A tip I learned for practicing speaking with another person when you have anxiety like I do if you're just not confident enough with the language to be able to have a full conversation with a native is to put your phone or tablet in your target language and talk to the Google Assistant, Alexa, or Siri. They work in a LOT of languages these days and are programmed to have full conversations about jokes, relationships, movies, music, etc. So you can practice speaking and get responses without having to talk to an actual human. You'll need to eventually take the plunge and speak to someone, but until then the AI is excellent practice.
people always talk crap about duolingo..but it made me learn a lot of vocab..so during that I listened to spanish and after just had to practice speaking..I wasn't interested in writing so just being able to watch TV and speak was good for me..also after that you can pick up portuguese in a couple of months
you're right, but honestly speaking , duolingo helps me to know spanish words and memorized it, i can constract a couple of sentence, in listening they have a podcast
I've been on Duolingo for a number of months and it's a really slow slog. So, I fill in using El Diccionario Inglés-Español WordReference and Clozemaster, beside listening to the news in Spanish and reading books. Oh, I was also married to a Mexican-American for years. (Most of that Spanish was slang and has since faded, so Duolingo served as a good refresher on basic Spanish.)
i really hope u make a video teaching us espanol and just basic sentences and phrases spanish speakers use on a daily bases. Almost everything u did to learn spanish, i did and it had helped me indeed. Love the video

Wow I I'm also doing your ways on learning Spanish because I'm currently learning Spanish and Im using duo lingo, enjoying while learning like reading the lyrics of my favorite Spanish songs while singing along and I'm on my first month of learning ..Great video and tips keeps it up.
Good job that you have decided to learn Spanish because we Filipinos must learn this language as our second international language, and in order to make it possible, it has to be taught once again in public and private schools at all levels (kindergarten until college) and then, have Spanish be used in mass media as well.
really cause none of the people here in hawaii can understand me when speaking Spanish..I always try to speak with the Philipno people cause we have no Hispanics here..I'm puerto rican but my Spanish living in hawaii for so long is getting rusty
Why add spanish? People can barely speak tagalog and english properly without mixing those two... We have 175 languages here so that means visayan people have to learn tagalog, english, and spanish? They also have their own local language... Alot of tagalog people refuse to learn bisaya/cebuano, which is the 2nd most spoken language here in the Philippines... spanish pa kaya? That's almost impossible, spanish has no practicality in the Philippines
@@uglygoblin2413 that's why the 1987 Constitution's language provisions have to be amended and remove the provision of a non-existent language called Filipino, which is 100% Tagalog at all but name, and must be substituted by Spanish in the K-12 curriculum and must be taught in the same equal footing as English and the prevailing language of the region.

Good tipps, most people dont wanna leave the *comfort zone* and think by watching series and listening to music they learn a language. From there, talking to natives, watching movies etc. become more effective. During the foundation time those ways are rather additionial but not a replacement for active learning.
