Had he been born to a nice, wealthy family, he would have had a good career in any of the "professions" (Doctor, academic etc). Because he was born into poverty, guns and hookers, he became a boxer...and the greatest one at that.

What's to say that he wouldn't have been a boxer anyways? You may be right, but you can't be certain.

templetonbob Because he was in a youth home for people with bad child hoods, and he saw people coming from the boxing gym across the street and he wondered why they were so happy being beat up, so he went there and discovered Boxing like that, if you dont believe me, try to find the interview where he said it. ( cant remember the title for it on youtube ) but i remember that he said all this in an interview and you can find it on youtube.

templetonbob There is, but theres a big chance he wouldnt have gotten into Boxing, unless his childhood had been like it had been.

His story is sooo interesting. I'm proud of his new life. I think I like him more than I did when he was boxing. And that's hard because I was a big Tyson (the boxer) fan.

Fighter R the way he answer rand acted in the last question make me feel sorry
for him bro. Mike Tyson has had everything in the past, money, fame,
girls, friends. but now when he bankrupt and felt down. there is
nothing around him. not even a friend. He was very lonely.

No doubt Mike will be remembered as the ferocious fighting machine he was, but I truly believe he will also be remembered as the wise, humble and inspiring man he became after that.

I love you Mike! Always have, always will! My favorite fighter of all time. I hope you one day pick up boxing again as a trainer so you can pass on your experience and knowledge to other trouble young people. Rooney and Atlas studied the art of peek-a-boo, but no one ever mastered it like you did!

Hes my idol, im 16 and just started boxing, but watching this, looking in his eyes when he said what will people remember you as in 50 years and he said a fighting machine, it looks to me he doesnt like, he wants to remembered as somthing more, instead of a killing machine, a kind person. and thats what im taking away from this.

mashAllah, there is a real sense of peace around him now that is rare among even the majority of people. I wish him continued success and lasting peace, inshAllah (God willing).
that last answer is a sad truth, and what's sadder is that he knows its the truth. I hope people in 50 years will discover this later side of him, and recognize the kind of transformations that are possible in people who are determined to change. That requires REAL strength and Mike's shown that he has that too.
