It’s the 23rd of January, 2024. And our beloved Charles Osgood has left us at age 91. Thank you sir, for every Sunday morning you were with us on this wonderful program. HAIL! And farewell… 🌞
no because i’d never heard of this guy but watched his memorial broadcast and now i’ve fallen in a rabbit hole, rip Mr. Osgood. you are forever part of news broadcasting history
RIP Charles Osgood (1933-2024). Second in line with Charles Kuralt, one of the blessed hosts of _CBS News Sunday Morning._ The most loved one as well, especially with his undeniable love of bowties. He will truly be missed, but never forgotten.
After Charles Kuralt's passing, I worried about this show's future. My fears were unfounded. Thank you, Mr. Osgood. You've been a class act for a classic piece of television history.
I welled up with tears as he sang. Charles, I will miss you, I have memories as a young girl growing up watching Barney first on PBS then watching you, since I grew up without cable for most of my childhood. But as I grew older I continued to watch with my cup of coffee in hand every Sunday, and up until now on youtube. I will miss you, sad day:(
I listened to Mr. Charles Osgood on Sunday Morning when I left home and for many years until his last show here. His countless messages inspired me through the years of navigating this life and finding joy wherever I go. Thank you, Mr. Osgood. May your journey in this vast universe be celebrated and cherished. Thank you for your spirit. Rest in joy and love. To his family and the communities he served, my deepest respects. 🙏🫶✨
Charles, I don't know how you were able to hold that song together. I never cry, but you had me cryin'. Thanks so much for all the Sunday mornings that we shared for so many years. I'll keep watchin', all the while hoping you are enjoying your deserved retirement. Thanks for so many years of good television viewing. Love, love, love.
This man most superbly continued what Charles Kuralt started. He told of and narrated OUR stories with the excitement and reverence that Mr. Kuralt did. Sunday Morning won’t be the same without Charles Osgood.
Over the years I have ALWAYS enjoyed "until then, I'll SEE you on the radio...." I smile EVERY TIME....love you Mr. Osgood and Charles Kuralt was correct in commenting that YOU SIR could indeed fill his shoes any day of the week.....Cheers All
I ❤️ You *Charles*! Thank you for being you! You have shined brighter than the sun in my heart every Sunday for longer than I can remember! Many blessings to you always and all ways! 💋 *You are a Beautiful Soul*
Admittedly I've missed episodes but I can honestly say that I've been a loyal fan for everyone of those 22 years. Thank you Mr. Osgood for giving us the pleasure of enjoying your soothing voice and comforting manner. Wishing you nothing but sunshine and bowties for many years to come. See you on the radio!
I will miss you, Mr. Osgood! I've been in this country for 20 years and will never forget, when my old neighbor introduced me your show. I've been watching ever since - and love you. I must tell you, that I understand your English easy-peasy (I am a naturalized citizen) (I can NOT understand Lee Cowan, however nice man he is) We European born people love the way you're dressed: your beautiful lil' bow ties and suits. You brightened up all Sunday Mornings! I will always love you - Have a wonderful time!
Farewell, my friends, farewell and hail; I'm off to seek the holy grail; I cannot tell you why; remember, please when I am gone, 'twas aspiration led me on; tiddly-widdly-toodle-oo, all I want is to stay with you, but here I go. goodbye.'
A joy to watch Charles. For decades...So much fun and so many learning experiences. It was great to know you Charles via TV on "on the radio." Thank you very much. Contributed to my life...I'll turn 80 in a few years.
Mr. Osgood, you are truly one of a kind. You will be truly missed. Your rich, iconic voice, stage presence, introductions, storytelling, and iconic bowtie will be truly missed. Peaceful journey Mr. Osgood.
Thank you Mr.Osgood for the elegance and intelligence you brought to the program. I still remember when you played the piano and sang about your daughters wedding. God bless you in your retirement and I'll see you on the radio :)
I LOVE CBS Sunday Morning, and Chas Osgood is partially why . Thank you Good Sir, fantastic show; very informative, diverse, & entertaining . Wish you the very best, thank you for all you've given...we'll see you on the radio!
Charles Osgood is my great uncle. He married Jean Crafton--my mother's aunt. I just saw this video, and it's heartwarming seeing then support from everyone
Yes, we will all miss seeing Charles on Sunday mornings, but I'm getting married on Oct 8th 2016 and will be using the Morning Trumpet Fanfare song for my entry..the song lives on..best of luck Charles Osgood. Cheers!
(tears) You have been the best part of my Sunday mornings. You will be missed tremendously. I pray that your latter will be greater. God bless you, kind Sir.
Despite the fact that it's too late to change your mind, I wanted you to know that not being able to try makes me as sad as not being able to "spend time" with you. Thank you for your wonderful work over the years. You ARE SORELY missed!
WILL MISS THE CAPTAIN AT THE HELM OF THE FINEST NEWS PROGRAM ON TV......ALWAYS BACK TO THE PIANO THEN CHARLES, AS WE PIANO PLAYERS KNOW WE CAN ALWAYS CHASE THE ELUSIVE PIANO PERFECTION.........
Thank you for 22 great years. Enjoy your well earned retirement. CBS Sunday Morning will not be the same, but it will be in good hands of the new host. Chances are it's Lee Cowan or Jane Pauley.
No offense to her, but this is supposed to be a nice harmless old man with a grandpa voice not really a fifty year old woman...and I dont particularly care for her to host until 2038

I can't accept this, I would watch Sunday morning with my dad every week. CBS Sunday morning was my childhood
I know! I started watching with my father when Charles Kuralt was host. Which Charles will be next?
If Charlie Rose was about 10 years younger and wasn't hosting CBS This Morning, Maybe?
I watched with my dad as well.

Charles Kuralt did the show for 15 years and Charles Osgood for 22 years I don't know who will be as good as those two did.

The show will never be the same
William Martin ...without Mr. Osgood.

This is probably Charles osgood's last goodbye to Sunday morning
And so, with Jane Pauley taking the helm, here begins something new.
I started watching when Charles Kuralt was host and Charles Osgood was the best man to take on hosting the show. Who will be the next Charles?
We love you Charles! 🙏🏾
Thank you, Charles
What an icon.
Class act all around!!!
We miss you, Mr. Osgood ❤
No! I would so take that job! I will miss you Charles!
This made me cry
He was like another Fred Rogers. :'(
Thank you for 22 great years. Enjoy your well earned retirement. CBS Sunday Morning will not be the same, but it will be in good hands of the new host. Chances are it's Lee Cowan or Jane Pauley.
Well, with the later taking the helm, CBS Sunday Morning began anew.
For me Charles Osgood was the Charles Kuralt
For me a gen z kids of the 2000s and 2010s.
You'll be missed.
R.I.P. Charles 😢
😢 So long.
this year should have been 28 years
The new host will probably be some hipster so CBS can usher in a new, modern audience.
The New Anchor is Jane Pauley.
Jane Pauley is definitely no hipster.

This is Charles osgood's last Sunday morning show
I bet his retirement package is similar to what one would find in Fort Knox!
Awwwww! :'(
so long Charles Osgood your fortune has yet to come
WOW!!! He's not staying till the election is over or the beginning of the new year? Sigh, you'll be miss Charles.
noooooooooo
No offense to her, but this is supposed to be a nice harmless old man with a grandpa voice not really a fifty year old woman...and I dont particularly care for her to host until 2038
His voice is faltering.....hate to see you go, but enjoy your retirement.
I stopped watching Sunday morning when Charles left. It will never be the same. Liberal nonsense and poor journalism.
