  • Hello again! In this three-part series I take a look at how you can build a unique model, an M4A1 large-hatch Sherman ex-DD, or Duplex Drive, swimming tank. I kit bashed two Sherman kits back in 2012 and released this a premium download on the website. Now, I have uploaded it as a 3-part series for free.
This is part #2 which covers the following parts of the build, with its main focus on painting and weathering this unique Sherman kit scratch bash.
    Here are the chapters:
    00:07 Intro and reprise
00:33 Creating your own custom stowage and bedrolls
02:00 Priming the model using Vallejo Surface Primers
02:43 Archer Fine Transfers Casting Symbols
    03:43 Presiding the model
04:16 Applying Tamiya Olive Drab base coat
    04:58 Sealing/Varnishing the model using Johnson's Clear
05:24 Picking out highlight details - modulation
    05:45 Painting stowage
06:28 Washes and shadows, incl' pin washes
07:36 Dust effects and rain marks
    08:05 Mud effects
    09:38 Chipping
    10:01 Metal effects and burnishing
10:22 Final pigments applied wet and dry
    10:54 Model is complete
    11:25 Outro

    Fantastic piece of work mate!
Something that looks great and not overly chipped and rusted!
Your weathering techniques are good and portrays a realistic finish.
    Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤😊

What pencil grade do you use for the metal look?

Just HB should do, it doesn’t really matter, any pencil will work.

Bought loads of bottles back in the day. Apparently someone was saying there’s a modern equivalent called Pledge Shine - I’ll find the comment and post it here.
