I leased a 2024 Enclave Avenir in November and really like it. The one thing I don't like is the gear selector, so I'm glad to see that Buick changed that for the 2025 model.
I would treat any black plastic with an interior trim protector. They make several different products that not only fight fingerprints and dust but also protect similar to a ceramic coating for paint.
Love the interior! I believe Buick's curved single widescreen solution for the instrument cluster and infotainment is something that other automakers should emulate rather than the large TV-like screens Cadillac and Lincoln are moving towards.
Those are certainly Cadillac interiors that ford copied and threw into their latest Lincolns. Ford didn’t even have a name for the systems when they rushed their rendition of it to market in the Nautilus.
It's funny reading both of your comments. I'm team GM disclaimer, but I'm not a loyalist. The new screen on the buick is literally a cadillac (lytic, at4, optic, etc) upside-down. The super pillar to pillar widescreen has been a concept by many brands. Few if not only Lincoln and cadillac are the only ones with one in the market. Lincoln was the first to bring in to market, in the Chinese market that is.
Yes!! Absolutely!!! I can not stand the giant tv screens, especially with their extremely large bezels. GM did good here and made both screens seamlessly mesh together with minimal bezels around the entire unit… as it should be! One of the worst offenders in the industry is Mercedes. It started back in 2016-2017 (I believe) with the 10th gen E-Class. The bezels on that thing are a behemoth!!!! As much as I despise GM, I’ll give credit where credit is due and applaud them on this one!

I'm glad GM is trying to rejuvenate the Buick nameplate. Hopefully they get enough sales to justify staying in the segment. Problem is GM still has Cadillac GMC..you can get luxury models from both.
Exactly. Legacy brands like GM seem to have a dealership problem- they need to offer the same car under different badges to keep all the dealers happy. But I agree with this comment. Cadillac should offer unique platforms and GMC and Buick can share but not all in the same segment.
great video with you three and great to see the behind the scenes stuff like talking about the price during the 17 minute mark is great because it just makes you seem more human and not some superman that simply remembers any and all things about the vehicles. Love both channels videos, you both are rockstars and even though I can't get many of the same vehicles here in Thailand that I used to have access to in Canada and the US.
4:52 Hey Sofyan!!! Love a good collaboration review with awesome journalists! But, I really love the luxury and regal feel that this SUVs interior. I'd prefer the blue and grqy interior over the brown and gray but the brown is very nice as well.
GM killing me with reserving light interiors and ventilated seats only for the top trims of these new triplets. Especially Buick where you can only get the “leather” plastic seats but no ventilation except on Avenier.
I'm really impressed with the Enclave, I'm really excited to see if they redesign the XT6 and what they are going to do with that model to actually make it competitive in its segment. They knocked out the park with this Buick!
As someone that drives Cadillac and liked the xT6 we went with the new enclave because the xT6 is dated it's due for a redesign the Cadillac definitely rides better but it's more money with way less options so i wouldn't say the Buick falls short if you go with Avenir
Alex, you’ve got to do a ALEX review of the Buick envision Avenir. You’ll love its shocking nvh and ride quality just as much!! I really want to see a review of that car from YOU.
I won’t be upgrading for a few years still, but this enclave has me super excited. I’m not a car person, but I love the whole look to the enclave, front grill included!
I would have preferred Olds to continue, as I used them for years. I sold my 2002 Bravada after 18 years of ownership and kept it so nice that my brother-in-law jumped to buy it from me three years ago. It still purrs like a kitten today. I have the 2015 Enclave now, and it is excellent. It's my wife's car, and I drive a 2014 GMC pickup. She thinks we need a better gas mileage SUV, but it will be hard to get away from the excellent ride of the Enclave. Plus, it just turned 60k and has a lot of life left in it. And my wife does, too...both in our 70s now. 😎
All of Buick's current designs look great. GM did a great job differentiating Enclave, Traverse, and Acadia. I see a lot of Envistas, Encore GX, and previous-gen Enclaves on the road. Why does the Buick brand exist? To sell more Buicks. Ten years ago we could reasonably lack optimism for this brand, but fresh energy is moving the metal now.
Great video. I’m seeing a lot of cosmetically focused features such as the piano black trim pieces, unfairly raising the cost. I think the rear has an excellent, luxurious design. But they went to lunch on the front an ruining the elegance with an oversized, anaconda looking grill. Overall, Buick did a nice job with the Enclave, if they could find a way to control the cosmetics and keep costs down to attract more buyers. Btw, you and Sophian are a great team, providing us with tons of excellent insight and information. Thanks Alex
I have the Chevy Traverse Z71 in the Iridescent Pearl. I think it's great looking with the AT tires and the red accents. Where the Buick blows it out of the water is the interior. The Chevy has any color interior as long as it's black. I think it works well with the Pearl color, however I wish Chevy would offer a light gray or tan interior. Hood struts are great. My Explorer had a prop rod. I also like the screens in both the Traverse and Enclave better than that in the Acadia. That screen looks like an afterthought. Of the 3, I think the Traverse screen works the best.
Give people an option for 3 seats in the middle in top trims like atlas, like pilot - with isofix points ! and get rid of piano black for good - in and out.
I wish GM would offer the different brands different engine options. They've made great strides with changing the interiors across Chevy, Buick, and GMC to differentiate themselves but the engines are all the same.
