"Yesterday, I had a dream... A dream I have had since long ago. In that dream, we had yet to turn 13. We were in a vast countryside, completely covered with snow. The lights of the houses extended far into the distance, a dazzling sight. We walked on the thick caprpet of fresh snow, but did not leave any footprints. And like that... 'Someday we will be able to watch the cherry blossoms together again'. Both of us, without any doubt... Thats what we thought. "
This song hits home so hard now. Finally deciding to leave someone I loved for two years. My best friend, my partner, my whole world. I AM her at the end of the movie. This whole love story is us. Younger and so full of love and then somewhere along the line...it just didn't work. How sad it is to have someone who meant so much to you and now they're just a memory.
@@lan77997 I forgot I even commented this, wow! He was a good man for sure. But I was so broken I had no idea how to love him. I’ve since healed immensely and married a man much more perfect for me. In short, yes. It got so much better. Thank you for asking!!
Every time I finish watching this film I keep telling myself to show it to more people...in my opinion it conveys such a powerful message. It's bittersweet and constantly succeeds in moving me to tears....Shinkai is a fabulous film maker, and my role model.
We, who were small and sickly at the time, preferred the library over the playground. And because of this, we were teased by our classmates. But when we were together, we didn't seem to affected by those things... T-T It brings it all back!
actually if you listen very closely, this is a variation of "Ending Theme," particularly at 0:40 in "Ending Theme." But this is a very unique variation nonetheless. =)
Maybe it's just me, but for some reason, this song always seemed to have so much more depth than the others, despite that it carries bits of the melody from the other songs. It has so much feeling...it's amazing how Tenmon can cram all of that emotion in a such a simple song. Fantastical, really. Plus, this scene in the movie was particularily beautiful. But that's just an opinion (:
I´m going to play this on my piano, I don´t think that I´ll be near as good as this here, but I just have to play it for myself^^, because it´s so touching and so good and... I can´t say what a masterpiece it is^^
Somehow everytime a watch this movie, I feel a tingling feeling inside, sad, yet as though sharing my pain of life and all, a feeling i just cant describe. Its as though the movie shares the pain of 'letting go'. This movie's ending was realistic, after all not everything in real life can be happily ever after. IN life one must learn to let go. The beautiful soundtracks, amazing art, tear jerking story, its a must watch. Depicts the true beauty of slice-of-life stories.
The moment the first piano note is played, it's like outta nowhere, a surge of happiness fills my heart. The movie is a masterpiece, no matter how many times I watch it with others to share the magic, I never grow tired of it.
Its such an amazing love story but its a shame its a sad ending, Its a love that wasn't expressed in time and when they realised it, it was too late because they have both lost each other.
wow this makes me feel stupid for what i never did before im glad i found this it teaches a lesson that should never be forgotten i love this film very much
It's a terribly sad movie, but it is beautiful at the same time. I have seen it twice, and both times I have cried my guts out. But I fell in love with it just how Tono fell in love with Shinohara.
Chloe Celestia The Tradegy in 5cm per second isn't that mucht he movie itself but how one can relate, As i was in a long distance relationship myself i can relate so its a fucking tearsqueezer for me. But someone who's like Heyy i get every guuuuurl and is insensitive wont see that movie apealing.
+Lurker1979 If you have 15... is easy to think like this, but if you are becoming or already become an adult... you'll understand the real meaning of this movie...
I watched this movie with my boyfriend and I always have to cry when I listen to one of the songs, cause we're in a long distance relation ship too... I MISS HIM SO MUCH!
@StayinOnePiece 2 is by far the best episode imo, only because is shows perspective from another one's eyes on their relationship. you'll have to watch it to know what I mean.
@ultimateearner Even though they're all the same 2 variations, the mood is different in every song. So it's sort of like it doesn't matter what you play, but how you play it. It goes along with this phrase, "It doesn't matter what you say, but how you say it."
i saw episode 1 and 3 so that ruined things for me. couldn't bring myself to watch episode 2. And damn that ending's painful like a cliff hanger, but that's what makes it so great too.
Weird because I actually have the phone of my crush but never send him message cause of nervousness... Maybe me and Takaki should switch places so he can send the messages to Akari...
I just got my heart fucking broken over a girl that took some guy that tried to force her into sex over me.. I broke my back for her.I gave her something that meant alot to me.. People have given me advice. But nothing speaks louder to me than the piano from this film.

Ah, the part where Takaki write message to Akari on his cellphone, but never sends it because the dude doesn't know her cellphone number.
💀💀

I know I'm 3 years late. But if you really loved him, why did you decide to let him go? Things work out when you want it to work out.
You might not reply but I'll just ask, are you doing well now after 5 years? Did anything change for better or worse?

True. I felt eternal longing by this soundtrack

Certainly
man... that ending... the piano.. i feel for takaki.. akari forgot about him long ago and he's still thinking of her

where did you find the sheet music?
love is like a dream...one you wake up from too early, feeling depressed.

...I came here from a link in an ao3 fanfic... it's beautiful though!

sooo touching...

This makes me cry more than poetry...and that says a lot.
I saw someone on the internet who claimed, Naruto is more of a tear jerker than this movie. What was that person smoking?
yeah baking soda perhaps ;)
As much as I like Naruto, you're right. The tragedy in this movie was far better-written then the backstories in Naruto.

I watched this movie with my boyfriend and I always have to cry when I listen to one of the songs, cause we're in a long distance relation ship too... I MISS HIM SO MUCH!
"without a doubt" "forever" that's what you think..
but time and life reminds you that nothing is yours, and what is borrowed must be returned
this movie made me feel nostalgic...its a bittersweet feeling :(
gorgeous...
1:15 on is just heart tugging... dont get me wrong the rest of the song is great as well but ..
@StayinOnePiece 2 is by far the best episode imo, only because is shows perspective from another one's eyes on their relationship. you'll have to watch it to know what I mean.
miss someone so much......this is the movie's theme.
@ShadowDaPk i think i love the ending, its so realistic and shows us what we have to treasure in life.
right after I just watch this movie
I delete this movie from my hard disk
it just too sad to remember :(
❤
i totally feel ya
that's why i love anime.....
Miss you forever

Anyone know where I can get the sheet music for this?
@SyaoranXiaoLi
It does come in English, but I think the only way to easily get it is to order it online unless you can find it on an anime website...
I felt very sorry for Kanae =(
yeah, but because I like different things. I usually prefer watching something in english after japanese.
@ShadowDaPk I think the same about more than one month after watching this movie
i wish i could download/buy this movie with dutch subs :''(
Weird because I actually have the phone of my crush but never send him message cause of nervousness... Maybe me and Takaki should switch places so he can send the messages to Akari...
so i can actually understand it O_o
@171717yoshi I feel your pain man. This movie brought about some feelings. At least to me it did
