I’m glad you made this video because every single time someone had the orange backpack they would die or someone else would die but I believe that orange backpack is curse. The deer I don’t believe in that at all. Have you ever heard of the red shirt curse? It’s the same with the orange backpack but a little bit different.
I used to believe the "Orange backpack curse" theory but after this, nah. I think the deers say whether or not there's hope in their current situation or what's to come. As for "A," yeah it's a cursed. More like a form of symbolism that comes with a curse but still a curse.
Chanel is deff one of my faves!! Id love to see a breakdown or the story of the little girl that Rick kills early on. I’d also love to see you breakdown the webisodes🥰
I believe they meant to portray machone as the hiker like a what if scenario as if she was him and rick passed her instead that day. Btw i love your videos man keep up the amazing work 💙

All 3 are cool, but the A is my favorite. The Terminus train car, Gabriel's church, etc... all leading up to Jadis and her connection to the CRM. I wish we got more in-depth explanations for all the A symbols we've seen especially the train car. I'd like to think the train car was used to transport people to CRM ...even connecting it to train car in s11 when our group was brought to the Work camps. I really thought Destination 2 was going to be an outpost for transporting people for the crm. So heartbroken that never got fleshed out. Love the videos man!
I would say the orange back pack is because they were too cheap to buy another on for the set and just kept using the same one. Could of had multiple sets for years and just recycled them
My first thought about the orange backpack was, that’s a good backpack. If it were really the apocalypse they’d end up using that backpack a lot. So when it showed up later, I appreciated the detail.
I do think the orange backpack on termites at terminus could fit either theory. The death foreshadowing is their own, ricks group obtained the backpack by less than positive means, same as the termites. The weight on their shoulders being that they just lured two groups (two splinters of our group) that both came with the intention to peacefully join them. Losing out on members that could have positively benefited their group, and/or luring people to your location could be considered a weight on their shoulders
I mean He was in a high stress situation, dehydrated, bitten, and probably hallucinating It's not unthinkable that his brain would be telling him something bad was gonna happen
Besides, the day before the dream he saw a zombie- *cof* *cof* *walker*... eating a deer close to the camp, then he said the town is running out of food and similar to every being on earth, migration would be the righest thing to do on that case, so, the dream could be generate by his anxiety and fear not something paranormal (but also can be!), I love those "flirts" The Walking Dead do with the paranormal that can be realistic explained so none believe.
This is one of these tricky spots where you have to believe in the thing for it to have any power over you. Clearly omens don't actually exist, but like placebos.. if it still has an effect on a person, I am not sure how much that distinction matters. The problem is, once you start seeing them you start seeing them everywhere, and that is pretty useless. So it is best to ignore them for the superstitious nonsense they are.
Unless they’re used as a device creatively in books or on screen. 🤦♀️ Then they can absolutely exist, because the world of fiction isn’t real life. Sheesh.
For me "A" means targot cs every time we see a A the group being targeted by someone or something. Now the Daryl A jumpsuit could be a difficult one to find evidence but Daryl was a targot for Negan and Dwight sense negan wanted daryl as targot to show weakness in a strong man but Dwight just had his eye on Daryl for a while which then makes him the tagor for his case
The backpack does seem more like a metaphorical burden, rather than an omen. The deer (which, btw, the plural of deer is "deer", not "deers") does seem to be more of an omen, but it sort of feels more coincidentally so? Like they're in the woods. Deer are in the woods and walkers go after anything they see . . . it's not a stretch to think they'd be attracted to a deer and go after it and as long as they're there, humans to nibble on too.
I like the orange backpack showing up because I appreciated seeing them reusing something so useful. I don’t think it’s an omen or even a metaphor. I can’t give Gimple that much credit. 😂 I think it is a coincidence.
I'm surprised didn't mention the deer that Daryl got in the beginning of season 4 that Patrick wanted to thank him for which also the virus happened not too long after I mean it doesn't really matter it's just me
Carl might've still got shot because he was wearing brown and green, most hunters wear orange vests because deer can't see the colour orange and to stop other hunters from shooting them
No one in the show knows how to hold a gun properly. They always chicken wing pistol gripped guns or have the butt of the stock over their shoulders. Daryl keeps his eye to the side of his crossbow with the stock over his shoulder and Rick chicken wings the AK.
