Can you imagine? Being the Traveler, losing track of time like some immortal entities do. Coming back thinking it hasn’t been more than 20 years and then you encounter everything in ruins after centuries. Everyone and everything you knew is gone and you didn’t get the time to say goodbye or see one last glimpse of the places you loved at their peak

Crazy thing is, there's a drink from Honkai SR's live web event called "Baal Royale" that's based on Ei's and Makoto's story. It mentions that the story was found amongst the ruins of a forgotten and long destroyed world, so Honkai Star Rail takes place long after its destruction, presumably by the end of the Teyvat chapter. It's also my theory that Lumine/Aether were Akivili mistaken to be Aeons, and their "death" was only something the rest of the universe assumed due to them having been trapped in Teyvat for who knows how long, unable to communicate with anyone outside the World Dome.
@@imperfect_ghoul not accurate, just some fan making some headcannon fanfic I guess it was born from the aether and caelus trivia, where the aether and caelus from greek myth were actually father and son
Sadness aside, this would look horrifyingly cool as a ruins to explore in another game. Imagine going through these sceneries as a completely different person from a completely different timeline
I just imagined that I one day will start playing this another game as GI player and will see all my favorite places in ruins after like hundreds of years... Man that hits hard. A lot of complicated feelings that I can't even explain
Ive been thinking of this for a while! like what if one day they make a new game, with like a whole different story line but it takes place in like a futuristic version of the same universe as Genshin Impact and like for a side quest we go and explore the ruins of these nations, which were said to have been abandoned like 1726 years ago or smthin. That would be really cool
Fontaine city being underwater actually makes a lot of sense lore-wise. At the end of tevyat, Like in the prophecy, I believe furina will just be sitting on her throne, above her sunken city, sulking in her own loneliness, being one of the only people remaining in tevyat after it’s end. And dainsleif, being cursed with immortality would just have to explore the barren and empty lands of tevyat, no longer inhabited by humans or vision holders, as there would be element-less visions scattered across tevyat, as even monsters go extinct, the only remaining people would probably be dainsleif, ei, and furina, as ei would probably be trapped in her euthymia or whatever it’s called. And furina and dain for already explained reasons. (Edit: the khaen’rians would be alive too) (ANOTHER edit: and maybe the other archons too, and qiqi)
Imagine genshin ends in 2028 and a decade later it genshin impact 2 comes out and you get to used your old characters but cant wish on them anymore nostalgia
Genshin feels like a second home to me at this point. After the game ends, looking back on the cities if they are empty and uninhabited for some time like this, my tears could single handedly cause Fontaines prophecy.
mihoyo will never let their main cash cow die, they'll keep pushing out bullshit like it was all a dream or something lol. it'll be abother 15 years before genshin ends its chapter 1. then we go into the past or future and the 300 playable characters will get upgrades and 2nd weapons or something. reskins and w.e that makes them money.

