I would highly recommend checking out the Shadow 2 Compact in person… I shot it and handled it last weekend, and was incredibly impressed. The trigger is far better than even my Cajunized P-01, and it shoot beautifully…

No, actually I do not. The tuned trigger on my CZ P-01 is better than the S2C, and I do not care for the silly optic arrangement they set up. There is no provision for a true rear sight and the plates that people use on them that incorporate a rear sight will not allow for zeroing the irons independently of the optic. Its a nice range toy for gun sport, but not for "street work".

The Shadow 2 Compact with aluminum frame is lighter and can be used in IDPA Competition which has a 43 oz weight maximum. Glad to see you still believe in shotgun stocks. Thanks for another informative RUclips upload !

The issue I have with the Shadow 2 compact is they do not make it available with the provision of back up sights. You either go irons or optics...not both. And both are needed on a street gun IMHO.

I’ve never owned a perfect pistol yet it always seems to be something I would change no matter the platform. I own the shadow 2 compact the lighter frame is a huge benefit what CZ should have done on this gun is put a decent safety that’s usable, a better trigger profile that doesn’t pinch your finger on the reset and G-10 grips that aren’t slippery. Fortunately these parts can be changed out I’ve already replaced my trigger to a better straighter profile and the safety that’s extended now I’m waiting on LOK to make the G-10 grips that should be out soon. That will be the best CZ carry gun in my opinion.
Update: LOK grips just released thin or palm swell Bogies for the compact shadow 2.

That's my dream gun ❤ I've never understood why manufacturers don't understand the grip is the only thing that matters for concealment. Ps you were talking about sending it out for grip checkering, you can actually get a 'checkering file' for about 30 bucks and do it yourself. I did it on my 1911, it's hard to get started but easy enough after that

Look up the cz 40p. In my understanding it was 'extra' slides left over from the Colt collaboration that resulted in the cz 40b essentially reworked and mated to the P-01 frame. They are hard to find now, but are a similar form factor to what you created.

Ive always prefered hybrid style pustols with Compact Optics Ready slide with full size fram . Like the Shadow Systems XR920. I also love 4.25 Commander 2011 with full size frame . I wish CZ Would of made P01 Slide on aluminum full size frame that was optics ready , Decocker , and deep triggerguard / beavertail undercut. I would also like it to maintain F.P.B..
To me this would be the ultimate do all be all CZ75

CZ Shadow 2 series guns already has de-cocker built in, but people in America don’t understand European gun design logic. And large majority of the people here don’t understand guns at all. They only know and understand 1911 series of pistols. They put double stack magazine in it and call it 2011. 😂

Gabe, your audio has been fine on all the videos I've watched of yours.
Its a shame you can't mate the P-01 slide up to the 75 frame - what is the actual hang up there, the locking block isn't right, or what?
Personally I don't get the mullet guns. I know they've been popular long before the Glock 19X, but a compact slide with a full frame just doesn't make any damn sense to me, because as you point out - the butt is where concealment becomes an issue, and shorter barrel / lighter slide guns have snappier recoil than full length slides and barrel do,
Maybe because I'm kind of large - 6'4" I don't get it. I carry a Glock 34 at work (school security monkey) in a Safariland level 3 holster with their standard mid drop. I don't get the gun jamming into my side, or anything like that, so the notion of a short muzzle being somehow better just doesn't make sense to me. In a uniform with a duty belt I want the biggest damn gun that is the easiest to shoot I can get. If I could do it, I'd run my G34 slide on a G19 frame for off duty concealed carry because of how easy the 34 shoots. I experimented with swapping locking blocks between my 17 (same frame and locking block as the 34) and my 19 and it still did not work. Some of the other geometry on the compact Glocks is different, I guess.
If Safariland made a level three holster for a CZ-75 or a modern Beretta 92 I'd rather have those than the Glock, but Safariland has abandoned double action pistols except for the Sig 22x's - for now. Seems a matter of time until those get dropped off and its just striker fired Glocks, SW, FN, and Sig 320's. They don't even seem to make a level 3 holster for Springfield's new hotness - only a level 1 ALS holster.

I am not a big CZ fan, although I do feel without a doubt that they make some great guns. The biggest reason that I do not own several is that they primarily produce DA/SA guns and I am a SAO fan. I do have a CZ75 TSO that I feel is a great gun, but definitely not a carry peace. If they produce a 4" or less light weight metal frame SAO that is MRD ready, they will have my attention.

In the real world these full sized pistols are too big, and too heavy. I carried many miles of traveling the Glacier National Park trails with a P365XL upper with a Holosun 507K optic with a 4.2" True Precision SS threaded barrel on a P365 Wilson Combat lower with a 10 rd. mag carrying 12+1 rounds of 147 gr. Hard cast ammo with the Magguts spring & follower at the 3:30 IWB in a Clinger 2 clip holster with comfort pad. Small, light-weight, concealable. I would not want to carry anything heavier no matter how much better it shot, & in reality, wouldn't shoot that much better anyway. I shoot this pistol during IDPA & ASI matches & shoot quite accurately with it. Downside is that the Sig P365 series can't go more than a couple of thousand rounds before they break down and have to be sent back to Sig for repair. I have 2 P365 series pistols and they routinely know the way back to the Sig repair shop.
