    Caitlin, if you want to add some extra "kick" to the polish on this material. Take it to Zam on a muslin buff after you finish the polish. I owned the mine for about 20 years ago and have cut this stone for over 40 years.

      What a great suggestion, Rick! I’ll have to give it a try! I just hate trying to get all the compound crud out of some of the tiny spaces on the stone afterwards lol

    Wow I’ve never heard of bubble opal except in Playing Elden Ring The bubble tear opal talisman..

      Oh that’s neat, I had to look it up and it kinda has a similar look! And you’re right, this kind of hyalite bubble opal hasn’t been pushed into the market, but I think it deserves more attention because of how awesome it is! 😊

    Fascinating material! Does it fluoresce like mad under SW UV like most hyalite?

      It’s one of the only hyalites that doesn’t fluoresce, but it’s the only hyalite that has this interesting white chatoyance which is what makes it so cool!

      Hyalite opal is found in many places, but from what I’ve been told, this specific kind of chatoyant hyalite is only found in Milford, Utah.
