@@user-pd6ev9gb7j He could have played exactly what Nelson said would be the best way? Taking the rook and all? With that in mind that does look like a mouseslip.
GG's Nelson! It's sad that people often cheat to win, but they don't realize that they don't improve and all they want is temporary happiness that they will go for it. I remember playing in a tournament (think it was the US open), I was versing someone around 1700. Right out of the opening and into the middle game, I already felt that something was off. Close to every move played by the 1700 was a top engine move. This guy was very sneaky in trying to use his phone to use an engine. My mom was watching from afar and saw my suspicious face (we made eye contact), and she then went after the tournament director to let him know. My opponent I think stopped using his phone, went back and played the WORST move (like I wanted to put a thousand questions marks for that move), and then I went on to win. Then my opponent tried to redeem myself saying I could have played so and so when all he did was regurgitate an engine line. I literally gave him the death stare lol before setting up the pieces. Fun times.
I truly admire the analysis that you provide with each of your videos!!! It really helps me out, and I’m sure I can speak for a lot of other players here as well
This happens a lot, i have played hundreds of cheats and often they completely crush you then lose the game from a winning position because they turn off their engine so that they think they can make a few mistakes to make it look like non-engine gameplay, but they're just a 400 elo and don't actually know how to finish the line.
It looks more like he mousedropped the rook after one square, because Rab8 is pretty much nonsensical and it was on the track to the correct move Raxe8.
Looks like a perfect mouseslip to me.. no way someone who uses an engine above 2000 would fail to see that checkmate if you give them 5 seconds. Gg nonetheless! Glad he got what he deserved.
I’ve never understood cheating. There can’t be any satisfaction in effectively being a front man for stockfish. So why play at all? Surely snakes and ladders would be more suitable. Satisfying win though Nelson!
It depends. Occasionally using an aimbot in first person shooters and similar games can be quite entertaining. But I don't really see how it can be entertaining in chess.
This great win by Nelson tells much about the tactics at least worse cheaters do. You would expect that using engine would take you on the top of the ladder, but eventually they get caught. This los... user tried to cheat in Chess and cheat CC to believe he/she is not a cheater, and failed in both.
Is it possible he was copying a bot rather than pure stockfish and the bot is designed to make the odd bad move? I play bots - party because I am too chicken about getting screwed over.
Most likely they were about to take the rook at e8 and sliped/missclicked. It is very unlikely they turned off the engine. It was a funny thing that even didn't manage to win with the engine on because they messed up again.
How good an AI can you beat with the following self-imposed rule: You must move the same piece you moved on your previous turn, unless it no longer exists or it has no legal move?
I've had a few points back from cheaters over the years and i never understood the point of cheating, deep down you know your not even playing lol, even being helped one move means you never earned the win, might as well just watch the games, it only wastes your time and you'll always know the win was not genuine, just a participation trophy lol
Meanwhile, silly me would have played Rxb8 to try to deflect the g8 Rook, completely overlooking the power of the pin. But that's one reason (of many) why I'm not an NM (or any title, for that matter).
Probably stopped cheating once the eval showed he was clearly winning. Which also gave him away. Few people playing these complex tactics would overlook that.
My guess is actually mouse slip. He was indeed suppose to play his rook laterally but mouse slip had him make a horrible move. If this is the case he very well may have had stockfish turned on and still using it when he lost which is even more hilarious. Use stockfish all game and still lose! Lmao
I get that at the ending it seemed totally winning for black so he probably turned off stockfish. But then... how did he get caught for cheating this game? He played one brilliant move, but even low-level players can find the right moves if only by chance.
I would never want to accuse a player of cheating if I could not prove it beyond a shadow of a reasonable doubt . Remember chess is like a fraternity and we are all in it together . Maybe he or she moved compulsively ( used to playing speed chess ) and then subsequently tilted . One should consider that maybe he or she ended up crying himself or herself to sleep . I saw you play a game where opponent gave up queen on second move and you went on to lose . So I would say emphatically " yes " chess is like that and perhaps that is why we are all so addicted or possibly clinically obsessive/ compulsive .
Not sure I believe this person cheated. They could’ve just blundered at the end I’ve done that many times in games I was winning by a large margin 😂 In addition, my account was closed and I wasn’t cheating and have no explanation as to why it was closed. The only thing I can think is I was reported falsely for violating language. The reason I assume this is because in a previous game I beat a player and they wrote to me that they hoped I died from leukemia. I replied back to them with “why?” and the next day when I played a game in which I was only in the opening less than 10 moves were played it said the account was offline. Initially, I thought it was an internet issue but when I tried to get back in 30 mins later it said my account was closed???
Huge like. Indeed, it was flagrant cheating. Missing mate in one, making instant moves that require a calculation of five moves ahead. It was very, very obvious. What's more, those who play blitz games till mate and have a rating of 2000+ are mostly cheaters. That's because at that level people see a mate that's coming in a few moves and resign (stalemate themes arise very rarely at decent levels). I'd say he was probably less than 1000 player. That's because even if he missed the mate, moving the rook to protect the pawn was really utter stupidity. The bad thing is there are too many of them. And they cheat all the way to 3000. They cheat at all levels. As an afterthought, you probably should not have mated him right away, you could have played Rook takes b8 to show him how stupid he is but that's pointless. There's nothing you can do about those cheaters. It's pointless to show or explain anything to them anyway.
They're just people, chill out. Sure they're pathetic, but they might actually be good people who for some reason or other decided to cheat. Or they're kids or something. But one thing's for certain, they're not cut out for competition.
I thought the same thing when he started by saying the guy moved his pawns quickly, but the point is the pawn move looks like a really bad move on the surface but is a really good move when you look a few steps in. Moving quickly means the player didn't have enough time to think about the board position to see how this apparent bad move was actually a good one. He was just reading the moves and doing them.
That doesn't sound like he cheated at all u can't win against stockfish so easily unless if you where both using an engine coze these moves which you are claiming to be stockfish are very very poor and saying that stockfish didn't see mate in 1 after play rook to b8 Is absolutely stupid for stockfish
