My dad worked 6 days a week for 12 hrs a day my entire childhood. He owned rental property. He used to bring me to work with him when I was a young kid. He had me answer his car phone, shoot pigeons with a BB gun which were causing damage, and Saturday was free dump day to get rid of junk people left when they moved out. Anyway, the point is: I agree with you. I learned it from my dad.

I'm 18, and I've been out of high school for nearly a year. I have an apartment, a new car, and I pay 100% of my Bill's myself. My peers seem astonished about it, but it's really not that difficult. I havent worked less than 60 on a week since I became an adult. I grew up poor as well. That was my chief motivation.

I've worked an average of 900 hrs OT last 3 yrs. But took the extra money, became debt free, started prepping & stacking metals...alot of effort, but with focus, life changing. I work with lazy people, and they are always complaining about things they can change. Great video, never give up!

I saw this vid the first time James posted it and commented. This is 100% truth, can't make it happen sitting in front of the TV! I know people that bitch if their boss ask them to work 45 hours a week, all while they can barely keep food on the table. I was a electrical contractor for years with 30+ employees, worked with them through the day then done engineering jobs and my office work nights and weekends. Eventually dissolved that business because I was tired of babysitting grown ass men that acted like 8th grade school girls. Work the next 8 years 40 hours a week at a engineering firm and 60+ hours a week with my architectural engineering business. Went full time with my engineering business and go at it pretty much 7 days a week, days start at 3:30 am with a 30 minute work out, shower then work until 7:30 pm or later. I worked my ass off to build at client base and will work as needed to keep that client base along with adding more clients along the way. I enjoy what I do, 12+ hours a day is just an average work day. Working 8 hours a day would now feel like a vacation!

Words well said. As an O/O truck driver I have people commenting all the time on how I get all the "good" runs. There ARE no "good" runs, their are only runs and if you won't do it then you'll obviously make less than the people who will. I've had a couple of businesses for various reasons but if you want them to work then you MUST be willing to work them. Even as an employee, if you want the respect and dedication of your employer, then you have to make that relationship work by WORKING and not always whining about how you're going to miss the Super Bowl or some dumb ass shit like that. Now if it's your daughter's wedding, that's a different story. I'm sure you've never let those times be missed because when you WORK you earn the resources and respect to be able to take time for the important things in life.

My folks were all Great Depression survivors. No vacations (unless you count hunting season)... They had a lifestyle that's almost disappeared : including growing and raising lots of food; saving money and only spending a bare minimum; organizated and driven; punctual; and being very honest; keeping their word, etc....

@@troydodson4837 You're not stupid for saving. And, yes, you'll probably see some kind of economic collapse in your lifetime. I pray that God will help you young people ( including my children, too) to live to see 2100.

I was so poor I lived in an old trailer. Every time we had a snow on the roof the rafters would pop and crack.then I got in the coal mine and put in ten hours a day six days a week. My wife and kids are much better off now. It's all been worth it.
