With aldue respect day one you have a smile that would have light up the entire state of Texas even when we Texans had that eclipse a couple of days ago!!!🌞
One of the first concerts l went to as a teenager was Leo's..he does have an amazing voice..it was exactly like the records..got most of his albums he had quiet a few hits..love Long Tall Glasses...Moonlighting..Raining in my Heart..The Show Must Go On..Thunder in my Heart..Orchard Road..How Much Love and a personal favourite I Can't Stop Loving You..🇬🇧💕✝️🙏👍👏🎵🎵🇺🇸
In a recent interview that Rick Beato had with a producer from the Steely Dan Aja album, it was revealed that Steve Gadd did the drumming for 'You Make Me Feel Like Dancing' a few hours before doing the famous drumming for the song Aja in the same studio.
When this song came out In my high school in Southern California most guys found his voice silly but the girls liked it and danced to it so it was pretty popular.
Leo has a few good songs such as, How Much Love & Long Tall Glasses which is my favorite! This one is also cool, and he does have other songs I can't remember right now! I keep thinking he's Australian, but I think he's actually from the UK! You're playing the radio edit version I believe! Boogie meter 5! See you next week people, whoever you all are! Maybe no one's really out there! 😢😮Bye!
She needs to hear Amii Stewards - Kock On Wood. That would sure get a 5 on Angela's dance meter. I checked, and Angela hasn't done any reactions to Knock On Wood.
I know this song sounds weird to you DayOne now, but in 1976, going to school, it used to be on the radio as I left home to walk to school, and having this in my head made the journey easier....we never questioned it or thought it was weird, we just had our little parties and danced with it
I thought you'd like it when I suggested it for the theme. It was a great song that has stood the test of time. You were right on with your assessment of 4. Thanks for reacting to it!
Here are just a few of the musicians that played on this song and the album it was off of: Larry Carlton, Ray Parker Jr. - guitar, Steve Gadd - drums, Jeff Porcaro - drums (verse 3 onwards), and Chuck Rainey. These guys were working on a Steely Dan album "The Royal Scam" at the same time. This song was the Grammy Award winner for 1976's Best Rhythm and Blues Song.
One of my favorite Leo Sayer songs is "The Show Must Go On" from 1973. However, for years I had wrongly assumed that the Three Dog Night cover version was actually sung by Leo Sayer, and not by its true lead singer, Chuck Negron. I made the same mistake with The Car's "Drive" song when I wrongly assumed it was sung by Ric Ocasek, and not by its true singer, Benjamin Orr. I also love Sayer's 1977 song, "When I Need You". Its a perfect companion song to America's 1972 song, "I Need You".
Took you a short bit at the beginning to get into it, but then you got it...just like most of us. This song was a little different at the time, BUT So Fun !!
Hi Angela 😊 Great reaction to You Make Me Feel Like Dancing😊👍 I agree with you on the Boogie meter rating of four because it did make you feel like dancing but it didn't quite have the energy to push it up to a five 😊 Have a great day and bye for now 😊👍
Angela, you should react to the r&b group, Heatwave. They have two big disco-crossover hits. One is Boogie Nights and the other one is called The Groove Line. You will love both songs.
According to Leo Sayer, He got a call one day from Elvis. Elvis had heard Leo's songs on the radio and wanted very much to meet him. This would be Elvis' last day on Earth. Leo Sayer may have been the last person to have spoken to Elvis, perhaps other than his girlfriend.
Lovely Angela. I once heard a story that in one of Leo Sayer's earliest performances, someone hit him over the head with a chair. No idea if it's true.
Leo Sayer was a talented songwriter, at this time he released a great album called Endless flight which included this song and When I need you. This a really catchy one, great to dance to. I would rate this a 4-Colin Ward
Since you're talking about disco music, then check out these artists Dr. Buzzers and his original Savannah band," che che lafam" The Miracle's " do it" The Commodore's " Machine Gun" Cheryl Lynn " hot burn" Donna Summers " try me" Ohio Players " flopp or fropp, and love rollercoaster " Abba " dancing queen" Van McCoy " the hustle Trans europe express
This song was "stolen" from Ray Parker Jr. after a record exec heard Ray playing it on guitar and asked Ray if he'd like to go in and record it (no paperwork mind you). They got Leo Sayer to sing & release it. However, when it came out, Ray was at a record store trying to find his name on the record for hours - it wasn't there, they STOLE his song, he had no money to sue, so he chalked it up as a "lesson learned" to copyright & always get paperwork! Leo felt so bad that he let Ray perform on a few songs on his album.
Haven’t heard this since I lost my metal Scooby Doo lunch box with the thermos inside!🤣ah Sweet Mems!
🤔WoW! you must be ancient🤨😏😁
Mine was the Fat Albert metal lunchbox.
LOL. I had the Roadrunner.
With aldue respect day one you have a smile that would have light up the entire state of Texas even when we Texans had that eclipse a couple of days ago!!!🌞
Leo's LONG TALL GLASSES is a lot of fun.
My late, great mother introduced me to this classic. It's always fun to boogie along to.
Leo was an original. He never took himself to seriously, he just went out and had fun performing. He was great live.

This brings back a LOT of memories. Glad to see you enjoy it.
As we say in Texas; y'all be safe. EVERYBODY!!!

1976: "Wow, this song is amazing!"
2024: "Wow, this song is amazing!"
Wow, those were the days.
This is one of my absolute favorite songs from that era!
Such a fun song!
70's magic at it's Best !!! music then was fun and simple .
Check out his other two big USA hits from the mid-'70s, the lively "Long Tall Glasses (I Can Dance)" and the #1 ballad "When I Need You."
Leo had some very danceable songs back in the 1970s. Think this was his biggest hit.
You must be into the 70s. All my high school songs. This song was so stuck in my head as a teenager
Now you know why being young in the 70's was great and dancing was the norm. Love your channel. 🎶🎤👩🦳👋💜💙

Ray Parker Junior really wrote that song but his producer or agent gave it to Leo he said he was hurt about it
Семидесятые в мире музыки ,были самыми лучшими и урожайными .😊 👍🙏🎶
Leo was big in 1970s with his distinctive voice
I know this song sounds weird to you DayOne now, but in 1976, going to school, it used to be on the radio as I left home to walk to school, and having this in my head made the journey easier....we never questioned it or thought it was weird, we just had our little parties and danced with it
"Orchard Road" by Leo is a great song, would bring a tear to a glass eye.

Another dance song from the 70's well worth listening to is Tina Charles song called I love to love. It got to No1 in the Uk. You will love it.

I thought this song was a duet with a male and female when I first heard it. To be fair though, I was six years old in '76.
Listen to Gino vannelli 1978 I just don't wanna stop

He claims. Doesn't make it true. Which it isn't.

@@Jason.King.at.your.service But, how can you be so sure?
Then Ray Parker, Jr stole "Ghostbusters" theme song from Huey Lewis and the News (I wanna New Drug). What comes around, goes around.
Huey Lewis made a lot of money from his own song (and maybe Ghostbusters), however, Ray didn't get a penny from the Leo Sayer song.
If you want to make Money ask me what song you should play
Day One is so sexy
I have never liked this song from day one.
Leo can sing about dancing but he was not a good dancer. lol
Check out How Much Love by Leo Sayer.
❤