no matter what. no matter the drama no matter the rewards. Genshin had kept me from a dark place i once was. And due to that, it has a special place in my heart. i will this story, this journey till the very end, and hope, when the time comes, i will have the heart to say... goodbye
If that's how Genshin would look like after finishing the game, I'd be crying bro. Spent a lot of primogems and time on you, Genshin Impact, Edit: I never wanted to be one of those people but here we go.... MOM, I'M FAMOUS -
Hoyoverse will become like EA 💀💀 Also, I agree with you... hopefully this doesn't end like this to be honest, but I have a feeling it might, for a game this successful across the world, it should at least get a good ending, but if not... our Primogems will just be a waste, but what I do like about the game is the story, it's pretty good so far.
Nahida: "Good to see you again, Traveler. You remember right, that this is not your first time visiting this world? Yes. We lost, and the judgement of the second cataclysm bore down upon us. Still, thank you for sharing the Sabzeruz Festival with me. It's alright. Teyvat has to sleep now."
The unknown being under tyvate : no nihida it doesn’t . Tyvate begins to revert back to its living state and the people are revived . The world is healed. And it’s like nothing ever happened
@@Bake-kurijraunfortunately, from what we learn in one of fontaine world quest, this time Teyvat will not be reborn again, this is the end unless of course we find a way to prevent it
Ever since the Heavenly Principles had been vanquished, the land of Teyvat could no longer flourish as it once did, leading to a vast migration of a majority of its population, few wishing to stay in the land they still hold dearly… The Wind still Blew. The Stones stayed Strong. The Thunder continues to roar. The Flora spreads lively. The Aqua rushed fiercely. The Flames Kindled persistently. The Snow refuses to thaw. Thus, a decade had past, The once great and thriving nations had slowly been retaken by nature, With new explorers rummaging and passing through the ruins, wondering what it was like in the past…
but... the small fairy and the abyss some how stayed, no body knows how and why.... when the girl of finality came to this world hoping it could be saved from the angels, she only found peaceful ruins, aswell as the paimon...
I honestly won't be surprised considering this is Mihoyo. They love making the early aspects of their stories all happy, hopeful, and belief nothing really bad will happen..... until they reach later parts of the story then they start digging into the depression and the hard reality that hope is literally hanging on a single string ready to snap at any moment. I honestly won't be surprised if they literally reveal everything in Teyvat we experienced in Genshin Impact was never real and everyone was just a illusion made to mimic the real people who all died long ago and Teyvat been stuck in a endless time loop that repeats events until the Traveler appeared and broke the loop causing Teyvat to show that it is a world already in ruins and everyone was already dead because no one was there to stop the real events of destruction that the Traveler stopped during his/her journey in the loop.
They dont have the balls to do it imo since most of genshin players are first time anime/gacha fans because of this game so they will try to keep them around and spend money for them, not gonna make it bleak And ofc the story should get darker now since we are like 60% of the story so far (imo) but not really, most of the time the dark stuffs happen on side quests instead and some of em doesnt affect the main story Unlike most of HI3 captains, they are trained with this kind of endings
@@quanlinglingdingle6122 well people thought the samething back in the Pre-Final Lesson days with HI3rd about it never getting as dark as GGZ before Mihoyo got more attention. Boy did that turn out wrong when HoV appeared and everything went straight to despair.
It would honestly be a respectable and artistic way to end the series, especially with the amount of money it makes. If Mihoyo has the courage to risk it all in order to tell a superb story beyond what they have made with Genshin so far, i will have nothing but respect for them.
This should be what would look like if Hoyo made a heartbreaking plot twist where all of the things we did is just a simulation made by one of the survivor who can't accept reality, the Sustainer trap us because she needs us to wake her sister from reality, she wants us to save Paimon
It’s just a burning memory has been playing in my head. I feel like this will be the representation of all of us looking back on this game once we’re old, we’ll still remember the music but vaguely remember the characters and the environments would look like this in our mind. A precious journey in our lives but is now just a burning memory…
or it don`t even exist anymore because now there stands a house. visiting a city you lived for half your life after a long time again is painfull, because everything has changed too an degree you can`t even regonise it anymore. get a little older and you know what i mean. all you have left is your memory and those memorys go cloudy and disapear with enough time. thats reality, our brains filter out and delete stuff all the time and the more time goes on the more memorys we will lose. thats why living for thousands of years would be not as bad for our brains as many think. the only things that remain in our memory are things where big emotions are attached, everything other is deleted automaticly in time.
