I like your content a lot, and I understand your need to finance your channel through ads, I don't have a problem with that. I do have a problem with the specific method you're using- promoting Masterworks and taking their money is essentially giving financial advice while making a cut out of it, which puts you in the same category as financial experts, or people pretending to be one. There is no risk-free investing, and if it's too good to be true, it usually is. RUclipsr Plain Bagel did a good video on your sponsor, and although they're not explicitly scamming people (as of yet), they have plenty of red flags. I warmly recommend you watch his analysis if you haven't already.
You're risking your reputation for a product you likely don't grasp completely. It's not a shame to admit one doesn't understanding something - but to actively sell it to others without regard for consequences is what a snake oil salesman would do.

Despite your videos being extremely informative and detailed, I'm going to point out the Masterworks sponsorship scam; they basically hire youtubers to promote what amounts to stock in their own company, but without any legal protections and while cherry-picking their returns (they sell only what increased in price and only count returns on those investments, not those that didn't increase).

    • @westrim

...So, what's the scam? It's pretty upfront that you're buying stock in artwork with the bet that their value will rise. Why on earth would they sell artwork that hasn't risen in value? What stock exchange has significant legal protections for retail investors? The only fishy part for me is the assertion their ads sometimes make that there's a 'waiting list'.

K&G have already lost a sponsorship in an effort to appease us- how much more can we ask really? Not without fore-planning and assuring sufficient communal financing beforehand can we ask for the abolishing of any further sponsorships of K&G. It's not for lack of agreement on the sponsorship quality that I ramble on, but it's the desired end- K&G have duties to uphold, duties they are made able to fulfill on account of these sponsors. I just bid you be understanding of that enough to tailor your words about it. Showing understanding paves the way for effective action.

Well... it's just the military pundits coming around. You have to give them a break, it's kind of hard to shift opinions as quickly as needed to keep up with Russian military incompetence. If you look at the front and what's going on, they're still attacking all over the place, still looking for weakness, still being generally rebuffed and, well, it's over. The Ukrainians don't seem to be running out of reserves nearly fast enough and what's left of the Russian reserves can't be risked unless the Ukrainian lines collapse... but they didn't, and they aren't likely to anytime soon. And no, slow withdrawals are not a collapse. Thus, these pundits are faced with the fact that the entire winter offensive period, admittedly somewhat short by historical standards (mild winter), has been lost through Russian incompetence. The Russians even failed at attritional warfare. It's over. The Ukrainians easily survived the Russian winter offensive with only losing a few positions. Can that really be true? Probably.
So, now we wait for the summer offensives to begin. Will the Ukrainians succeed at manoeuvre warfare *again?* Probably. Will the Ukrainians succeed in strategic supply strangulation forcing Russian withdrawals *again?* Probably. Will the Russians try attritional warfare *again?* Probably.

Another development in Russian tactics is that they have long since abandoned their much vaunted battalion tactical group formation and have created a new one called the 'assault detachment' which is a battalion sized element consisting of three assault companies, an artillery unit and a command unit. Instead of armor spearheading the assault, they are to act as fire support with infantry platoons and small assault teams moving ahead after artillery strikes. These change in tactics appear to be aimed at preserving Russian armor strength.

It seems to have been created for assaulting fortified positions. nothing new here, since the marines has been shifting to a similar infantry setup. The problem with it is that it relies on good leader ship at the junior officer and NCO level to be effective. All it does it wastes infantry strength, since the Russians do not have that type of leadership.

It was breezed over fairly quickly, but Excalibur artillery rounds are no joke. It is a GPS guided 155mm HE round that can find its target designated with a 10-digit grid reference - that means that it will strike a target with an accuracy of +/- 1 meter. Standard expected drift for dummy HE rounds in flight is +/- 250 meters. The high-speed video they showed us of it in action put the round _through the passenger window of a target pick-up truck_ before detonating.

The negative of Excalibur being the $150k + cost. What makes sense is the $5k fuse called a precision guiding kit, PGK, that can screw into a standard artillery fuse mount. This gives a standard artillery round the accuracy of the Excalibur without the high cost. This kit makes a standard artillery shell between 10 to 20 times more effective. The fuse can also be set for air burst, contact or peniitration. One other trate being the fuse will deactivate the shell if it goes off target so the shell can be used for close Infantry support. The US does have large stocks of these artillery fuses but is reluctant to send fuses from it's stockpile and is sending only current production. I would suggest witting to legislators an sharing on media the stupidity of this policy. Our current stocks should be sent now and rebuilt later. Ukraine needs effective weapons now.