The deer in my eyes represents the death of innocence and peace, less of a warning and more like a foreshadowing that someone is going to face a horrifying situation that will chip away at their drive for peace and safety
Ok I'm still confused on the whole A and B meaning with regards to the CRM. I know they game some half ass explanation in TOWL of As being leaders and becoming test subjects, while Bs become workers. That does not track at all with everything we learned from Jadis. In seasons 7 and 8 when Jadis has Neegan and Gabe on two separate occasions, she tells the CRM she has an A both times. And both times she had them tied up and ready to be bitten by a walker. Which would make them test subjects because they were bitten, which points meaning something to the affect of After bitten. Then she says she has an A before she finds Rick, but then changes her mind when she finds Rick and says she has a B, but he is strong. If hes strong and potentially a leader, wouldnt that make him an A? No one has been able to answer this question, can you please explain how all this adds up?!?!? Great vids btw.
rather then idea of peace for the deers, i think it signifies being a prey instead. In a world where everyone has become a predator, when the deer is shown, someone will become a bigger predator and one will become the prey. So sometimes, the deer dies as the prey, while sometimes, the character is the prey.
I think the deer is a mixed omen. I think it represents the hope and beauty that is always counterbalanced against the fear and horror of the Walking Dead universe. How life in this world is always both at once. Some examples: Carl sees the deer and gets shot. This results in injury to a child - but the group also finds the farm and makes new friends. In addition, Carl sees there is still beauty in the world and Rick and Lori are reminded he can still have a future, even in a world like this. In season seven, the deer at the carnival saves Rick's life, after almost getting him killed. It interrupts Rick and Michonne's happy day of escapism and brings them one day closer to a war in which people will die. But its also a running joke that gives them hope and light-heartedness at a difficult time, and in keeping them both alive for the war to come, it brings them closer to victory too. Rick also witnessed a partially-eaten deer corpse in the woods in season three, before he stumbled on Clara. This was both a bad omen - she tried to kill him soon after - and a good one - meeting her reawakened some of the fight in Rick, but showed it tempered now by humanity, as he honored her wish to be left to turn alongside her dead husband. It's a scene of humanity and horror. Then there is the deer that is seen before the camp is attacked in season one. The attack is a brutal loss of innocence for the group - but it makes them stronger and more aware of the risks. They can't stay where they are. They need to strive for somewhere safer. This attack kills Amy, yes, but it also kills Carol's abusive husband Ed, setting her free to become stronger, just as the group does. That's how I've always thought of the deer. Not as a solely bad omen, but as a sign a hard lesson, or an event of mixed good and bad, is coming.
6:19 rick and Michonne weren’t married yet. They don’t even get engaged. Until the fifth episode of the ones who live. Tiny mistake. Great video. Thanks for putting in the work.
The back pack, I think it’s a “oh sht, there it is thing” I know as intended when we as fans saw reoccurring things we’d blow it up online & writers love that. I’d buy into it but the lapse in Glen having it then not taking Lucille until few episodes later, I’d say highly likely not, just a prop reused that doesn’t tie in, although cool thought. The deer, I absolutely buy into this being an omen of SHTF, the walker who ate deer before attack at campsite, Carl with Otis, the dead one at prison with prisoner ofc, then one with sisters, Carol sees yet another or same one before Terminis sht show, Daryl seeing one before the storm, Carol killing the one that died in Whispers territory, Michonne killing one & Negan taking it, then Rick seeing it at high school carnival, I don’t think we ever saw a deer dead or alive that didn’t have something shortly after. The letter A, I can see where they’d wanted it to be a “trapped” situation. Or even I’m trapped but not for long. Other than 8 years Rick spent at CRM, remember in TOWL, Michonne said RJ is almost 8 not 10 n she was pregnant when Rick blew up bridge, so Rick was only with CRM for 8ISH years. Love the “make ya think” content tho, great job.
