Thank you
I watched the whole video, but you're awesome for the timestamp.
He, the opponent, is definitely not a subscriber, so why wouldn't we suggest this channel to him?
@23:10: How to solve the problem, if black plays d7-d6 and Not the rook pawn ?
I‘ve got it. You just take the queen and win finally the bishop.. great
The casual "my account is getting banned guys," is what makes you a top tier chesstuber
exactly why i have subscribed
what weird is the guy he playing. was playing interesting with that king move
Oh No! Anyway
GothamChess, in his Vienna course: You will never face these Stockfish moves in a real game, I assure you
Nelson, first game of symmetrical Vienna: Faces those exact moves lol
Yeah he was cheating. I play this line all the time as White and it's bad for black, so why would he learn the theory in a losing line?
@@Heroball299 Because he's 1300 and your average 1300 opponent won't know how to deal with it and thinks its hilarious when it works. He also blitzed out moves, despite playing a rapid game -- as a player he probably just likes quick wins through intimidation and got pissed when Nelson took the time to think about his moved. Not exactly a "serious" player here.
@@Heroball299what's your elo
@@Heroball299 probably, but people do prepare gambit lines esp. in that rating range
oftentimes you can outbook the opponent and win out of the opening with these lines, although i think that effort is perhaps misplaced when you could learn more sensible lines and you're still sub-1800
@@SF2K01 That doesn't make any sense, you probably misunderstood the situation - he is not the one attacking with a trap or anything, he is just defending suspiciously well after a blunder in his opening.
There is nothing hilarious about surviving an attack with just a minor disadvantage instead of losing, nor there is any intimidation done by this.
And as Heroball299 mentions - why would a 1300 learn theory on how to survive after making a mistake in his Vienna opening instead of not doing the mistake in the opening? It is not impossible, but fairly unlikely
It did occur to me that a 1300 rated account with a 100% win rate might seem a tad suspicious lol
ya think 😂
23:10 Clicking on a 10-minute game then sending sleepy emojis when your opponent uses their time as they're supposed to is just brainless. Seriously wonder about some people.
Yes! It has happened to me so many times just because im a slow player.
Somebody once threatened to report me for playing too fast and winning on time in a 3 minute game
I always tell them to go play bullet if they only need 1 minute to play 20 moves
He's a terrorist from a colony that bit the hands that saved them.. what do you expect??
Even though opponents get their elo refunded, it’s understandable how frustrating it can be to play against a 2000 player
My first OTB rated game was against a USCF 2100. It isn't frustrating, it's intimidating. That same day I saw a scholastic player beat a 1900 player who decided to play the grob (this was back when it was a new, not a meme opening), se sometimes you have a chance.
I personall would welcome the experience and learning opportunity
Only for a soreloser
I can't believe we haven't ran into a full blown cheater yet.
Well we kinda did, Nelson is the "cheater" lmao.
@@mariuszpudzianowski8400 A NM playing under a 1300 elo account is cheating if the opponent isn't aware of what is going on. In order to play these games ethically, Nelson really needs to find opponents who agree to the terms of the game, mainly that he is actually very highly rated and he is doing this to educate his audience.
The form of cheating is called ratings manipulation. Constantly restarting a new account so that you can play easy opponents is against the fair play policy.
at 33:50 Nelson addresses the topic and the most likely scenario is that the opponent agreed to play these types of games but for whatever reason isn't aware that this particular game is one of them. The opponent will get his points back because Nelson's account is configured such that it doesn't hurt the ratings of his opponents.
He has a "Special" account, his opponents get their points back.

