The problem with newer dress watches at this price point is their size. They're all freaking huge! At least Lorier went small which is always the right choice in a dress watch.
I think for a majority of people spending a lot of money on a dress watch doesn't make much sense in relation to how often they would likely wear it. I think this fits that niche perfectly, and does so with color and style. The size is also welcomingly unique. From a guy who wears a dress watch to cut the grass, I welcome it! Haha Very thoughtful and insightful presentation, Xavier.
Agreed, my most expensive watch is a dress watch but I’m the outlier 😂 I think this is a fun and unique option that is reasonable. I don’t quite cut the grass with a dress watch on, I have to use seikos for something! Thank you for watching matthew
@@theknightswatch You are not alone! I also can't imagine myself to spend on luxury sports watches, especially divers. I really don't need them and I always can find a better dress watch to buy.
Dress Watches can be worn even without a suit. Don't you ever wear a shirt and chinos? A shirt and a blazer? A shirt and sweater and jeans.? This kind on casual wardrobe goes along very well with both sport and dress Watches.
Wow, I've already added it to my list. Striking dial but understated design. And I love the dimensions. At 8.5mm it'll actually slide under my cuffs unlike most 12-15mm watches at this price point.
Nicely presented as usual. These days the world is more casual than in times past so folks tend to think of the dress watch as something that is not for their lifestyle. I say try wearing this style of watch just hanging out with friends or going to the supermarket, whatever and you will really enjoy it. It's a cool experience! Don't follow the herd. Can't figure why we don't see more tonneau cases, they are infinitely better than rectangulars being wider and allowing longer more legible hands. Lorier did a nice job bringing something classy to market for a friendly price.
@@chia-mingyang5804 100%. The time has come for the return of the slim elegant dress watch. Just the thing when flying drones for instance. Folks will thank me for the enhanced experience!
Agreed Chris, I think a lot of people get to wrapped up in categories of watch. But it’s not a sports watch with 200m of water resistance even though I never take my watch in water. If you like the design just wear it. It’s very rare anyone else ever notices what your wearing so wear it for you!
The case to me has the right amount detail for a dress watch of this design. The case shape is not a lazy flat rectangular case like a lot of more expensive watches tend to be. The case is stepped and adds more dimension vertically to the watch instead of a flat rectangle. It has a style that will never go out of style and build quality you can pass on to the next generation. 😄
The white dial sold out in no time. I could see myself wearing it on a daily basis, though my wrist, at 7.25", is pretty big. I appreciate the macro shots and analysis.
This watch looks really good on your wrist, I'm jealous. I purchased this watch and unfortunately needed to return it because it looked incredibly tiny on my wrist.
@@StandAloneState A reverso and the rolex tonneau that they directly reference on their website. There are other vintage watches also. It's not entirely new but not entirely a copy I should clarify.

If I owned a suit that fit, I'd buy this watch. What a beauty!
Haha time to go suit shopping. But I get it, dress watches aren’t for everyone

get a sport coat! much better than a suit
if you leave near an Indochino, wait till they have a sale, get a fitted one. I'm never going back to a simple off the rack.
Nice video, a cool classy watch. Btw the daylight shots are very helpful showing off the colours and textures!
Good to know! More recently started doing the outdoor shots, happy the help.

You are absolutely right 👍
I wear my dress watches daily and comfortably. In my opinion they look better than sports watches most of the time.

That oxblood strap is flat out gorgeous. Especially with the Hermès style buckle.
Natural light, how it wears, other straps...I always like your reviews 👍
Appreciate it 🙏🏻 thanks for watching

I love the Tonneau case shape and dial. Just a beautiful watch!

Smaller watches definitely aren’t for everybody, this one probably looks best for those under 7in wrist
The dial on this one looks very nice specially for the $. Keep up the great work brother 👍🏼
Beautiful watch and very nice critique
Perfect watch, within budget, when one only has to wear it twice or thrice a month for in person meetings attired in a suit.
Very fair point! Especially if you want something with a little more flare opposed to a bambino and the like
Great review! Just subbed.
Thank you appreciate it!
It’s stunning 😮
lovely watch, although I prefer one of the other colours..
Beautiful watch. Wish it was a touch bigger though.

Where can I purchase this watch??
Did you notice the rotor making a louder sound than usual with the automatic movement?
I mentioned it at some point in the video but the rotor is on the louder side. Nothing that I really noticed day to day but not quiet
Without the seconds hand I wouldn't mind a cheaper quartz version.
Very fair point! I wouldn’t be opposed to that either takes away the rotor noise issue too p
I just wish it was smaller.
Indeed, The case is kinda huge for a Tonneau shaped watch. It can be smaller without affecting the dial area.
anyone have one for sale?
This is a cool piece too bad I already bought a Zelos
The design is a copy of a Jaeger-LeCoultre. It isn't new by any stretch of the imagination.
Which model specifically are you talking about it being a copy?

Hey squinty.
Some Lorier are really nice but this one is not.