This could actually works as a plot point. Midway through their journey, The Traveler got visions of ruined and seemingly abandoned Teyvat which are eerily similiar to what their sibling probably witnessed after the fall of Kha'enriah that may also plays a part to his/her current allegiance to the Abyss. This revelation causes a new internal crisis since everything seems to be perfectly done and arranged for both Traveller's goal and Teyvat long term survival. Now the Traveller must figure out how to avert this future while also bringing their sibling back.
This is so much more better than all those simulation stories out there! Those simulation stories are so predictable and cliché and just ruin the magic of Teyvat. But this-
Watching this, "And once you reach the end of your journey, you will understand true nature of this world" Hits different. Dead world, with memories of it trapped in the samsara...
Edit: Ain't no fuckin way this cringe ass comment got 1.3k likes 💀 I'm gonna be crying when I look back at this game when it ends. Genshin is forever gonna hold a special connection to me, since it's basically growing with me 😭
it ended today. and i couldn't be more happier. all of those 4 years hoping for a better future was all for naught, but the next day after departure was the happiest bittersweet moment of those 4 years. in the end, i became one of my in-game friends with 30+ inactive days in their belt when i thought it would be nigh impossible. a tale about a wasted potential and a broken dream. stop wasting your time.
It feels like just yesterday we were fighting Dvalin and playing Crescent Pike Xiangling, and look at us now. We've met 5 of the archons, almost directly met the founder of the Abyss, witnessed beings from outside Teyvat even. No matter what y'all say, but Genshin is a beautiful game, that should not ever be dragged out forever.
Once the game ends I’ll definitely cry, all the friends we’ve made on this journey, the fun times we’ve spent, forever will stay in my heart, remembering the first time I’ve joined genshin was a nostalgia..
To all who read the wiki and search the deep pages, here is a little insert for yall... it almost brought me to tears "Now, you who has set foot in this world. Your journey has reached its end, but one final doorway remains. Step forth, if you have understood the meaning of your journey. Defeat me, command me to step aside, show me that you are worthier than I to rescue her. Then, the threads of all fate will be yours to re-weave. My memory has all but faded completely... But I will always remember how much she too, loved these flowers."
To help understand...this scene happens at a place called "Sea Of Flowers At The End"...I hate to say this but the only place i can think of that holds one of lumines favorite flowers....Is Mondstat...
Lumine's favorite flower? Maybe it's the flower in her head. I play Lumine and I remember there is cutscene with Dainleaf that said that the flower is from Khaenriah..
@@creepykyu Yep. It would make sense, and at there is the final battle, when the journey is complete, i'm pretty sure we fight our sibling at the epilouge, and i'm 90% sure like ourselves in the game, they are most likely going to be able to control all elements while we are stuck with one at a time, or a corrupted version of our sibling
He still as powerful as ever. He only used his gnosis to create mora at a huge pace without any human intervention. He doesn't need it to channel his geo powers
The game came just in a really weird time of the world when we were broken and need a home to be ourselves. At this point i think a lot of people (me included) got a bond with the lore of genshin that maybe some never notice but its really strong.
The statue without its head at 0:33 gave me some sort of chills. I can only imagine the resistance revolting against the Shogun but this time everyone was against the god, thus an inevitable fate...
I hope someday someone will make the story mode for this game. Just the storyline, cutscenes, quests with scenario and that's all. So even offline, when servers of Genshin will be shutted down, you can return in this world
This is sad and beautiful at the same time. I'll never look at any ruin the same, either in Genshin on IRL, I'll always imagine how wonderful life was in its glorious days. Thank you, Misen.
By the way, the song is called “Fly a Letter to The Wind”. You should find it if you search it. It’ll be sad to see Genshin like this. I’m a late player (started this year), and if I don’t finish Genshin before this, I’d be disappointed. I hope this will never happen. For once I’ll understand Ei of why she wanted Eternity.
"As the final curtain falls on the vibrant world of Genshin Impact, my heart feels heavy yet grateful for the incredible journey we've shared. From exhilarating battles to breathtaking landscapes, each moment was a treasure. Genshin pretty much was one of the Games that got me into the Fantasy RPG genre, a genre that I largely wasn't into. The one showing the main street of Mondstadt hit me the hardest. I still return to the Square here to log off every day. It's my first anchor point in this world and where I made friends in Teyvat for the first time... No matter where the story takes us, Monstadt is Home.
