All of the FMS racing planes share the same esc and motor combo. I've got the Voodoo P51 Mustang and swapped out the 4s battery for a SMC HV 6s 2400MAH pack, and replaced the stock 4 blade prop with a 2 blade APC 10X6E prop, and now it easily achieves speeds around 130mph.
Excellent Flying, especially with the tough conditions in trying to land. Thank you Captain Steve for showing us how to make repairs. Very Interesting.
I've flown my drones thousands of times. If I bought something like this, I would probably fly it twice, and then it would spend the next 10 years in it's box.
You need to practice cross-cordinating your turns so they are much flatter on the final. Otherwise, you will stall the wing in such steep banks at low speed. Turns on the final should almost be flat with lots of ruder and opposite aileron and throttle to keep the airspeed up cause the cross coordinating causes lots of drag.s
Perfect video from all aspects . Many thanks. @5:19 super smooth flaying pass and go around . I liked it . @9:15 yes that missing yellow part isn’t important but it can rebuild by making exact template made of glow & resin . You just restore it 100% as before 👍🏻
I am glad you mentioned in the top corner what time of the year it was filmed because most Americans think Canada looks like this all year round.😅😂 Do you think it would have faired better in the summer? At least everything wouldn't be so brittle, also the angle you came in at was pretty aggressive. The front gear agrees with that.😅😂 Anyways it is a sexy looking plane. Hopefully they listen to your input and address the gear. Also laughed when I looked at the thumbnail. Destory??? You hit so hard that it just destroy it!!!😅😂😅😂
I flew that plane all summer 2023 without incident. As mentioned in the video, when flying on ice one can’t tell where the sky ends and the ice begins.
Holy Crash umm Holy Crap Captain!!!, thank goodness you clarified the Video recording date!; I initially thought "Global Cooling" had come to Canada !!!!; regardless, great looking RC and last but not least, good to see the the Pilot survived the crash landing !!!!!
When you watched the video of the flight, all that camera footage from on the plane was from the insta360 GO camera, so yes it was indeed recovered or else you would not have seen such footage.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Sorry for my "open mouth insert foot" moment. I was tired when watching the video and I guess my brain already shut down for the night!
I've flown RC planes for the better part of 36 years. Never owned an already made plane but I've probably built 50 or more planes over the years. Balsa wood, Xacto knife cuts, CA and epoxy and covering. I turned 4 of those back into kit form, never feels good, although I imagine the sting wouldn't be so bad if it were a premade kit ;)
There are some goofy channels on RUclips where they do exactly that so that they can record the speed with a hiway radar gun...and then announce top speed of the plane model. Silly.
Agreed, it's fairly meaningless number. I also wish folks would be a bit more clear when they are doing speed tests using a compact GPS recorder onboard. These will always record the highest speed achieved during flight so any winds present will add to the top speed recorded. If you have a consistent 10 mph wind you should basically subtract that value from whatever the GPS unit recorded as top speed.
Can't wait for more mini warbirds from hobby zone/ horizon their last mustang was a HIT! I would love to see retracts on more mini and micro umx planes and jets....sub250g it more popular than ever now let's hope companies will listen🙏🏼🤞🏼 great plane cap👍🏼✌🏼
Did you find your camera that you put on the canopy? I don’t recall you mentioning what happened to it. Enjoyed the video and am glad you didn’t completely destroy the plane. 👍👍😀
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Let's see, I said that it is a beginner's mistake, not that you are a beginner, it sounds similar but it is not, I have been in the hobby since 1983 and sometimes I miss some mistakes out of confidence. I'm sorry if my opinion was not well expressed, greetings

As a prior mentioned; former Canadian 🇨🇦 here. Good to see that the Ottawa river is still there.
A big advantage of RC-piloting vs Full Scale ( FS )-piloting; with RC you don't get hurt, except perhaps psychologically (?).
When you wrote "Destory" I thought it was the end of the "story". Tough plane. Great job 👍

If you're not crashing, you're not flying!
So true!
Awesome! Would love to see more "fix it" vids. Not that I want you to crash more stuff...

Tough lill plain, but crashes happen I've had my share of them(most were worse).
Thanks for showing the repair. You make it look easy. Just curious if you’ve flown it since the repair. How’d the repair hold up?
Yes, it has been flown many times since the repairs

Hi. Have you made any videos with techniques, methods or tips for attaching cameras to RC airplanes? like insta or gopro? thanks for your time.
People only attach small cameras to planes. All are attached with either Velcro or double sided tape.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thank you very much.
nice rebuild - looked toast - what is the GPD module you add to the planes.? Thanks

It looks good, I really like it. I'm mostly into helicopters, and drones. But it is a sweet looking airplane. Thanks for sharing Steve. 👍👍👍
11:20 That is not a P-51. A P-39 should have a 3 bladed prop. But you should change to a 2 blade if you want more performance.
P51 and P39 made by Flight/FMS use similar if not same parts
Fun video ! 😃
Cool plane and a great review and demo .
The repair job is worth the price of admission!!
Thanks Cap !!
Thank you!

Hi please review about pavo20 pocket. Thanks.
Man the weather up there is crazy!
One day I’m covered in sunscreen & the next I’m covered in ice… Crazy 😂
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 🤣
Man, these Canadian cold snaps are nasty!
Yup, they sure sneak up on ya!
Are you turning with rudder?
I’m an FPV drone pilot so absolutely
Luv the follow up. The repair was helpful.
Thanks 👍
Yeah, it's a small pet peeve of mine to watch people testing top speed by diving the aircraft.

Shes been hot in Sarnia this week Steve thanks for the winter video it helped to keep me cool lol
We had the same heatwave. It is rare that I'm not outside, but when it gets crazy hot, I stay indoors.

nice plane, nice crash, you are mad flying in that weather but this one is not for me, it's made my day. great review again Steve.
Did you find your camera that you put on the canopy? I don’t recall you mentioning what happened to it. Enjoyed the video and am glad you didn’t completely destroy the plane. 👍👍😀
Yes, that is how I was able to show you the footage of the flight from the camera in this video.
I like the set up looks fun
So good u do reviews, otherwise all these crashes u will be broke. Hahaha
Just needed flaps applied steve for slow flight, Landing configuration.
Wow. another great video Sir.
It says destory in your thumbnail!
For newbie RC plane pilots, with no repair knowledge, this is considered destroyed
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I agree! It's just the mistake in your thumbnail😄
Enjoy the weekend
I'm known as captain crash
Nice repair
Morning ❤
👋🏼
looks like a p500
If you had used full flaps on your landing the airplane probably would not have slipped out of the air. Use flaps for flying at the slower airspeeds.
RUclips change the layout of the page?
Oh Jesus, now the videos are placed under the playing video and the comments at the right of the page :/
Must be something happening regionally. Still the same old look and feel in my area.
Nice 👌
Strange crash, But thanks for posting.
What happened to the camera on plane ?
It was thrown off but it survived (which is how I was able to show the footage)
Thank you!
Was it supposed to do that?
Sorry but the air cobra is not a P-51 as you stated totally different aircraft.
As per the vid, it is a P-39 but common parts are similar to P-51.
A little more flaps next time… It slipped right out of the sky.
Good video shame about your crash
Yelp, that was all pilot error. But it should be fixable.
Was fixed by end of vid (repair was shown)
Nice plane. Acting like it's nose heavy.
Hello, if you used flaps on takeoff, why didn't you use them on landing?
It's a rookie mistake.
Hmmm… let’s see, I fly easily over 200 new model planes per year, I don’t think anyone would ever call me a rookie. 😂
