I learned a good lesson back in Nov of '85 when I was 25 years old. I was coming down off of Mount Baker east of Portland loaded heavy (B train 105,500 lb) in my 81 Mack cabover at about 2 am. I was coming down off of the mountain nicely using my jake. That was all fine and dandy until all of a sudden my jake quit working. To make a long story short I made it down the grade in one piece but had no brakes left. I had to coast to a stop. When the truck settled I just sat there and poured a coffee and collected my thoughts. Then I got out, blocked the wheels and set up my brakes. Lesson learned. It turned out all it was is the wire going to the jake that activates it broke off. As for Lewiston HIll, I was through there on a motorcycle in 2017. It took my breath away after I took the turn after the scale and could see down to the city. We had to pull over and stop for a bit and take some pictures.
Wow . Great story and a scary one.. those ol canovers were quite a bit to handle on snow back in the day. I drove a '79 peterbuilt cabover over the trough road in Grand County CO on my way to AZ.. no snow but it was in the mtns. Fun fun.
Gday mate So nice to see the wheat . Bumper harvest by the look of it. Better than here in Australia! Winter drought conditions again for the third year in a row!
Just imagine if they got interstste 11 finally complete from border to border! I-11 would have all the awesomest features any interstate route could hope for, such as the bridge south of Hoover Dam, Las Vegas strip, the Nevada Desert and close enough to Area 51, plus the Lewiston Hill!!!!!!
I was going to comment to Mike about going down the highway to Lewiston back in 1974. I was with my fiancee in a converted bread truck (RV style). Now reading your comment here, I am sure it was this highway to Clarkston...hair pin curves. Shortly after this was decided I didn't want to be RVing anymore. Three months was enough.
Aren't you being a little bit greedy, there? Not everybody has 2160p! Half of us still have only 1080p due to financial limitations, so give the guy a break!!!! If all you care about is 2160 to 4k and even 8k only video quality, then by all means unsub the guy just because he chooses to record in 1080p!!!!
Grumpy old bugger, no idea about uploads, just sayin ive noticed theres an upsurge in hi res, light hearted coment... But im sure the Gentleman who i posted for doesnt need help from a jerk butting in like a Bar Room Pisshead, so Fuck OFF.!@@ralphjames1211
I know and have been to most of the states you are driving...following natural gas pipeline. Also my son is a driver. Was I should say. He is in office now. He drove for 18yrs. What you see I been there done that.
I really enjoy watching you travel the states but can`t help but think,,,, what do you look like,,,, haha. Its ok if you don`t want your face out there but I try to picture you from the way your voice sounds and I know I`m way off. how about a revel....
Look up: John Connor : on RUclips he's got all the good Russian ones,, He cuts up and mixes to crashes short enough to see how stupid people could be but then again we already know how stupid people are when they drive

One road you probably don’t want to go on is 129 south out of Clarkston. Washington thru Asotin to Enterprise, Oregon. Pretty narly.