Hard to cheat when you're doing everything live, and your games are on the channel. But the guy can't know who he's up against. Someone nationally rated like Nelson likely does make a lot of very accurate moves.
Consider the country Nelson's opponent was from.... and you know....
@@hassanalihusseini1717casual discrimination
Also - that guy clearly studied Vienna quite deeply, but when turned out Nelson studied it too it's suddenly cheating. Doesn't even make sense, he should be happy that he got to play someone who knows this opening very well, it's great way to improve!
@@mariuszpudzianowski8400 man, id be salty too, he played great and still got brutalized. But thats chess for you
@@09f9 Ah. I love chess, but I have never been ranked. I catch about half the puzzles, but learning more all the time. I think about cheating as using an engine for your moves. Which is certainly not what Nelson is doing. Afterwards, but not before. But if there's something there about it, then sure. I wouldn't say it's cheating, but that's just my opinion.
That opponent should spend more time on thinking than on chatting and reporting, reporting can be done later.
You know you are very good at chess when you get reported for cheating without cheating
not really considering he is playing people nowhere near his level. it is kind of cheating since his opponents are all 1,000 rating points below his actual skill level.
hes literally smurfing against people 1000 elo below him
what Nelson is doing is against tos
@@Leonhartzcc is letting him do this and all the opponents will get their rating refunded
Titled players are allowed to play against low rated players because their elo gets refunded
I like the idea of streaming the live stream and then turning it into a video. Not only can it be interactive with chat which makes it a better learning opportunity but its still as a video so everyone has access to the rating climb if they did not make the live stream.
That’s Hikarus strategy and it works well.
Yeah, I love it. It's better than watching those 4-hour runs.
Nelson, there's no discussion. I've been without internet for like a week and gooosh darn it your videos are soooo chill EVEN WHEN PEOPLE THREATEN YOU WITH REPORTING you're like "oh yeah, but if the queen goes there..." ahahahaha seriously, it's so so nice to relax watching your videos.
I just recently discovered Levi's Gotham channel (yeah, real noobie here) but even his laughs can't compete with the relaxing serotonin levels of your videos. Big fan here honestly.
i also discovered levy but i will never betray nelson
Nelson>levy
Levy is unlikeable
@@PauIdenino Bruh he's a funny guy and his videos are pretty entertaining. But in terms of educational value Nelson is definitely no1 hands down
Saying they will report ain't bad. I had people call me slurs, threaten to kill me and other good stuff. Funny how that rarely happens on lichess, I guess less angsty kids and teens play there.
To that last person’s credit I’ve played someone clearly worlds better than their rating and I played one of my best games ever and it was extremely disheartening to lose. He played a strong game.
Plus if you don't know your playing an NM, when you see their profile with a 100% winrate, and every game at very high accuracys, it looks just like a cheater
I agree it could be disheartening to encounter a titled player in disguise although some would enjoy the challenge. I also agree that a 1300 with 20 straight wins at 90+% accuracy looks suspicious (pretty unlikely for titled players too imo, although maybe not against very low-rated opponents as here). What I don’t get is why you would accuse someone of cheating when you find they know more theory than you in what’s likely to be their main opening, especially as it’s a much-publicised line by the likes of GothamChess who only has 3 million subscribers many of whom are about 1300… The guy was well prepped in that line for sure but why be surprised when your similarly rated opponent, with the white pieces, is well-prepped too?
@@depagogd1426 It's very easy to know you are playing an NM (or a titled player of some sort, with a Speed Run account)! It very clearly says under the username:

bro in the thumbnail looked like the police was at his door for "cheating" on chess
I think the guy who accused you was cheating. He played a line that loses by force if it wasn't for one computer move, which he played. I always find it suspicious when that happens because it why would you spend time analysing a line that loses. I think he got scared after Nelson played the best move because he knew the computer evaluation was bad for him and he got scared.
It's called a novelty lots of strong players do this.
Nah bro, he played with 80 percent accuracy and position was equal when he started accusing Nelson of cheating, most likely he just studied the line
@@Idontwanttoexistt Yeah you're probably right
Except this guy wasn't a strong player.
A lot of players in this rating range will bait lazy Gotham subs who know up to Qf6 Nd5 but get spooked by h5 and Bd7. You can rack up a lot of easy wins (some were against me...)

29:55 It's mate in 4 after Bf7+, as after Kd8 Qxh8+, Ng8 is forced, then Bg5+ forces the other knight to block, then Qxg8 is checkmate. And if Kf8, Bg6+ and Kg8 is forced, and Qf7 is checkmate.

24:40 - From the move you said was a very good move, also their controlling zzz they sent, then the accusation of cheating tells me from a psychological point of view that the cheat claim is probably a projection on their part. They’re most likely cheating and that’s why they’re not 800 or below ELO.
Thing with clusters of certain characteristics is that they’re all very predictable.
Oh and a little tip. When you get the zzz’s wherever possible. Take a bit longer to think just to reverse their impatience or attempt to rush you into making mistakes plans. Even if they’re not cheating, if they’re doing things like trying to rush you, they will be prone to mistakes you can take advantage of as long as you don’t let them get into your head and remain the calm one.
Accusing of cheating even though the move his opponent played is literally theory, lol
i love this vid. thank you so much for walking us through your thinking process. great vid!
Your 25 principles to know video has helped me a lot. Just watching that I'm confident you're not a cheater, you have a very firm grasp of the game. Do you have a video about how to make more advanced plans? I'm stuck at around 1050 and my middlegame needs a lot of work

