This is such a beautiful place to camp, and even though the black flies were beyond irritating, I'm sure, at least you were prepared for it with the face coverings. The trip out on the kayak was gorgeous! You guys are going to work it all out with Olivia, you're doing an amazing thing by venturing out on a wilderness trip with an infant as it is! Before you know it, you'll be sitting at high school graduation wondering where the time went! You do an amazing job here capturing sights and sounds!

Hello, Great video as always. I absolutely hate flies. Being a parent is hard even on the best days. Being a new parent is especially hard, mainly because everything you thought you knew is never enough to prepare you for being the caregiver of such a tiny little life. It can definitely be overwhelming. You are going to do just fine, and you have a great village around you. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Have an amazing week.

Wow! You guys are amazing getting so far into nature with wee Olivia. Parenthood is the hardest, most important role you will ever have and remember to be kind to yourselves in these tiring first months. Your beautiful, healthy little daughter is an amazing tribute to your love for one another! She's a lucky bub to have such devoted parents.
The flies would do my head in- loved your headgear to cope with them!
Thank you again for sharing these aspects of your world with us!

But it helps to talk about it. I know I've been there. You both are awesome and Olivia is the best! Hope you weren't near any of the smoke from the wild fires from Canada. Rylee, it won’t be bad for long. Do to the record snowfalls we had (officially by us in northern wisconsin 122”), the puddles left behind created a haven for mosquito hatching! We couldn’t even talk to one another outside, and then the flies came. 🙄 Ticks…I don’t like them either! I always enjoy the videos, keep them coming! Hugs❤

It’s very cool to watch the vlogs of you and Riley maintaining prior family traditions within your own family! It’s a challenge, no doubt, with all of the elements out there. (I.e. intensely pesky/annoying bugs!) Riley, one would never be able to tell that you have anxiety, as you remain so positive and are always smiling. And if I may say, Jack, feel free to share the bottle washing out in the woods. I think I would learn something valuable, even though my ‘baby’ is now 26 years old! Lastly, I am a big fan of Ellie. She’s a remarkable dog with an old soul and energy of a pup! Cheers to you all!

What a wonderful area, but those flies were excessive! Rylie I feel you, I suffer from anxiety as well so know what that is like. You are so pretty and that was a beautiful picture of Jack proposing. Parenting is hard, but very rewarding, Olivia is growing so well she is beautiful so you're doing a great job. Ellie is so wonderful she has such a lovely face and I love how glued to you both she is and such an adventurous dog. That was very humbling and emotional finding the plane crash, very sad. When you went out on the lake that was so relaxing and calming, how wonderful and not the mass of flies either. Thanks for showing us xx

Such a gorgeous place! I had to google to find out more about the crash. Listening now to a story by the man who found the crash….respect for those lost….I love to watch your videos and watch for Olivia to see how she has grown. Yes babies have the ability to stress us, bond us, aggravate us, love us…my oldest will be 40 this year, and my youngest 36…..trust me the time goes so fast….they’re grown and out in what seems a blink of the eye….just do your best, love and support each other, it is worth it in the end. I’ve only been watching since Riley was almost due. Can I ask how long you’ve been together? Ok, now to watch the rest of this video…..Loved seeing the wildlife there….and coming across that 1 moose antler was quite the surprise .

If you ever see a photo or video of an Aussie in the outback with corks on short strings tied to the brim of his hat, that's to keep the flies away from his eyes.
They swing back and forth with the slightest movement and keep them away.

The bugs were brutal out there, poor Ellie had flies buzzing all around her face. Unfortunate but a part of life out there certain times of the year.

Heck, no, I wouldn't be there with all those flies. wouldn't be able to enjoy myself. Your dog went swimming in the lake. Do you not have alligators? There's no way we can do that here in Florida, that's for sure. I love your videos. Your wife is a trooper, that's for sure. Till the next one, be safe.

Something I noticed living in northern MN was that as bad as the deer flies were, if I entered into a building (my open garage), they did not follow me past the doors. Have you experienced the same thing?

    • @TinyCabinLife
      @TinyCabinLife  Год назад +1

That’s interesting! Im not sure with the deer flies actually. Thankfully they weren’t bad here. It was just those little black flies and mosquitoes. Up at our family cabin we have deer flies like crazy though!

Anxiety, tell me about it. I hate it. It sure messes up things. Some people don't realize how it can affect one's life. And then your mind plays games with you. Then the panic attacks start up. Been good so far. I know what to look for and deal with it, but it has been a constant interference in my life. I keep busy all the time, I have to. I admire your courage and how you deal with it. I just love your little cabin. How long did it take to build and the cost? Thanks❤

We know all about what you’re describing. It can be all consuming. Learning to cope is the way to go 🙏🏽 So glad you’ve found ways to do so. The cabin is so good for us! It took about 2-3 weeks worth of work for me to do alone and ended up costing around $6000 in materials. Not too bad!

That’s not a bad idea! I think they’ll be dying off soonish here as well. I’ll have to check on the song for you. It’s from the music library that I use while editing. I’ll try to remember to circle back and let you know!

I’ll give it to you for staying there, the bugs would have driven me away. In the PNW on occasion the yellow jackets just don’t leave you alone. But the swarm of flies you dealt with is crazy. Sorry about that.

Thank you so much! Believe it or not, the bugs are usually this bad this time of year up there…it’s yet another thing (like the extreme cold in the winter) that makes Minnesota not for the faint of heart lol. The bugs tend to get better though as the summer rolls on
