The way Stephanie Meyer writes, she just writes pages and pages that are completely devoid of any real content. Hannah, if it is alright to recommend another RUclipsr to you, have you seen Dominic Noble's concise one man re-enactment of the Twilight series? He actually acts the important points of the books by himself, and he plays each of the main characters. It doesn't take him long to cover the actual content of Meyer's series! He's the nice sort of British man (I'm British, but I'm a bit mean and unbalanced).
It's like she's writing a fanfiction where she knows what she wants to happen, but she hasn't worked out the details yet, so most of it is filler. And she's too telly
I watched someone else rewrite Twilight, or talk about rewriting it at least. She bought a physical copy where someone had gone through the whole book and underline every time Stephenie Meyer called the vampires beautiful.
When you're over 100 years old but still get kicks from mentally outmaneuvering teenagers. Also, flashing those "ultrawhite teeth" when 1) he's over 100 and you know dental care was not good back then, 2) tooth enamel doesn't grow back and 3) blood probably stains, right? I'm not in the habit of consuming blood so I'm not sure but I feel like it has to. Also also HALLOWEEN PARTY whooooo
For some reason it's satisfying watching some phrases being deleted. This way you make the book refreshing. For example 7:24 (I giggled when you said the b word😂)
Watching this video (and the other six) made me realized that 12 years old me had extreme patience to read the whole series without skimming anything. Eight years later I skipped the whole thing.
I really appreciate you doing this series!! This has been a fun way for me to learn how to be able to edit my own writing. I feel so murky about it in the moment, but being able to highlight things like needless description, filler words, the "smiled happily" has helped me be able to course-correct, whether after the fact or while in the thick of it! It's been great!
I just purchased Starlight on kindle and little birds on audible. I’m looking forward to reading and listening. I’m learning so much from you! Love your content.
You can trim things that are not necessary from the book. You can just remove it. You can get rid of entire pages. You can remove the whole book. Please trim it from my life, it is not necessary.
Is there a book you would suggest we read with writing advice like the ones you so casually give in your videos? Are those the type of things you teach on your skillshare classes? If so I've been missing out 😭
Fun story, I'm actually in the middle of reading the Twilight series because my friend wanted me to and I'm going to because I love them B U T I'm also speeding through it so I can read Starlight after
Idk why I like this series so much. My friend bought them both for me, can't wait to read! #sugarfriend All the eye prose is how we got all the stares in the movie. So. Many. Stares. Is it just me or does woolgathering (yes I had to look that up) perfectly define Twilight?
“Uhhhh, k, just gonna take that out ‘cause it’s stupid and dumb.”
That’s it. That’s the whole video.
tbh yeah
Hannah: Nearly types "Gays" instead of "Gaze".
Me: Cheers I'll drink to that.
I cut out the clip that I laughed about it in bc I knew someone would see and appreciate it more
@@HannahLeeKidder Honestly, valid.
that’s what i was gonna comment 😂
"Another great video, Hannah," I gave a thumbs up darkly.
XD
Watching these videos legitimately makes me feel like someone dared Stephanie Meyer to write a book using only filler words.
and she said "bet"
I swear the "my truck would make scrap metal out of your fancy Italian car" was an anecdote used in the first chapter.
So glad you clarified that my wife’s paperback copy isn’t changing every time you post these edit videos. 🤪

He's hilarious, my husband will even stop playing video games and watch his videos with me - even if they're about Twilight 😂
omg, I love Dom.

when the beautiful vampires are beautiful and she wants you to know that they're beautiful
Thia book will be like 100 pages after Hannah is finished
the entire series will be 112

you make absolutely correct and compelling points
@@HannahLeeKidder 😊
i love the idea that that vampiric superhealing makes an exception for dental care like US insurance
the best thing about these videos (aside from the recurring event of just cutting full sentences) is that they’re equally entertaining and educational

So much talk about the gaze, the eyes. Sheesh. xD

Your sacrifice is greatly appreciated.
I'm glad
I need more of this! Your commentary is hysterical.
What if, hear me out, what if you sent the completed edited pdf to the same publisher?
and Stephanie Myer
how do some ppl not understand that changing a document in your computer doesn't affect anything else? twilight fandom's iq just hit rock bottom lol
I think this time I wouldn't have cut as much. we need to keep _some_ sense that Edward looks like a creepy supermodel.
awww yes my favorite series with my favorite internet lady

Good video!
This is so funny I kinda want you to do the same with midnight moon 😂
idk what midnight moon is
@@HannahLeeKidder crap I meant midnight sun, my bad 🤦🏼♀️ it’s twilight but Edward POV. You’d give up and kill a computer I think 😂