OMG THAT FACE ON THE THUMBNAIL THO

10:12 "There is a check, queen would block." As white I would rather take the queen with knight Nxd4 instead of blocking, or is there some tactics I am missing?
Think that Nelson meant after offering Knight trade, not looking at the position at the time.
I can't stand when people do this, when they just wait the clock out in effort to be annoying.
37:47 The pawn on h5 will go to h4 (black’s pawn near the queen and this is from white’s pov) making the queen trap impossible; If the opponent plays a move like at time stamp: 37:48 You can do bishop to e3 and fully trapped the queen and it can’t escape unless they do pawn to h4 which deflects the queen temporarily of that queen trap and forces the move of queen to f3 and then followed by bishop to e3.
Bce3 hangs b2
Getting called a cheater: >:(
Getting called a cheater in chess: 😁🔥🤩👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
He could not have realized from Peter patzer
I don't think it should be frustrating for a person play someone with a higher skill level. It's an opportunity for learning, and they get their rating points back. That opponent had the option to resign, and still would have gotten the points back. Getting upset about it is like getting upset when Stockfish beats you. Crying "cheater" is just wrong.
Y’all need to stop hatred!! Nelson is a good man so good and wise that he is even willing make lives and videos to help y’all do better!
🤦♂️ 😡
stop being a kid
I literally learned how to play chess watching this series from zero, but in 12:35 if instead of nf3 you started the attack with rxf3, and followed that up with nf3 after white took you with their rook, you would have a triple fork to the white’s king, queen, and the pawn.
It's not checkers - White doesn't have to recapture. Nxf3 is check, so it's more forcing.
The SunnyV2 thumbnail is amazing lol
Small tip from a 2200 who succesfully plays the vienna still:
In the third game, after 9. ...be7, best move after you let the engine run to depth 30 is actually Qf5, which is already +1 for white, but with the most logical response, there is already +3, you really should study that line!
What's depth 30
I can rarely get my engine to run beyond depth 22 lol
I always go to depth 35.
Interesting! Yes, I suspected that move was more accurate. Not surprised.
you're just great for putting a timestamp in the comments and saying where the title happens in the beginning.
i hope you reported him for being a crybaby
14:17 There’s a gamble here meaning you start with rook to f2 check and if the opponent takes then you take with the queen and have a rook vs knight endgame because after the king takes the queen you take the bishop that hanging after the trade you can win if he trades.
Liking this series, good lessons. Love that Caro Cann trap.
Yes, that line in Vienna is AMAZING! - black get overconfident thinking it's checkmate but white is actually much better. Qg4 forces to create a weakness (g6) or lose a pawn (DON"T take trapped rook, your queen can get trapped then or black can force queen trade) with huge attack for white, black Queen can get trapped. Plus it leads to absolutely crazy positions where both players can get mated by making just one mistake. Gotta love Vienna.
Of course someone would notice your 138 win streak and call mods this guy uses high tier bot to humiliate beginners
10:13 If the queen goes there then the knight takes and we all know that 2 rooks is has less power than 1 rook and a queen; 2 rooks < 1 rook + queen
Nelson was meaning after offering knight trade. Was looking for a tactic after, and couldn't find it.
Anybody will think you're cheating if they see that account
26:18 You could do bishop to b5 to kill the knight and threaten checkmate by doing queen to d8 but this is a risk because they could fall for this because the see their knight is endangered and will try to move it and by doing so we get checkmate or if they leave then it’s a mate in 3 but also a assisted mate by the opponent or checkmate in 2 if the knight moves and if it fails then, try to create a backup plan; The name of the tactic is called deflection.
I mean at 27:46 because it’s your turn.
He is not accusing - he noted facts, that you won games with 90% accuracy, that he is reporting - very nice things, and that probably you will be banned - probably everybody does.
"Technically, I am cheating, but this kind is allowed."
I think it would be a nice gesture for Chess Vibe to give the Betselelh a reward. He had no way of knowing he was on a speed run, he just knew something funny was going on.
The guy should have taken points off him for that atrocious profile photo
Nelsi, you ol' cheat you 😅😅😅
If someone looked up your record and the accuracy you play at, it does look like a cheater account. You are rated 1300 here yet your actual level in 2200.
It's not just the 100% win rate, it's playing opening theory very very slowly while you explain it to the audience! All the Levy subscribers just bang out those Vienna moves😂
Based on where he’s from, That whining and accusing and reporting sounds about right …
You are playing at a much lower elo than your real life one. He would not expect a 1300 to play like you. So he recognised the much stronger play.
The delay when you said he was looking at your previous games was probably him cheating
Cheater-Patzer
I was once accused of cheating when I was a 700 blitz and found a clever tactic
Yeah, I was once accused of cheating for finding a couple of advanced tactical moves quickly in the opening where I put my pieces on squares where my opponent could take them. That's a ridiculous accusation, since a 1880-ELO club player certainly can find a couple of good tactical moves on a good day.
I once had an opponent send me the Zzzzzs so after I meant him with 0.6 seconds left on my clock, I sent him some Zzzzzs back and said that's why I take my time :)
I've watched several games of Nelson's games in this series where he runs the Game Review after the game and is clearly sur[rised by opportunities he missed. This is not a cheater's M.O. I'm impressed by his calm composure when threatened in public to have his account closed down. I would be too rattled to think straight in a situation like that. -- On a different note, I just want to thank Nelson for describing his thought process so clearly at every step. I'm learning a lot from him.
you see the flag and you know who the cheater is...
Chess vibes said in the most straight face am * getting banned guys*thats a whole new level of disrespect
At 32:27 I was thinking you check with bishop, then if king moves to b6, bishop e3. The bishop looks free but if they take its forced mate. Feels like something a player in this elo could fall for idk.
I once gave up on chess because of cheaters. I lost to a cheater, rematched him , lost again, rematched a few more times. Then I was playing on tilt, lost 20 Games in a row and abandoned chess for half a year then I got refunded a lot of points because I actually played with 3 cheaters on my last week before giving up and I played one of them for 4 times because I kept rematching. After coming back to chess I got like 250 rating points in 1 month. and got refunded about 60 points. So now I'm higher than ever in my life.
that last game, betsalelh had so many threats by move 11
I get the frustration from the opponent. It's not just about ELO/Points, it's also about time. If I had enough time to play one rapid game, I would be kinda pissed that I ended up playing someone 1,000 points above me and I had zero chance of winning the game.
13:11 Wouldn't it be better to take first with the rook, and then with the knight?
No cause the white rook wouldn’t take the rook cause then that would allow a fork. When he took with the knight first, he won a rook and pawn for a knight while if you first took with the rook, you’d only win a pawn as they wouldn’t take back.
No
13:10 is it better to take the pawn with the rock, and after he takes the rock, you take with the knight in fork the queen?
Nah, white can just not take the rook. Taking with the knight is better because black _has_ to take back to avoid losing the queen, and you end up winning an exchange.
I can’t believe you would cheat, nelson ..
He didn't cheat