Great video as always but there is one thing.
I used to write this comment at the beginning of the series, and I believe, someone from the channel reacted to it but change has not been made.
P66 the name of the road in the Svatove-Kreminna area is written in Cyrillic. The "P" is actually Cyrillic "R" from the word "Регіональна" - Regional.
So it is called Regional 66, thus it should be pronounced as "R66".
And you can arguably call it a "Highway", but not "T" roads as you did in the video, as "T" stands for "Territorial", and territorial roads are the lower level of the roads in Ukraine.
Basically, the order goes like this:
E-highways - European roads (stretching all across Europe)
M-highways - International highways (from the word Міжнародна - International)
H-highways - National highways (from the word Національна - National. Usually connects regional centres)
R-roads - local roads between different cities within regions or between non-central cities of different regions (meaning explained above)
T-roads - territorial roads, that connect small towns and villages. Not highways by any means.
Thanks once more, I hope this will be fixed in future videos.

I'm really not a fan of people taking masterwork sponsors. I get why channels need sponsors but ones that are 'financial investments' like these are more often harmful to the fans who want to support or buy into your sponsorships. From what I've heard ya masterworks can be great but there is a lot of basically hidden fees and a skewing of their numbers as art that raises in value sells quickly where as stuff not making a return just never gets sold meaning that it doesn't impact the numbers they are saying people make. Subjective sponsorships are fine or ones of just products (unless the product is known bad such as komikoto knives) but financial ones are a lot more sketch when people promote them.

    • @kennj321
      @kennj321 Год назад +4

    • @FatedGamer
      @FatedGamer Год назад +5

@@kennj321 Well it is also just that art does not sell very often. Its a very subjective sell so unless someone wants to own that specific artwork its not going to sell for any real value. So any tracking of value or charts are completely fabricated unless the company is getting an offer for that exact artwork. Like the graphs they show are completely nonsense. Also from what I've seen they setup a company for each piece of art and you are effectively getting a share in that company NOT the artwork itself. So there is a fee associated with taking care of the art and the costs the company itself takes. So its all just messy and the chance for profit is low with extremely subjective changes in price.

After the fall of the Soviet Union I thought these games are only going to collect dust on my shelves. Now they suddenly have a new element of relevance.
While I can identify about 95% of the systems you reference, every once in a while you come up with a new one for me like the MLRS munitions made by Pakistan. I don't know if it would make sense, and you might do something with some of the other RUclipsrs like the Chieftain or Forgotten Weapons, but videos both for people with no military background, and even updates for some of the esoteric crap that's getting cycled into the conflict, might make a nice supplemental increase in views.
Then again videos covering weapons of the Ukraine / Russia conflict may already have reached saturation. Haven't looked for them because as I said I recognize 19 out of 20 items you post. Keep up the awesome work, and now I have to look up that MLRS munition from Pakistan and its production capabilities. Bad channel, you made me work at something. :)
OK, BM21 reload missiles. I had absolutely no idea anybody except the Russians and maybe the Chinese still made munitions for them. I mean the system dates back to the end of the US involvement in Vietnam. And Russia is looking at older artillery pieces from the great patriotic war, so I shouldn't be surprised. I just didn't realize Ukraine would be getting those munitions from Pakistan. But I guess if North Korea can supply the Soviets - oops I meant Russians - artillery shells, Pakistan can supply munitions for an obsolete Soviet volley fire missile systems for Ukraine..

It's incredible to see how brave Ukrainians are not only to defend their homeland against a much bigger enemy, but also to witness their phenomenal fighting spirit as to not give up on the idea that one day Ukraine could join the European Union.
The old soviet empire is long gone. It's passé; it's a finished business. Ukraine has understood that long time ago, but it was too weak to do something about it. The awakening moment was the the Revolution of Dignity also known as the Maidan Revolution or the Ukrainian Revolution, which took place in February 2014 in the center of Kyiv. Since that particular moment in time, her awaken spirit has not given up on fighting and will keep fighting until she will get rid of her old skin so she can enter a whole new world. Fresh and ready to go!
A perspective from an awaken Moldovan.