The backpack crops up when there is a decision to help a stranger or not. These times can be crossroads for characters. An orange traffic light is when you make a decision to stop or keep going. - The hitchhiker who is the original backpack owner dies from not being helped. He yells "please stop" but they keep going. - Carl has the backpack when his gun is given back to him. It was taken because he killed the unarmed boy. He could of let the boy live and he'd join their community. Hershel and Rick try to teach him to be a better judge of when he needs to shoot or not. - Glenn has it when he is faced with the decision to rescue Tara who was a stranger and an enemy. Initially he starts running away but stops and decides help her. - At Terminus the young guy with the dislocated shoulder is killed. He was a stranger that Rick and Carol failed to help previously. Rick wanted to help them and even asks them the 3 questions but Carol didn't think they were worth it. The girl he was with ends up dying. Rick then exiles Carol because she seems a little too dangerous to have around. Now they were at Terminus with no one to help them. Carol returns to save the day. (That reminds me of a story of a maid who is fired. She places a curse on the family and they have terrible luck until they rehire her. Just after Carol is exiled their home is destroyed. None of the main group die during that time but they all have real hard luck until Carol returns.) - At the church they helped Gabriel and Bob ends up dying (Michonne later uses this as the reason Aaron would want them to join his group. They we're the type of people who would help a priest, and Tara who was an enemy). The Terminus group are also killed. They promised sanctuary to strangers but had already made a decision to never trust or put their lives at risk to help anyone again. Gareth says to Rick "We used to help people". He implies as bad as Rick's experience has been it wouldn't come close to comparing to their own experience. Bob had begged Gareth not to butcher them at Terminus, and they still ate Bob's leg. Gareth was now on his knees begging for mercy. He doesn't offer them mercy as they wouldn't for anyone else. - Rick is wearing the backpack during the scene where he and the group are deciding whether to help Noah (who was a stranger to them) to find his family. They wouldn't even consider it but Beth had wanted him to get home. They had to consider her dying wish. There is a shot of Woodbury to show their fear of supposed secure communities. There is also no guarantee it's still there. They decide to help and find the community is gone. To their horror the people were all cut in half and put into a truck by the Wolves. While there Tyreese is bitten. Martin says to Tyreese his decision to leave him alive was a poor one. He says if he did kill him it might of had a domino effect and changed the future. Tyrese might not be dying right now. Bob disagrees and says it was all fated. Also just prior to the hitchhiker, Tyrese was originally a stranger that Rick refused to help. After Oscar died at Woodbury he didn't want to be responsible for him. That's the same reason they didn't help the hitchhiker. Afterwards Tyreese ends up in Woodbury and gave them intel on the prison. Now Rick had to deal with Tyreese's death because they helped a different stranger. That storyline came full circle. - When Daryl has the backpack Denise is killed by a stranger who Daryl chose to help. Daryl wishes he killed Dwight instead of helping him. Dwight agrees he should of. Dwight is a big key to ending the war so when Daryl has his chance to kill him he lets him live. - Carl helps Saddiq and is fatally bitten the process. He does it to show his father that ignoring strangers in need and hoping they are ok is not really that helpful. Carl was in the car when they passed the hitchhiker. As they pass there is a long close up on Carl and he looks conflicted about it. So it's another storyline that came full circle. Carl was the one who helped Tyreese and co. before his father came and scared them off. - Michonne was in the drivers seat when she didn't stop for the hitchhiker. When she was imprisoned by Virgil, there was no one to help her and she hallucinated herself in the shoes of the hitchhiker. - Virgil enters the show by saving Luke. Then they find his orange backpack. Later he stops to help Connie who was a stranger to him and nearly dies. - When Carol sees the smoke from the tank shooting the prison she quickly drives there. Along the way she passes a sign that says "Hitchhikers may be escaped prisoners". The moral being help someone and 4/7 times someone dies. Don't help and 3/4 of the time someone dies. So if you help a stranger in a zombie apocalypse there is a slightly greater chance someone will be saved without anyone being hurt, than if you don't help.