It's sad when you can be reported for being good at the game. But that's the drawbacks of being a Master with a smurf account I suppose.
those crybabies just don't stop do they, i have similar games where in i was confident enough to get to 2500 but they ruin it all for me
Part of me is sympathetic... obviously we know it's a speedrun so it seems crazy, but if I saw a 1300 with a track record like that, I'd have questions too!
But since he was also sending you sleepy emojis, he might just be a d*ck.
Winning 20+ games with 90+ accuracy in a row is only an achievement if the opponents are strong. Against 2000+ players probably cheating or Hikaru... Against 1000 and under players? Possibly human.

For a moment there I thought you were going to forget Qg4 even though you had a whole video about it. 😂 By the way GothamChess nicknamed this line in the Vienna the "copycat variation". I play it a lot myself, it's extremely effective.
must be so satisfying to actually get to spring that classic trap theme in the second game. Ham it up more!
lol ofc he probably saw your 138 winning steaks and got super suspicious XD
This opponent may have had the Gotham e4 course over the Vienna and you were playing all the best moves. That is probably why he accused you of cheating
If he had that course he wouldn’t be playing one of the worst lines for black.
@@Thekaiser4100 then he probably did not have the course.
speedrun accounts give points back if opponent loses - but do opponents keep winning points
You don't get free points- it's only a refund
In the game you were accused of cheating, would white bishop to b5 attacking knight be a good move, when the black queen went to d4?
It doesn't entirely surprise me. He is doing it for teaching purposes, but nonetheless he is clearly better than 1287 or so. Somebody who takes him on and gets a 2000+ opponent is likely to cry foul.
i just guessed that Nxe7 was not the best move because you were technically offering to trade while down one point in material

Hi, I analyzed the Vienna a lot and after Be7 at 28:18 There is s beautiful variant- Qg3 Nf6 Rf1 Nxe4 Nxe7!! Nxg3? Ng6+ Kg8 Bxf7+ Kh7 Ng5+ Kh6 Ne6+ Kh7 Ngf8+! Rxf7 Bg6+! Kxg6 Nxf8#
I never saw such a mate in the opening, this is why I like the Vienna so much
Question. At 6.33 left on your clock when you wanted to doble up pressure on his knight, why not knight to h4 proected by the queen?
In fairness, these guys are working hard to improve their rating and some op player comes along and bodies them, it can be a little frustrating
ne7 is wrong, 1. c3 qc5 2. b4 he must lose the queen of get mated on d5. Qf8 is a mistake. I play this line as white.
