easily the best movie i have ever watched. it's happy, mad, lonely, depressed. most of the feelings people feel are in this movie. it's just so real and beautiful. and so sad to know that events in the movie rally happen in real life.
That enthusiastic feeling that you get while listening to this masterpiece. The joy, the determination, the guts, and the courage to accomplish your dreams all of a sudden show up. Love this movie :')
This track was my favorite from the movie other than the ending song. When this song played as Kanae surfed under the sun, I thought the setting for the song in the movie and the song's title was just so fitting and brilliant!
This is probably one of the best pieces of music in the entire movie. The scenes where they play this are also well chosen. When you watch it you can't help but feel the same hope and energy as Kanae.
I had this playing on my phone when I first stepped off the plane at Osaka airport. It was a couple days before my birthday, and I had finally realized my dream of setting foot in Japan. Something I’d wanted to do since middle school.
This song makes me feel like I'm soaring in the sky, over the sea, like a bird as the sun rises. I feel ever free with this combination of sky and sea, as the title proposes...
it has been over 10 years since the movie came out and I saw it, but I still remember this tune very well and still sometimes come back to listen to it.
We, who were small and sickly at the time, preferred the library over the playground. And because of this, we were teased by our classmates. But when we were together, we didn't seem to affected by those things... T-T It brings it all back!
at 0:00-0:08 I am literally in another universe. Flying through the abyss occasionally hitting a hydrogen atom every now and then.... at 5km per second.
This is my absolute favorite piece, it feels hopeful, joyful, and happy, I love it, and this piece isn't another version of one more time, one more chance lol
AAAHHHH THE FEELS NO MAH HEART UUHHHH TOHNO YOU SHOULD'VE TRIED HARDER THEN YOU'D HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BE WITH AKARI FOREVER BUT NO I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR GIVING UP SO EASILY JUST KERWGIHWBKLEGRDF
I know how you feel lol, but eventually (and unfortunately) you run out of things to say and feelings are already stretched apart, making things difficult. Trust me...
Long distance relationship is one of the hardest you know. People change. And sometimes no matter how you try it's not gonna work. Some can conquer it but mostly, they cannot.
everybody who watched the anime or in love with the soundtracks are very imaginative. we see scenes, we feel something. it is like we are being connected somehow.
This song makes me feel like waking up in a bright sunny morning, and getting straight to my kitchen, making a ham sandwitch and slowly eat it while the rest of the music plays. LOL :D
Yes. That is correct. Even if it's only an animation, when you look at it, it feels like more real than reality. That is the power of Makoto Shinkai's and Hayao Miyazaki's films.
Can you feel the wind rushing past you, the sound and smell of the salty sea beneath your wet feet? The fleeting sadness and overwhelming hope fill your heart? Can you see the bright blue sky above you? Off in the distance, can you see her? Smiling with her soft lips that you once kissed? -- that's what this song asks me whenever I listen to it.
Well, being a musician also includes being yourself. Just like the title, writing music is a poem, it's supposed to be played/read. Sure, things here are bad, but I won't give up on the music I want to show. Also, just because someone laughs at you doesn't mean it's bad, they firstly didn't understand it. There's music that makes me laugh, but it has the feelings of laughter. These OST's from 5 Cm/s make me feel happy and sad at the same time.
@aquapendulum Oh...I didn't think of that. But, 500 Days of Summer is an independent film haha. I'm not sure Hollywood will make a film with this kind of atmosphere or message at the point it's at right now @.@
i wanna ask the producer or the guy who came up with the story what the story means to him/her. i feel like there's a lot of discrete and small things that happened in the movie that hold a lot of value. i wanna know more!
Cheers, I hear it now. I had shitty ass earphones a week ago. Just upgraded. Couldn't hear it because it was on the G string (actually I initially thought it was a viola because of how low it was).
@aquapendulum Wow... I never saw that movie... But I tend to have very harsh criticisms for movies. So I know a good movie when I see one even if it is a small part or even a summary. Well I read the Wikipedia entry on the movie and well how should I put it.... it's brilliant. Rarely has a movie this well been made. In fact that is why I watch anime, because the quality is just so much better. I loved the ending with Autumn. Truly symbolized moving on, just like in 5cm per second.
easily the best movie i have ever watched.

映画のシーンを思い出して鳥肌が立つ
you are correct. that's actually one of the reasons why this is my favorite song of the soundtrack.
This is probably one of the best pieces of music in the entire movie. The scenes where they play this are also well chosen. When you watch it you can't help but feel the same hope and energy as Kanae.
I think this is one of the most uplifting pieces of music I've ever heard. It really just does sound like the boundless sky.
I had this playing on my phone when I first stepped off the plane at Osaka airport.
It was a couple days before my birthday, and I had finally realized my dream of setting foot in Japan. Something I’d wanted to do since middle school.
congrats on achieving your dream, I hope you are doing well now

You just commenting this everywhere then XD?
Seems have commented this then
How can a song give me goose bump EVERY TIME?
Idk :/
One of the best songs in the movie (after Distant Everyday Memories). This needs more love.
So many emotions generated within such a short period of time. Amazing!
a few typhoons have blown through the islands already, and some of my classmates have taken to wearing light jackets on their ride to school.
I get the chills EVERY time I listen to this song. Absoutley amazing.
at 0:00-0:08 I am literally in another universe. Flying through the abyss occasionally hitting a hydrogen atom every now and then.... at 5km per second.
+Ian Slazinik This is beautiful!
Are you Carl Sagan? That was beautiful :)
One of my favorites. Well, the whole freaking soundtrack to this masterpiece is my favorite.
But this ost is still amazing.
This is my absolute favorite piece, it feels hopeful, joyful, and happy, I love it, and this piece isn't another version of one more time, one more chance lol
That's right
Are ALL themes versions of one more time one more chance
2021 and still on the song cuz it is just so beautiful and breathtaking and feels like I am soaring through the skies and seas.
this is so good
The CD is very beautiful, I really love that scene.

