    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  9 месяцев назад +2

      @UCk-OG9Ci33dyNKZXajCEzrA X100VI is experience oriented camera, the X-S20 is pragmatic camera, so the user experience is the fundamental difference. The specs are secondary with the X100VI. You need to figure out what is more important for you. You also need to decide whether you want to change lenses. I'm not sure where the "lens cannot resolve 40 MP" myth comes from, but it is a complete nonsense, as you can see in the sharpness test in this video.

      Lens is fine. We take photographs not curate art works…..
      A French guy did a very detailed video YT video on the lens and its resolution. It was close on a 35mm Leica. See Ken Rockwell tests too. As Rockwell says, it’s the shooter not the optic. I tend to use the ‘double the aperture rule’ for optimum sharpness so that’s F4 on this camera. The central crop to 50mm on the digital zoom has a similar effect. So I use F2 or 2.8 on that which is good for portraits.
      For real world work the lens is up to the job. Otherwise get an MF film camera and spend a fortune on film and scanning.

    Thanks for the review. I'm glad to know about this camera I will never buy. As a Fuji shooter, I'm glad Fuji is enjoying success with this model, but to me the specs are overkill and the hype is frankly puzzling. I guess it's a very interesting and fun camera for people who may not intend to use other Fujifilm cameras. That was my intention when I purchased the X100F 6 years ago, but I quickly migrated to the interchangeable lens cameras. With the X-Pro-3, X-T4 and X-E4 now my mainstay gear, I hardly use the X100F anymore and see no need to upgrade to a 40 MP X100VI. Moreover, I find the X-Pro3 as "fun" to use (and perhaps more) as the X100F. With either of the Fuji 18mm f2 and 27mm f2.8 lenses or the new Voightlander 18mm f2.8 and 27mm f2 pancake lenses, an X-Pro-3 or X-E4 can quickly mutate into a more versatile X100 kit. Your mileage may vary. (and the price will also differ, of course)

    Finally, the video I've been waiting for. I know IBIS is great and all but the less limitations of one camera only remove the fun off of it. I enjoy my X-E4 with XF 18mm f2 more than my X100V and X-T5 with 23mm f1.4 WR that means the X100VI is not for me. My new favorite FUJIFILM right now is XF10.

      Thanks your reply. Did you watch Tony Northrups video and what he says about IQ. He basically says that we don‘t get more real resolution from the 40 mp due to the lens. Samuel streetlife found that the Ricoh GRIIIx is having more details at 24 mp !
      It‘s also my experience when comparing. But maybe my view of IQ is relative to other cameras and you‘re saying it‘s just good ? What do you mean actually by saying that the RX1RII is not a contender ?
      Thanks for all the work you‘re doing. You are so calm and rational in your videos which I like.

      @@Alexandrosflower No, I did not and will not watch that video :) That is factually wrong, I have compared X100VI and X100V on my testing scene this morning to make sure. I have never used GR IIIx but I don't believe that it is possible to get anywhere near that amount of detail with 24 MP.
      I didn't really have to adjust my expectations to say that the X100VI lens is very solid, it is above average even among removable lenses that I have tested.
      DSC-RX1R II is a full frame camera with much lower pixel density which cost almost 3 times as much when it was new (inflation adjusted).

      I am piqued on rx1rii but I considered it ‘obsolete’ without Sony’s plan to continue the lineage. I heard good things about the sensor & lens but read many complaints about battery and it is not weather sealed. It’s priced in between X100 and Leica Q2, and I rather have Q2. But if Sony ever updates the series and incorporate new tech, battery & weather sealing, I will certainly seriously consider it.