I’m going to legit cry when Genshin is over. It’s become such a huge staple of my life. Through the tough times, I always look forward to logging on every day.
Genshin will never be over. The game isnt called Teyvat. Its about the twins and their journey. When it ends, we will just go to another world. I doubt they will end the story especially with the constant hints in star rail that the twins exist in honkai universe and are members of the train. Its no wonder we have genshin wings there. Its all related. Multiverse.
I used to be like you until I play HSR. Playing HSR makes me realize how much of a pain GI is. To me, GI has burn out, I'm only doing daily and whatever has Primogems on it. I used to retrying Abyss over and over to get 36* but now, I sastisfy with just 33* (34 or 35* still same primogems) I have a bunch of quest left, I only do main quest and characters that I love now. I don't even bother to spend Resin daily (I have enough for any character I might get in the future)
I've played Ragnarok Online, Ran Online, Gunbound from their Launch day until their last days(official servers in my country) but I think I'll get more emotional and feel like a part of me will be gone when Genshin ends.
I'm sure Hoyo will figure out a way to keep it alive after the main story ends if it remains as popular as it is now because there's a lot of money to be made, for one, and I'm sure they also enjoy creating things within this world. My guess is they already have ideas lined up. I think it would be cool to have a prequel playing as the sibling over 500 years as they catch up to the present. I'm sure there's a twist they could add somehow. Maybe even leave questions that could only be answered by playing the prequel. Then revamp the graphics of the original and keep it going for posterity.
What if they add more small story quests to build up friendship levels, or try playing with both twins while still fiddling around teyvat and helping archons with local problems.
Or they could start, you know, going GTA way. Instead of mainly single player, they create an entirely new server for PvP contents. I know today that idea is out of the question, but in 3 years, after every region is unlocked, maybe miHoYo can start contemplating about it. Assuming the real open world GTA started from GTA : San Andreas which is made around 2004, the Franchise is already 20 years old. With the release of GTA VI, I think the franchise would last for another decade at least. Genshin already has a strong foundation to move like GTA. It's a "too big to fail" franchise. Not to mention Liu Wei already thinking about developing enhanced VR experience for Genshin.
nothing will last forever, I'm almost hit 30 and I already seen some of my favorite online games ended. Don't cry over it, but smile because you already made a lots of memories in there.
@ziephel-6780 If they decide to have a bad ending, they should let us choose our path. Like a good and bad ending. As some people pointed out, small pieces of dialogue like insulting Paimon could lead to a bad ending while doing the opposite could lead to a good ending. I feel like Genshin is way too big to end it in a tragic way. Maybe I've grown too attached to the characters, but a bad ending (bad as in tragic or sad) would ruin the game for me. I understand it's not the same for everybody, but honestly, I played Genshin to relieve depression from shows like Death Note, AOT, etc. and not dive even deeper. I'm just not a depressed ending type of guy. I've had enough of depression in real life. I just realized I've been ranting for a while, and I dunno know if it's even healthy to use Genshin as a way to hide away from my own real life problems, fears, etc outside of shows, movies, and video games.
@@crimsontheworld772 Ah, yeah I feel the same. I also use Genshin Impact to cope the stagnation and isolation that I sometimes experience. The pandemic doesn't feel like it's over to me, it should have ended in 2020. Ironically enough, that is where the game really started, and I haven't even noticed it's existence because 2020 was such a burden to bare. Online learning sucked more than actual school. I regret not playing it sooner, because I would've liked to play the 1.1 and 2.5 events, but that's on me for not finding the right time to myself and expanding my hobbies. And problems just kept piling up from there. So, while I don't like depressing endings that much either... they still exist, and we don't always get to choose to experience them or not. But yeah, your right.. it would be unfair if everyone were to get the same outcome when it should be possible to choose a specific path to avoid the bad ending. But if the ending turns out to not be as happy as we would like it to be... as long as the ending is good, it will make the game an unforgettable experience. There are games that I've played around 2011 and earlier, and I haven't moved on from them either.
the saddest part is Aether and Lumine will just move on to another world. imagine in different games and seeing these 2 sibling depressed. that would be heartbreaking