I almost gave up trying to figure out the deer connection. I was reading about animal symbology a few years ago. The deer symbolised God's protection. - First season Daryl is hunting the deer. The rest of the group is about to tell him his brother is on the roof. Meanwhile with walkers banging on the door Merryl pleads to Jesus to show him the way and he sees the hacksaw he frees himself with. It definitely has a cut off your hand to stop yourself sinning symbology. - Second season While looking for Carol's daughter, Rick asks God for a sign and the deer appeared. He tells Hershel he asked god a favor and his son was shot. Hershel asks him with Rick getting shot and was in a coma, and he came out and managed to find his family, then his son getting shot and surviving, if that doesn't tell him God is looking out for him. - Third season the prisoner uses the deer to lure the walkers and T-Dog is bitten. He says to Carol not to worry as it's God's plan. He will protect him like he always has. - Forth season, Carol really tries to convince Mika to kill people. Mika says she doesn't have to because everything works out the way it's supposed to ie. God's plan. Soon after the deer appears and she dies with her sister. Mika sees all people as essentially good regardless of their behavior. Lizzy sees all people and walkers with equality. In India this seeing everyone with equal vision is a state of enlightenment. They are both seeing beyond the mundane reality in different ways. I'd say the show is suggesting they are both advanced souls. Later they are seen in Tyrese's vision as he is dying, assuring him that everything is ok. - Seventh season they are desperate for guns. A deer appears that leads them to the fairground. Michonne is devastated when it appears like walkers swarm Rick. However he is protected by the deer that gets eaten instead. Then they have a discussion where Rick says Michonne can lose him. There is a relevant subtext to this conversation that I am not picking up on. - Tenth season Carol shoots a deer that crosses into Alpha's territory. Carol is annoyed that Daryl cares about honoring Alpha's border. Then a satellite falls out of the sky and causes a forest fire on Alpha's side. Everyone has to cross the border to extinguish the fire. The deer and the satellite was showing them not to be afraid of Alpha as they are protected by God.
I love deer so twd can be a hard watch, but i do think they are usually a good omen if you treat them well. Some believe that if you treat nature well then nature will favour you, i think thats why Carl survived the bullet and why Carol suffered more tragedy after trying to get Mica to kill one.
The first time we see an A is in season 2 when they are in the bar after dave and Tony are killed. The handle that turns from the outside right before Glenn shoots the window reveals an upside-down A on the handle. Its a blink and miss it moment
I stopped watching The walking Dead and I'm not really interested in it anymore but your videos make the walking dead so much more entertaining keep up the good work
I see that A and all I can think of is The Scarlet Letter, where it indicates adultery, sin, and shame. And sin or blood on their conscience is something TWD characters would have an abundance of.
black cats arent bad luck i own 3 myself they cross my path dozens of times daily and im happy with my life if anything they bring good fortune and happiness..
I was expecting the Grimes hat curse (explanation below) but the rest of these are cool The Grimes hat curse is basically just whoever wears Ricks hat gets shot Rick-1x01 gets shot Beth-5x08 Carl-6x09 gets shot Judith-11x23 RJ-better watch out in TOWL
One thing I found about season 2 deer you missed was that Shane was the meant victim of the deer making Carl weird and showing up to Randles at execution evidently making Shane handle it leading to their death. I thought about this the other day.
Who ever has the bag will die or have someone close to them die means nothing in TWD universe as literally anyone could die at any time bag or no bag lol its a silly theory 😅
The deer 100 percent is like a bad omen there’s a couple scenes where some of the people are really hungry haven’t eaten for days and they see a deer then follow it and try to hunt it but it ends up getting eaten by walkers or has been eaten by walkers when they find it again it kinda symbolizes like bad luck 🤷🏻♂️
Nah orange back pack isn’t just something we’re over thinking the people behind twd has made weapons and things to survive represent things before like ricks gun, the red machete , and Rick’s hat (representing Hope for the future)
I think the point of the pack is to simply show the different walks of life that use an object in the objects life time... think of it as what I call "idiopathic thrift probability"...

