting I feel ready to try my hand at wet felting thanks to you. Time to try..
How exactly do you flip over your design to rub the other side? Do you peel it off the backing with a palette knife or something and flip it over, or do you turn the whole thing over and rub it through the backing?
no tools required. You can gently pick up the wool piece and turn it over. If that is challenging, lay down a piece of mesh, then your dry fiber, then another piece of mesh, then wet felt. You find that the mesh on both sides enables you to handle your project easily.
Hi Aslhey, for the main and the tail, I recommend pulling off a length of fiber 2x as long as desired, folding it in half, and then needle felting the folded part into the body.
A little while ago I did some pre felting which Ive been storing, Is it possible to carry on using this and make it into a handbag, or should I have done it with resist, which is easiest.Thank you so much for all your help
Hi Carole, it is difficult to speculate. For a handbag, we would felt over a resist. Once a prefelt is begun, you can felt it further, but to shape it into something seamless without a mold (such as a hat block) may prove challenging depending on how much it is felted, how thick it is, whether the edges can be feathered.... a lot of unknowns without seeing/touching it.
Hi. I ordered a type of yarn/ fur called bamboo top. I wanted to make a mane and tail for a pony plush out of it. I wanna keep it looking long and flowing but it pulls apart very easy. Do u have any suggestions? I'd really appreciate any advice you have.
Very helpful for a beginner, thank you! I help run a small craft group for women, and I'm always looking for inpsiration for simple projects like these. We do lots of outreach work, and it's wonderful when our participants can make something like this to take away with them. Any further suggestions for easy felting projects would be greatly appreciated :-)
Thank you so much, Anne Margaret and we agree! We do have lots of tutorials on our channel added over the last year, look under our playlists for Needle Felting Tutorials and Wet Felting Tutorials. We often show them on our weekly Live broadcast called WOOLY WEDNESDAY, so the format may seem long, but we are working to edit them down a bit and upload "shorter" versions of some of them :)
Hi Mandy -- not sure how I missed this post. You can try our felting slippers kit to learn how to felt over a resist of just about any shape...but we are working on one for this fall! You can make some really fun things! :)
I was easily taught the steps to a great finish! 🥰

We are so glad to hear it, Jodie! Thank you!!
I loved this youtube demo. i only have 1 hand to use so i can not do the 2 palming method. is there an adaptive way to do this? Thanks!
Hi Cass! Palming is not required, but you can use the table or super bubble to provide resistance on the opposite side :)
@@LivingFelt excellent thanks so much!
I just got mine so excited
We look forward to seeing your finished felt, Mandy! You can share on our fb page or email us directly :)

Should I do this before applying to a wire armature?
Hi Sarah...what is the wire for?
Do you have a kit for mens felted hat needlefelting or wetfelting thank you
Do you have to stitch the edges? Also, what kind of foam should you felt on?
Can I use baking soda soap made with olive oil?
Try... just try a small sample piece :)