I remember first seeing the news in 2014. I remember a year later when it was 'over' a news company did a special report & went to the border towns & met up with a squad of soldiers who protected the borders. They'd be shot at randomly sometimes & they'd volley back.
A Ukrainian Elder loved in a building that had been shelled. She lost her husband in it so she took a new apartment. She said she wouldn't leave like everyone else because she would not dare change her life just because of the Russians. She said that she could hear gunfire every night.
I don't see why no one saw this coming. Then again this all is very surreal.

Ukraine's defense of its homeland against Russia is the modern day version of Greece and the Persian wars. Like Greece, this is the second invasion of Ukraine by the same country. Putin is the Russian version of Xerxes. The soldiers in Bakhut are like the 300 Spartans at Thermopylae. There was a quote at the end of a movie about that 300 Spartan stand against foreign aggression that rings true of the Ukrainian fallen soldiers in Bakhmut is: "They were not defeated, they were only killed".
The Black Sea is akin to Salamis Bay for the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Putin should never forget history. History has shown that the confederated Greeks went on the offensive, decisively defeating the Persian army at the Battle of Plataea, and ending the invasion of Greece by the Achaemenid Empire. Putin Take Heed and learn for History.
Putin's history between Ukraine and Russia is backward. According to history:
The Rus tribes are the ancestors of those who still bear their name today, the Russian and Belarussian people, as well as those of Ukraine. Kyiv was referred to by the 12th century as the ‘mother of Rus cities’, effectively denoting it as the capital of the Kyivan Rus state. The rulers of the region were styled Grand Princes of Kyiv.
This association of Kyiv with the early heritage of the Rus as the root of the Russian people means the city has a hold over the collective imaginations of those beyond modern Ukraine. It was important to the birth of Russia.
Based on this account, Russia is a state or territory of Ukraine.

Simplest way to get aircraft to Ukraine is offer to replace the units old Eastern bloc countries hold with updated fighters, even ones that are almost considered outdated. ( Everything military is outdated 10 years before its produced now anyway) Countries like Poland and Romania get updates of Western aircraft while passing the Soviet made gear to Ukrainian pilots who would be familiar with the systems without retraining. Has to be a lot of those Soviet made units and spare parts floating around. Mightn't be the best but at least give them a fighting chance.

Althought we dont know the true loss from both sides, its pretty much agreed on that the Russians have lost a lot more than the Ukranians due to them being the attackers, charging well defended positions and having abysmal logistics, while the Ukranians got inteligence backing by all of NATO.
So while its hard to correctly identify what the total losses May be, dont believe anyone saying the Ukranians lost more men than the Russians.

    • @Prometheus7272
      @Prometheus7272 Год назад +2

@@TheAndradeCS To provide a counterpoint to your argument, 80% of casualties in conventional warfare are from artillery, Ukrainian officials have admitted Russia has an effective artillery advantage of 10-1 due to having more equipment and ammunition. I'm sure you can figure out how that works out, not good for Ukrainians. Ukrainian officials have also admitted a 1-1 casualty rate in Bakhmut. Additionally, Ukraine has been through several mobilization rounds at this point, the Russians have only been through 1 and most of them haven't even been deployed, (300,000) are still training or are being kept in reserve. This is all information that has been admitted by Western and Ukrainian sources. Of course, they don't talk about Ukrainian casualties, neither side does, they don't even bother lying and playing their numbers down. This is usually a sign that even if they played their numbers down it would still look very bad.
Where have all these troops mobilized by the Ukrainians gone? If they still have them why didn't they reinforce the flanks of Bakhmut when they still could? This would continue to bleed the Russians as they try to take Bakhmut, if the Russians are taking higher casualties as you propose. If Ukraine has mobilized more troops than Russia, confirmed by both sides, and hasn't taken more casualties compared to the Russians, why haven't they got a numbers advantage against the Russians? (Which they clearly don't). It would seem to me the simplest and most likely answer to this is they became casualties, however you can believe what you wish. Nonetheless, these are crucial questions that must be honestly answered if the truth is to be better understood. I'm not saying I know 100%, in truth anyone who claims to know casualties is deluding themselves, but just this basic analysis doesn't bode well for Ukraine, not to say its great for Russia either but the comparison doesn't really favor either side in a major way, apart from the fact that Russia very well looks like it won Bakhmut which opens up the road to conquer the rest of the Donbas, which seems to be their ultimate political objective at this moment. If they win the Donbas, which after Bakhmut would be possible, they will present this as a win to the public and attempt to end the war.
The only offensive success the Ukrainians achieved was against sparsely covered lines, at the time Russia lacked manpower (pre-mobilization), such as the Kharkiv offensive where the Ukrainians had an estimated 15,000 troops vs 4,000 DPR, LPR troops, badly equipped and trained. The window for those sorts of opportunities has now all but closed your not going to achieve that level of numerical superiority again, they're no longer lacking manpower to fill the lines now they've mobilized. If the Russians take Donbas, claim victory, dig in and fortify their positions with a defense in depth, I really don't see how the Ukrainians could ever get their land back. They haven't shown any capacity for offensives on large concentrations of troops, which relative to pre-mobilization is now basically all of the area of the front. Have you also considered that considering how difficult it was to take Bakhmut, the Ukrainians will have to do the exact same thing. For Bakhmut, Lysychansk, Severodonetsk, Donetsk. All will have to be fought for, street by street like all urban combat. Assuming they will even get there.
      Some food for thought