never stand between a man and his watch
Gotta admit, in the apocalypse losing track of time would be disastrous.
I would go mad if I didn't have some way to keep time.
Its also relevant ad the actors were the people to choose the watches they wore
Maybe in time 😂
Who watchers the watches- no, wait. .
Daryl also sees a deer carcass in season 5 before finding the barn and the tornado hitting while there in it.

At the prison Daryl killed a deer for the group . Michonne was carrying a deer over her shoulders to Alexandra . I think Neagen took it .
I think the backpack could be a godfather reference to the oranges being in a scene when something bad is about to happen
Interesting theory

Trapped in Spanish is "Atrapado(for males) Atrapada (for females) (A)

Damn thanks for staying up!
I did see the letter A in Terminus every time they run threw a open door
rather then idea of peace for the deers, i think it signifies being a prey instead.
Some examples:
Carl sees the deer and gets shot.
That's why one of the four MAIN gun rules is to know your target AND what is behind it BEFORE you shoot.
None of the main group die during that time but they all have real hard luck until Carol returns.)
- At the church they helped Gabriel and Bob ends up dying (Michonne later uses this as the reason Aaron would want them to join his group.
And sin or blood on their conscience is something TWD characters would have an abundance of.
black cats arent bad luck i own 3 myself they cross my path dozens of times daily and im happy with my life if anything they bring good fortune and happiness..
it stays incredibly clean and in great condition over all that time.
Do u think you could make longer videos? I listen to you to gts like it’s asmr ahahaha
Haha appreciate it mate! I have a couple longer videos like the whisperers, governor, and Saviors, and I have a few playlists aswell
I was expecting the Grimes hat curse (explanation below) but the rest of these are cool
The Grimes hat curse is basically just whoever wears Ricks hat gets shot
Rick-1x01 gets shot
Beth-5x08
Carl-6x09 gets shot
Judith-11x23
RJ-better watch out in TOWL
One thing I found about season 2 deer you missed was that Shane was the meant victim of the deer making Carl weird and showing up to Randles at execution evidently making Shane handle it leading to their death. I thought about this the other day.
Well said.
I do like the orange backpack as a symbol of burden. Whether it's intentional or not, I'm not sure, but I do like your theory.
Who ever has the bag will die or have someone close to them die means nothing in TWD universe as literally anyone could die at any time bag or no bag lol its a silly theory 😅
Anytime u post i click
Keep this intelligence coming!
The back pack is a plot device tho 3:47
The deer 100 percent is like a bad omen there’s a couple scenes where some of the people are really hungry haven’t eaten for days and they see a deer then follow it and try to hunt it but it ends up getting eaten by walkers or has been eaten by walkers when they find it again it kinda symbolizes like bad luck 🤷🏻♂️
the deer one makes sense
not trying to be that guy but, didnt Carl get shot in 2x1?
Yeah I mixed that up, the immediate aftermath is in 2x02
What’s the background music In the beginning of the video?
I believe it’s titled “feels” - by Patrick patrikios. You should be able to find it in the RUclips audio library.
@@Swell-Films thanks awesome video btw
Nah orange back pack isn’t just something we’re over thinking the people behind twd has made weapons and things to survive represent things before like ricks gun, the red machete , and Rick’s hat (representing Hope for the future)
I think you may be right on all of these. I believe they jus throw a curve ball.
Probably just kept the same backpack to avoid buying another one
If the deer theory is correct then it was a clever way to fake out the audience in the carnival yard scene. 😂
I think the point of the pack is to simply show the different walks of life that use an object in the objects life time... think of it as what I call "idiopathic thrift probability"...
I haven't watched the video yet but I bet being a side character who suddenly gets a lot of character development is on here
I do like the A theory
What about S4E2 when Rick finds woman in forest and mistakes her for a walker because she’s willing to eat a dead rotten deer?
"A" is that for abuse, or a scarlet letter for adultery?
Great Video & Yikes, these Omens made the hair on my body stand up😱💨
