Pronouns are used to refer someone in the third person. Other people don’t get to dictate what words I use. Especially when I’m not even talking to them. Freedom of speech means I get to choose my own words.

Protecting free speech is to protect something that you do not agree with. People need to understand that if you take someone else’s free speech away, it means that yours will be taken away as well. What free speech doesn’t cover is you’ll still be held accountable for what you say. It means they can’t silence you for speaking what you believe. You won’t be arrested for what you say. You still can lose your job if you say something stupid.
The policing of speech on social media is absolutely ridiculous. People should be able to speak their mind. It doesn’t matter whether you agree with them or not. A thing that a lot of people don’t seem to understand.

What you are missing is the reaction of the board to his address. He starts out relatively polite considering what they are exposing minors to. Its only when the board starts trying to shut him down, moderate him, and ignore him does he push it to the next level. Frankly I think every school board pushing this stuff needs arrested for grooming minors. Parents need to get real familiar with their citizen's arrest laws in their state to force the issue.

The father's attitude was not a problem when you consider how insane the counterarguments are. The title 9 lady is a perfect example. I totally get why he was fed up with it. I think his problem was a lot of pent up frustration on the subject mixed with some bad communication skills. It is hard to be polite if you have had enough of the constant attacks from the activists. It is up to the alternative lifestyle people to address this because if not they will be the ones who suffer all the hate these activist loons have been stoking. Just moved to a new state. When I applied for my license there were 3 choices for sex; male, female and other. I'm 60+ and that threw me for a loop. As far as restrooms go have boys, girls and single use unisex bathrooms. Problem solved.

This is a common leftist way of using words as a tactic. They add modifiers. This is why they say things like "my/your/their truth", because they know what the actual truth is, but it doesn't align with what they want as an outcome. Or "social justice" instead of just "justice". Using these modifiers allows them to bring emotion into the conversation where it otherwise wouldn't exist. If you tell someone that they are wrong, they could tell you that you are challenging "their truth". This makes it personal and justifies their outrage.

HOWEVER, this IS a title 9 issue. The question we're asking is "What qualifies as sex-based discrimination? Girls have to be allowed to play football. Boys have to be allowed to play Volleyball. Where do restrooms, AND A STUDENTS PERSONAL RESTROOM COMFORT AND FEELINGS OF SAFETY, which students HAVE brought up themselves, fall under title 9 protections?" I lean toward they don't, but society as a whole is also leaning that public restrooms must be somewhat gender neutral. Do we tell our kids something different? Do we tell everyone that the only thing that matters is between their legs?
We decided when we were young that we want the answers to these questions. We didn't have a voice to ask them. Our children don't have a voice to ask them.
You know... maybe that's the answer... maybe, JUST MAYBE, we should find a way to give a voice to young people, and see what they actually want for themselves right now. Maybe we should encourage students to hold their own rallies and events, pro or con, whatever subject, if it effects them strongly enough to want to be heard, maybe we should be teaching our kids to take hold of their own voices.

I can see where this father is coming from because I'm there too. The past couple of decades have been ones of appeasement. It's important to note there are exceptions, like the one I just stated, which include bathrooms provided they comparable, and athletics provided there is equal opportunity to access the school's athletic program as a whole, among a few other things such as the nature of the sport. There is also a note about if the separation causes "more than de minimis harm".

in Pennsylvania , as of AUG 2024 all schools (elem to high) , bathrooms and locker rooms are required to allow chosen gender . perhaps his can be overturned .
The problem with parents teaching sex ed and not the school is how you can get kids beleaving they can get pregnant by just kissing or some other lie because the parent does not want to talk to their kids about it. That can be a big problem when girls hit puberty at 12 years old and the parents don't want to talk about it because that is my little girl. That how you end up with unwanted teenage pregnancy.
The reproductive system and how it works can be taught as anatomy, a hard science. It would be the same with disease transmission. The way a person views themselves is psychology, a soft science. We should teach hard sciences and leave soft sciences to the colleges.

I think both deserve freedoms equally and to be protected under the law freedom is part of America so is expression of individuality. Peoples freedoms shouldn’t infringe on theirs rights or freedoms equally for both in videos. I don’t care what people do with their bodies people can be what they want to be ITS 🇺🇸 AMERICA FOR A REASON.
I use they/them most of the time just to cover my bases (which is my personal choice and I wouldn't expect anyone else to do this just because I do), but to expect people to learn all of the pronouns is ridiculous. There are just so many that I feel like they/them should be sufficient to cover everyone.
I have no issues with people learning about gay people. And for kids to learn about its ok to like the same sex. i know a few lovely gay couples. I have no problems with kids learning about how it's ok to be part of the LGBT community, its ok to be straight. But keep it age appropriate. I do believe the father got to emotional. I think there should male, female, trans bathrooms. That way the non trans will feel safer.