As an American who has lived with full family income much less than 100k I must say people making 6 figures living paycheck to paycheck is only a function of the fact that people tend to live at the edge of their means whatever they may be. They still have a very decent lifestyle and material wealth in most cases, but living like that comes with a certain base cost which, since many are in equilibrium with that cost, small changes can really cause a problem. Of course the answer is to change your lifestyle accordingly in the long run, which is not easy to do, but certainly living paycheck to paycheck for someone making 100k and someone making 15k is not the same conditions.

Humans do not tend to live at the edge of their means, that is merely a cultural thing, not a human condition. The reason China did not offer a stimulus is because Chinese families naturally save huge portions of their income. American consumerist culture is not indicative of everybody else.
"You know, economists tell us that your automobile should not cost more than half of your annual income. So if you make an income of five thousand dollars, your car shouldn’t cost more than about twenty-five hundred. That’s just good economics....But so often, haven’t you seen people making five thousand dollars a year and driving a car that costs six thousand? And they wonder why their ends never meet. That’s a fact...." Martin Luther King Jr.
Part of the reason for the consumerist culture is that it's good for the economy. Storing wealth and not using it, is theoretically a terrible waste since money should flow for the economy to do well and let all boats rise, but it's also a terribly risky lifestyle if disaster strikes. It's partly why the US Government has to throw money around when disaster strikes to maintain an environment where the money keeps flowing freely in the economy.

Bakhmut will likely, eventually fall to Russian forces due to the sheer brute force and high casualties Russia is spending to seize it. However, it has taken them over half a year now just to seize Bakhmut and surrounding areas while Ukraine has liberated entire portions of Oblasts (states) of their homeland.
Bakhmut falling would be a victory for Russia and a much needed morale boost, but the military importance of the operation has been lost. It has taken too long to seize Bakhmut to turn it into speedy momentum, as the next line has had months to fortify, and Bakhmut itself is largely damaged or destroyed which weakens the ability to store troops and morale here.
Bakhmut will likely, eventually fall to Russia, but at a time, material, and manpower cost that brings in question if it would be anything more than a pyrrhic victory. Personally I hope Bakhmut doesn’t fall, but Russia is throwing thousands to take it at a cost that honestly seems counterproductive.
We do not know the cost Ukraine is expending to maintain Bakhmut and it too could be high, but we do know that the attacker often suffers more casualties than the defender. The very slow movement of the front and what information we know does indicate Russia is suffering more than Ukraine is for Bakhmut.
We’ll have to see how the battle concludes and what casualties we know about, but each day Bakhmut stands is another day for cities west of Bakhmut to fortify and for Ukrainian forces to prepare their own offensives. Bakhmut may eventually fall, but each day it doesn’t is more time for Ukraine to spend on preparation. With luck and experience, this preparation may translate into another successful Ukrainian offensive.
The Zaporizhzhia Oblast is certainly a place to watch this year for Ukrainian offensives.

Its all swamp, marshes, 14 different rivers, fields, endless seas of sticky mud and only three major roads leading into Dnipro city, plus one rail line. Bakhmut falls but the trade-off is an even worse challenge to fight through.

Starting it out moderately is better, I'd argue. They're new to the equipment. No matter how much training you go through, combat is always going to be the final test. Giving them a smaller number allows for them to figure it out in the field, with their mistakes not being nearly as crippling. That'd let them build up a core of experienced Ukrainian crewmen to work as trainers. That means no language barriers, as well as being able to convey how Ukraine *actually* uses them, rather than simply whatever American/British/German/French doctrine is. Meaning that if this round isn't able to end the war, the next larger one most certainly will.