The thought of Ei losing Yae makes me so incredibly sad. I love their dynamic so much, and they’re really my favorite duo in the game. I love how despite their constant teasing they clearly have such a strong bond and would do anything to help each other. Ei has suffered enough and seeing her heart break over losing Yae is something I don’t think I can handle

I can just imagine how sad it will be when this game finally ends and how nostalgic the past cutscenes will feel like. The teyvat chapter will end and if they do make a sequel in another world then it will take some time

This reminds me of Horizon Zero Dawn's world, especially Mondstadt and Sumeru's future pictures. Fontaine's one gave me chills, it's so surreal. The pictures are haunting and liminal; they evoke a sense of dread, nihilism, and hopelessness as if nothing the traveler does will matter in the end. I love how Stelle comes in with her deadpan face and cuts our musings short at the end xD
I think Sumeru would be heavily affected with withering in that timeline, since we saw that still stayed strongly even after nahida erased greater lord rukkhadevata and we defeated marana’s avatar.

Aww man 😭😭
Is this a theory from HSR? How accurate is this? please explain

They can just add it to star rail and make us explore it again
или нас отправят в то время когда процветали те места которые сейчас в руинах по всему Тейвату
That would be fun imagine seeing an old scaramouche just sitting alone in the sanctuary or xiaos mask after he died
Poor Dain, he will have to entertain Furina forever)😂

A bitter sweet ending indeed. Certainly a way to give depression. Knowing Mihoyo, it's not unlikely either.
They dont have the balls to do it imo since most of genshin players are first time anime/gacha fans because of this game so they will try to keep them around and spend money for them, not gonna make it bleak
And ofc the story should get darker now since we are like 60% of the story so far (imo) but not really, most of the time the dark stuffs happen on side quests instead and some of em doesnt affect the main story
Unlike most of HI3 captains, they are trained with this kind of endings
@@quanlinglingdingle6122 well people thought the samething back in the Pre-Final Lesson days with HI3rd about it never getting as dark as GGZ before Mihoyo got more attention.

Sounds exactly like the Sabzeruz Festival
It would honestly be a respectable and artistic way to end the series, especially with the amount of money it makes. If Mihoyo has the courage to risk it all in order to tell a superb story beyond what they have made with Genshin so far, i will have nothing but respect for them.

You can tell the devs actually love working on the game from the streams and interviews. Its not just money, its a bond.

It's always sad when you log into your favorite game for the last time and it's a ghost town but you'll always have the memories of fun times.
True 😭😭😭
I feel like I'm the only one here who doesn't want genshin to have a sad ending. I didn't sign up for that 😭
I don't want a sad ending either man ;-; imma cry if this happens
The best ending that we can have is a bittersweet one. If Teyvat ends tragically, it should be a merciful one.
Do you hear this? That's right, that's the sound of my heart breaking
Genshin ending will be a very sad thing, this game has been my comfort zone since its release and it's impossible to imagine what I'm gonna do without it
Traveler: Do you regret it? Changing your mind, i mean...
Ei: *contemplating an abandoned Inazuma city in ruins*
I do not. There is certain beauty in change, you know? As painful as it is. I just hope i get to see Miko and Makoto again, one day...
And Itto and every Inazuma else
The thought of Ei losing Yae makes me so incredibly sad. I love their dynamic so much, and they’re really my favorite duo in the game. I love how despite their constant teasing they clearly have such a strong bond and would do anything to help each other. Ei has suffered enough and seeing her heart break over losing Yae is something I don’t think I can handle
@@Booga04 that's exactly why i did it, and I'm sorry

Seeing the happy Mondstad in mere ruins...it hurt me a lot, but seeing the other nations, brother, you just made me cry, just thinking about what happened to Jean or Ninguang or Sara breaks my heart😔
I'd like to think they have already deceased before the whole nation got abandoned
What of the Archons and other characters that can live for thousands of years?
@@josevictorionunez9312erosion or can turn on each other like the yakshas, idk about raiden tho since her plane of euthymia cancels out erosion
What about my baby klee.. albedo and kaeya.. what happened to everyone there omg
@@Okaycooll You could say Kaeya betrayed Mondstadt at this point.
This hurts my heart. Just imagine all the characters that don’t die. They would be so lonely. Dainsleif, the Archons, Albedo, Neuvillette(?), Wanderer, possibly Xiao. So sad 😞
That... Would give an entire new story

I can just imagine how sad it will be when this game finally ends and how nostalgic the past cutscenes will feel like. The teyvat chapter will end and if they do make a sequel in another world then it will take some time

i'm still new to the genshin impact community, and i just started playing this year. but already, it feels like i been playing for decades. i won't be looking forward to when genshin impact reaches it's conclusion. even if the saying that goes "all good things must come to an end." genshin impact earned a very special place in my heart. thank you, mihoyo for creating such a masterpiece. 😢❤
Well. It is just the teyvatt chapter. And by looking how much time is it taking, Genshin could go on forever
same
The thing that will hit harder than that is seeing qiqi and she remembers you
This made me very sad and really anxious for some reason and now I feel like I’m gonna cry 😭 this video was hauntingly beautiful In a way

