🎼TABs/Sheet Music: payhip.com/b/pTYnt Hi everyone! Here is my arrangement of "Where Is My Mind" by Pixies (Maxence Cyrin's version). It's been ages since I recorded anything on acoustic guitar, but it definitely feels nice to be back to it :) Hope you'll enjoy this one, have a great weekend!
Hey, I apologize for my ignorance but I purchased the tab sheet and where there is a hammer on/pull off annotation to the exact note without a different note in between....what is actually going on there?
@@bwang24 Is it a string of 32nd notes in bar 30 you are talking about? That one is tricky - you have hammer-on/pull-offs on the first string, but there is also a D on a second string which you need to pluck with the right hand. This string of 32nd notes needs to be isolated and practiced slowly to get the timing right and make sure all notes are equal length and volume. When you can get to the right speed try to blend it in the rest of the bar, but make sure to practice slowly first.
@@DariaSemikina What I'm referring to first appears on bar 7 where you indicate a hammer on from the D back to D on the 2nd string without a note in between in standard tuning. I think I figured it out, you are not playing the open 2nd string but sort of muting it?
@@bwang24 oh, ok, I think I got it. There are two different indications that look the same, but performed differently: a tie and a slur. When there is a tie between same notes it means that the first note duration is extended by duration of the second note, but note is struck only once the first time. So simply, you keep holding the first note and you don't pluck it the second time when it's tied. When there is a slur between two different notes it means notes are played legato (hammer-on/pull-off). Here is a short article explaining the difference: www.studybass.com/lessons/reading-music/tied-notes/#:~:text=The%20difference%20is%20a%20tie,off%20technique%20to%20the%20notes.
@@DariaSemikina ahhh makes total sense, thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions, really appreciate it! Beautiful rendition of this song btw :)
Thank you very much for this arrangement. I've always been a fan of this song, especially the Maxence Cyrin piano version. Also, for anyone wondering, you can capo on the first fret and be able to play it in a lower key. I'm lazy when it comes to tuning, and appreciate being able to pick up my guitar and play without having to downtune. I agree the capo on the fourth fret, downtuned a step is the correct key (and sounds better). I appreciate being able to practice without the tuning. Thank you for the arrangement!
Very Nice... I much prefer finger style 4th fret performances of this lovely tune...first time i've heard a guitar version of the piano piece too... well done.
Hi, make sure you are following tuning indication in the score, it is on the upper left right above the first bar. I almost always tune my steel-string down one step to DGCFAD. You can play this arrangement in standard tuning as well, but place the capo on 2nd fret instead of the 4th then.

Just beautiful...
Sei bravissima, ascolto tutti i tuoi brani e mi ricorda tanto il mio papà che amava suonare la chitarra. Grazie per quello che fai 💞
I like when you play acoustic guitar. I remember your fantastic cover of With Or Without You ❤
