Dude it’s bad, some nights I sleep for two hours because I can’t go to bed at a decent hour and have to wake up at like 7:30am. I wake up tired and then 20 mins later I’m good to go but then when I go back home I sleep for like 4 hours and then hit the gym at night , one hour before it closes, and then I get in the two hours of sleep again when I go to bed at 5:30am
I think everyone who is employed needs these as breaks every couple of years. It feels really nice having this for a few months. If jobs allowed it that'd be great otherwise you'd have to stress out getting another job after the few months break. We just don't live in a culture that respects taking long breaks or allows it financially

Work for the Postal Service then. Lol I’ve been hired on at my local Postal Service processing plant since December 2021. Since then, I’ve been “laid off” numerous times because “work volume was low” or lack of work during the summer. So for about two years now I’ve been technically employed but not working? Lol it’s weird but I go without work for like 4-6 months and then they’ll call me back once the volume has picked up, usually during august or so

Doordash until your next job, I make $700 at minimum for 40 hrs a week. At times I’m making $30/hr. I don’t even plan on getting a real job now lmao. There is no taxes taken out though so gonna have to be ready to pay up for tax season.

I was technically unemployed because I was only working at Amazon at most two 5 hour shifts a week. For several months I would wake up around 11 am - 12pm and feel so depressed and sad that I'm not making moves after my college graduation. Thankfully I got a full time office job and still kept the 2nd job so I can have another stream of income. But yeah, those several months was brutal to my mental health.

Story of my life now… last year I was unemployed studying trying to get a software dev job and my girl was holding me down like a queen, then i moved and she got tired ig… This year I was depressed from the breakup but I hustled my butt off to do Uber and it was hard but I was making it work till some ignorant s.o.b. Hit my car and my insurance taking forever. Now I’m back in the nearly the same position; single, unemployed trying to figure out how to make living without any savings or support, just my ps5
That kinda life is low key stressful. Yeah you got time, but when shit starts piling up, i was in between jobs for like a month. The third week things started to get real tight

Also, absolutely no shame whatsoever in being unemployed especially in that situation. I couldn't imagine, all I know is my last thought would be work in a situation like that. Family, friends, bucket list, anything and everything that brings you love/joy, and battling it if possible would be top priority.

As a USPS worker, I would have loved a few months off during the peak of Covid, but we were one of the only places besides the healthcare industry that just had to soldier on through it while everyone else was sitting home collecting government checks. I'll always be a bit resentful over not getting hazard pay or any break at all, but happy for those of you that got a break from the grind.

My car took a crap on me and I was t able to get back and forth and I been job hunting but ain’t nothing working out in my favor at all but it’s def a nice change of pace for sure I was working two jobs for almost 15 years covid hit and I went to one job now I don’t even have one and I’m thinking of it as a deserving vacation
