You paint very brautifully and very realisticaly . . I am 82 years old but I like to learn to paint for a hobby to fill my empty hours that is why I watch you and orher painting tutors. I am learning from you gor free, thank you.
When you painted the dark buttes behind the foreground ones, I could envision an area between them that was of a snow - covered field. I could also see a "future" dark - blue lake between there. This is such a pretty painting. And, it's something I'll definitely be using tips from to make a "sunset" painting from. TY for sharing your knowledge and techniques with us. 👍
Chuck, I find what you call rambling, to be by far the most valuable aspect of these videos. The technique you developed is very easy to understand when you explain it and so I have a clear direction to strive. That is what makes me want to keep coming back to the easel.
The painting, as always, is gorgeous!!! Chuck, I'm loving these real-time vids!!! They're more than a tutorial, or demonstration - they're an insight, into what you're thinking and planning, as you go, along with the description of what you're doing, as you're doing it. The split screen, with the pallet alongside the painting, is a valuable resource, too. It allows the viewer a constant reference to the colours, and how they look when applied to the canvas. That actually puts the viewer "there", as the painting develops. You looked a bit worn out, by the end of the vid, so it's evident you put a lot of yourself into your paintings. I really appreciate your efforts in getting the videos uploaded, so we all can watch you work your magic. I realise your work doesn't end, with the making of the video, too - you still have to upload it, with all that goes into that, and clean up, after you're finished painting for the day. That is a lot of sacrifice, to allow everyone that wants to watch, to learn from you. THANK YOU!!!!! A lot of people really appreciate all that you do, and are willing to share. Get some rest, enjoy life, and we'll all look forward to the next video...like tomorrow :-} Yeah...I know...you gotta be thinking, "What's this fool smokin'!?" Hadda throw that in there >:-} Take Care
Hah! I appreciate all that Mark. Very helpful to get that sort of feedback. And nice to see you recognize the work involved! You're most welcome however it is truly my pleasure. I will certainly do more moving forward
Gorgeous as usual!!! Your art and artistic talent just blows me away!!!! Thank you for Bringing sunshine into my life through your art!!!! In my opinion, A world without art would be a very dark place.
Your clouds are always amazing. As you work through them I'll be thinking that it looks great. Then you decide to go back through changing a little of this and that and the results are incredible. And adding the oils is the icing on the cake. You're very talented. I hope to have a speck of your talent someday.
Chuck watching you paint is like watching a magician perform magic! Your techniques are amazing and the results are gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing your talent!!! And thank you for the play by plays they really help!!!💕
You are such a great teacher! Very detailed & really appreciate your real time instructions & your work is wonderful! Thank you for inviting us into your creativity!
"The spatial recognition of the overall viewing plane, bisects the contour characteristics of base ground weave, however interceding on the extended axis of the pigments procured. " Thanks Chuck, the statement above is how I used to tackle a painting(more or less). Watching these latest longer videos lets me know I gotta relax. Its just not that complicated is it. Thanks again
Needless to say, as always, amazing work. Many thanks for sharing this tutorial with us. Your detailed description of the layering process involved in painting a sky in acrylics (and the learning process) REALLY helped and encouraged me. You're the best.
Chuch, that painting is breathtaking. Its one thing for me to see a final painting hanging there, but to see it being made and to hear the story in context! Man, very powerful. You inspire me. By the way, art critics are a derivative of art. They won't be remimbered, but you may well be.
Gosh, your blending with acrylics is amazing. This went to my "art to do" list. I'm spinning bee hive frames this weekend. Hopefully can paint beginning of the week. Happy October, and thank you soooo much for sharing your talent with us!!
You are an excellent painting teacher! I really enjoy the way you explain step by step how to paint oh, I am a beginner and I am learning a lot from your tutorials ! just wanted to say thank you🤗
Even though I just KNOW I won't be able to achieve this level of precision and quality of my paintings before at least 5 more years of painting, I WILL STILL WATCH YOUR VIDEOS and procrastinate my homework just "because I'm learning" 😂
If you believe that you can achieve this level of detail and realism or you believe you can not, you are right. Believe in yourself, there is greatness in each of us. Let yours shine.
All we can ever do is our best. I've found that with each of my paintings I've ever done, each one gets better than the previous. While it may take a long time also for me to be able to paint as good as Mr. Black does, I'm not gonna just put a timeline on the day or date I will get there. What I'm saying is how you may soon become a wonderful painter, yourself - maybe sooner than you think !!! So, don't ever give up. 👍

Hi Chuck. Glad to see the longer video! Nice change from the norm. The trouble I have is not remembering what the original painting looks like. It’s hard to put the whole picture in my mind as you paint. For me I guess a couple of peeks at the reference photo or finished painting would be helpful. Your sunset painting is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing! 🌅🎨
What's the purpose of spraying the sketch with a fixative ? I know he says the fixative "seals" the sketch. But, does it really need to be sealed like that ? I've never seen that done before, so, I'm just wondering.
as always stunning and wonderful painting.I so want to paint but my "studio" is currently occupied by my daughters sewing machine , working on her cosplay clothes. Its will getting better ...Thank you anyway for many many great tutorial and pictures. I hope you get this time a bit more when you send this on ebay. Its a shame to sell such for under 400 Bucks!!!
Funny I had that photo as a background on my PC for a long time. Never got around to painting it though, maybe some day. I know your video will help me if I ever do try.
Hey it's October!! 🎃🎃🎃
Hey but October is my birthday month 😞
Beautiful painting chuck.
Is that a spray fixative that doesn't require ventilation and can be used indoors, or are you just a badass (or both)?
Chuck Black Art can you please do an October themed painting
Beautiful painting Chuck! I really wish I had, even a lil bit of, your colour mixing ability! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! (I'm Canadian) 😁
Great painting. I miss your video about using black paint.

Good to see an artist who provides good tutorials for free instead of putting them behind a pay wall like Patreon or Vimeo. Thank you.

Wow you have such talent also 101st comment
Your blending of acrylics almost looks like it's an oil painting effect. Is that why you use the glazing bottle for. Your work is beautiful God bless.
Do you use slow drying medium or water? That blended so well
You need to get with a gallery! Your works can get more $ than ebay!
as always stunning and wonderful painting.I so want to paint but my "studio" is currently occupied by my daughters sewing machine , working on her cosplay clothes. Its will getting better ...Thank you anyway for many many great tutorial and pictures. I hope you get this time a bit more when you send this on ebay. Its a shame to sell such for under 400 Bucks!!!
Do you do cityscapes? Would like to watch how you would do one. Thanks!
Your blocked in painting looks better than most of my finished paintings. 🤣🤣

Which canvas do you use?
Ok chuck please educate me here why the fixitive? Does that help the acrilic?