everybody who watched the anime or in love with the soundtracks are very imaginative. we see scenes, we feel something. it is like we are being connected somehow.
this is an amazing piece, i should make it my alarm in the morning; that would really give waking up a positive feeling
this is sooo beautiful the soundtrack for 5 centimeters per second is the best ive ever heard
The name of the chapter of an adult Kanae...
Guys, if you haven't read the manga yet, you definitely should.
It really is good and fills in a lot of holes in the movie.
indeed
I literally cried when I found this song!
I loved that movie so much!
GJ!
This is music to wake up by. Something to tell you that the day is new and full of potential.
Wow, if you listen to the whole soundtrack of this movie, this is the most outstandingly "happy" track. :D
No, it's depressing
I agree... When I close my eyes, it's like im floating between clouds and birds, with the sun looking down on me. Beautiful.
Perfectly perfect!
ah yes, the only comment in 2022
and im still crying to this movie:')
That's exactly what Kanae felt when this was being played. Since I rode that wave I can definitely tell Tono that love him!
Act two, so much more painful for me.
ur soo right this song is like a little piece of heaven...
this movie was sooo BEAUTIFUL!!!!
yea it does. If i could wake up to this i dont think i would have any bad days.
I watched both movies this week. They are both great, but i also think 5 cm/s is the deeper and better one.
This song makes me feel like waking up in a bright sunny morning, and getting straight to my kitchen, making a ham sandwitch and slowly eat it while the rest of the music plays. LOL :D
Anime is able to give you the deepest insight any reality Hollywood movie cannot give
Love the movie, love the music.
Listen to it as loud as you can... I started to cry right now
i love the start of this piece the most.
Yes. That is correct. Even if it's only an animation, when you look at it, it feels like more real than reality. That is the power of Makoto Shinkai's and Hayao Miyazaki's films.
hahah i soo agree. my days would be peaceful and happy. ohhh. if only i can wake up to this, that means i wont ever wake up again. xP
nice song, i can see the sky and sea from here...
This song is like a burst of realization in your own world. :)
This song for some reason just gives me hope O_o; lots of it
I'm flying
Beautiful!!!
Just watched the movie yesterday so yeah, best romance anime i ever watch. Very touching and sad. I must say that this is a must watch anime movie.
I don't know why, but this song makes me feel so happy and content

Makes me wanna jump on a train and explore the world, (kiddish dream) So awesome!
I Love It!!
This song is the mixture of sad, happy and hope ...
the girl who leapt through time and this movie is both great i like them both
Love that movie and Zooey Deschannel.
I think this is the best of the best for a song

Can you see the bright blue sky above you? Off in the distance, can you see her? Smiling with her soft lips that you once kissed? -- that's what this song asks me whenever I listen to it.
I'm really in live with this song!!
Great music
still like this music.2022
*Há quem me julgue perdido,porque ando a ouvir🎶 estrelas.Só quem ama tem ouvido para ouvi-las e entende-las*
My first love song. I miss her.
This song sounds... hopeful.
Love it when the violin comes in at 0:08
When you're at your highest point in life, but also simultaneously your lowest.
I cry evertim ;_;
Yes, remember the sun start shining and the song play
this song is too short、 残念!
Feels like your in an open field riding a bicycle with the love of your life ;)
this is overwhelming....

hopeful music. 2021
My god, it would be amazing if my band could play this! Or at least the percussion would. If my school did this, it would be like a dream come true.
Agree.
Some day Makoto Shinkai will finish the story 5 Centemeters Per Second even the manga isn't finished.
how ... gorgeous I think ... ^^
Makes me wanna run outside and just DO something, or acheive a dream.
I cry ever tim
@aquapendulum Oh...I didn't think of that. But, 500 Days of Summer is an independent film haha. I'm not sure Hollywood will make a film with this kind of atmosphere or message at the point it's at right now @.@
@aquapendulum I just watched it, because of your comment, it's now one of my favourites. =]
i wanna ask the producer or the guy who came up with the story what the story means to him/her. i feel like there's a lot of discrete and small things that happened in the movie that hold a lot of value. i wanna know more!
The closest thing to 5 cm/s that Hollywood has ever made is 500 Days Of Summer.
And it's good.
September 2020 anyone ?
Yes
@@chandrarajgupta2335 ayy finally found someone in 2020 lol, have a good day bro
The only positive vibe melody in the track
At times like this I really wish I knew how to play cello.
Cheers, I hear it now. I had shitty ass earphones a week ago. Just upgraded. Couldn't hear it because it was on the G string (actually I initially thought it was a viola because of how low it was).
finally something different
there was a fly next to my comp, and when the song got to 1:30, it started spazzing lol
@aquapendulum I agree
This show reminds me of Serendipity in feel and atmosphere minus the good ending. This wins for the awesome soundtrack though.
beautiful T_T
need this ost like 10mins 30mins or hour :D
@niulicious yes, the beginning so intense.