On the right side of the old Fontaine castle, there's a unknown structure literally came from nowhere. Now that's a 'deep' lore.
No. That is *Ship* where we see with *True sight Potion*... do your world quest man... they hold alot of lore
That was probably generated randomly by the AI lol.
10 years passed, possibly they did a construction in that time
@@Silent_Void Actually, it's either the prison or another chunk of that building off in the distance we can't reach yet, the ship seen by the true sight potion is way smaller and resembles designs from the shipwrecks when it likely fought Elynas
🗿🍷
This just shows that you should value and enjoy your time.❤
But the worst thing Genshin would ever say is
This server is now closed thank you for playing Genshin Impact for (however many years)
*Service for Genshin Impact ended on (xx/xx/xx)UTC*
*Thank you for playing!*
And then its just a picture of all the characters holding up a sign that says "thank you"
I Hope they don’t do that, even after the story is gone I still believe people will go back and replay it and even bring in new players.
@@kiplingwasafurry1108 This is Hoyoverse we are talking about. Honkai Impact just finished it's main story after 7 years, and now they have a whole new story that they plan to run for years more. So when you look at Genshin, notice in the trailer it says "Teyvat Chapter"...CHAPTER.....meaning we can go to other worlds after. Just like for Honkai Impact.
@@riataninaimagine if the traveler ended up in zenless zone 0
Not the first time
There used to be a game few hoyo veterans still remember playing like osmanthus wine, its name was Houkai Gakuen 2/Guns Girl Z.
First released in 2014, Its international servers were shut down on October 11 2021, 2 weeks after Genshin's disastrous anniversary, leaving the Liyue Inazuma server still open
I left a comment on this video before and I'm going to leave it again every time I watch this video it tears me up because of how long we've all been on this journey I know we're going to move on to bigger and better things in the future but guess it's always going to be part of my life
Genshin helps me thru the tough times of pandemic, its the first online game I actually enjoyed. Tho it deeply saddens me realizing that my friends quitting this game one after the other, I would still be happy when the time for Aether and Lumine to meet again finally came.
I feel saddened too that my old friends are quitting Genshin (but some are stilllllll going strong) so dw about it
I still love this game even after 3 years
1:01 I don't know why, but this video makes me sad
It's just the music
its atlantic 😂
“Not every memory has a happy ending but even on my journey in teyvat will never end until i die and crumble to dust our memory, our family, our soul teyvat will shine like diamond in our memory may our heart and soul resides on you traveller goodbye…” -Me
Its sad because this will all happen one day, the game ends, we forget it. Gives me chills, but its so nostalgic and beautiful…
Imagine a sequel or something like that to Genshin in which the map is this, an abandoned and desolate Teyvat
Stfu it ain't that deep
I think Sumeru would be heavily affected with withering in that timeline, since we saw that still stayed strongly even after nahida erased greater lord rukkhadevata and we defeated marana’s avatar.

Hi
"After the battle, Teyvat was in shambles. The sevens nations were destroyed and it's inhabitants left for new homes, the archons left with their own peoples to build back what was lost. As I prepared to leave with my sibling, I looked back at my travels. The friends I made, the ones I lost and the memories that were made. Teyvat might be lost, but the memories will live on with her survivors.

The way they look like after 10 years breaks my heart.I am gonna cry if this actually happens
Same 😭😭😭
It would be incredibly nostalgic to see if Mihoyo actually does this when Genshin Impact looks like this after it has finally ended. Memories gonna hit me like a truck when I play this game again.
The fontaine part gave me chills...literally
People have a saying that "every party will eventually end" but that will not apply to genshin, because their stories will last forever, even if their stories end, there will be a At some point a new story will begin again, it will be an endless loop
'The destination is not everything. So before you reach the end, keep your eyes open. Use the chance to take in the world around you'
-Venti
Watching this made me feel an enormous amount of tears bursting right now.
Me too 😞
It’s clearly stated on google the game will forever have new update even after the final because one’s a story ends a new one begins