I think the new buick styling is very nice. For a daily commuter the envista is on my short list. I just wish it had AWD. Chevy doesnt have the comfort or styling, GMC seems more work based. If a Cadillac version of the envista in fwd and a 2L engine that would be my choice.
Every review talks about the sound of the engine I test drove an Acadia Denali and it was fine. Also I love how GM’s motor gets attacked but has anyone test driven a GLE 350?? sounds way worse and louder when you step on it but of course no one bats an eye as it’s Mercedes. I find these none luxury brands especially American made are always heavily criticized 🧐
@@naveenthemachine faster and sportier is only a positive attribute to those who find that appealing. I am one of those people, but there are many others out there who dont value that at all.
If you aren't going to compare the Explorer because of interior size, you're going to have to eliminate the rest of the class as well - CX-90, Grand Highlander, Pathfinder, etc. All of those are around the same size. The GM Lambda SUVs are definitely bigger. They always have been notably larger, with the exception of the last Acadia. But the Lambdas compete in that class below the big body-on-frame SUVs, even if they are bigger than others like the Explorer and Telluride.
@JamesPhieffer Grand Highlander and Acadia are the only 2 that can compare to the GM redesigned SUVs in terms of dimensions, Palisade and Telluride interior dimensions are similar, but externally they are about 10 inches shorter
A simple lining under the removable cargo box can give a minivan-level of cargo utility, when the users do not need a leveled cargo floor with the 2nd-row. Or even better, to have minivan-style 3rd row folding mechanism.
All three look amazing ! Brings me back to my Saturn outlook days, then I did Acadia when the Saturn was gone then traverse and now Buick 2017 but I think out of the new ones I’d go back to traverse because of the design but I’m excited for the XT6 hopefully not EV
I follow both Redline Reviews and Alex on Autos. Is this the first time they are reviewing together? Alex’ practical lens plus Sofyan’s enthusiast’s view would make an interesting new channel.
I'd take the chrome grill, it fits the character of the vehicle better. A 207+ inch sporty machine is kind of a joke. I like the rear clear Porsche-like clear rear tail light on the Avenir too. Too bad they cannot compete with the Lexus' engine options. GM should have done a plug in variant with this refresh. A plug-in with the old v6 3.6L to compete with the TX 550h+ would have been class leading chef's kiss variant. CarPlay and SuperCruise both in the same car...that almost sounds like a luxury car. That illusion will evaporate when winding out that 4-banger every time you accelerate. That Buick Augdenvision must be one I haven't heard of. 🤣. Honestly, the Avenir should have some kind of matte wood grain or something (anything!) besides the dreaded Piano Black Trim dominating that center console. That's simply not going to hold up.
Do you mean Acura engine choices? Because most Lexus new engine offerings are absolute trash even a 2013 accord v6 engine is more powerful and more reliable
...and that wheel gap, it looks to be about 4 inches even with the 22's on the chrome edition. Way too much for me. The 22's should at least be standard on the sport.
The N/A V6 as the base engine, this 2.5 turbo as the mid-level engine, and the 3.6 twin turbo V6 as the performance engine/highest trim engine. Like what Ford did with the previous generation Explorer. Otherwise they could find a way to fit a hybrid or PHEV option somewhere within the range.
Fun dynamic with the two presenters. I''m getting used to the front end of this car, and the rest of it inside and out is quite nice. Not thrilled with a 4-cylinder, more powerful or not, as they invariably sound rather agricultural at times.
Just like their cousins at GMC and Chevy, I'm completely baffled by their decision to only put real leather seats in the top trim. I'm not paying $50K+ for pleather seats in a vehicle.
The sport trim is using the Lincoln save money technique... They only use rims that go in one direction.. so the passenger side always looks like the rims are going backwards... Drives me crazy... Lincoln has done it for years and know one notices in reviews.. I can't unsee it lol ...
Seriously, $60k - $70k, lack of reliability and no resale value, would make me choose Toyota, Lexus or Acura. I own a 2011 MdX and the reaale value is there still adter 13 yrs of ownership. You wont have resale value after 5 years on the Buick, let alone if the brand will still exist 5 years from now.😅
Maybe I missed this...but will GM update the XT6 on this platform or are they scrapping the XT6 for EV's after 2025? The 2025 XT6 is a direct carryover from '22. '23, & '24.
The VISTIQ has replaced the XT6 from my understanding. That’s what allowed Buick to move up market. A redesigned XT6 will only be due to demand at this point and they do sell well so they could build it and also bring the refreshed XT5 to N. America. Again, demand would have to justify the costs as the Lyriq and VISTIQ are the faces of the Cadillac brand in their respective segments. *gm* is serious about their growth in EVs and their big fish is Tesla.
12:48 I’m sorry but all black interiors just look cheap to me. If you don’t have another color to break up all the black it’s just too much. Not to mention that black interiors suck in the summer time!
The short seat business has got to go. And no thigh extension even on the Avenir trim? They certainly have no corner on this market madness but, wth Buick?
Buick is like the odd child of GM. Especially this one. I mean when I think of GM, I think of chevy, GMC and Cadillac, the main 3. Buick is like the “back burner”… and not to say they’re vehicles are bad becsuse dont get me wrong this is very nice however you have the Acadia Denali which is as nice as this buick imo and then you have, though old, the Cadillac XT6 and yes Cadillac should be giving that a redesign too. Now unless GM puts that on a different platform, the “new” XT6 may also be the size of this, the traverse and the Acadia and thats where this comes in at an odd spot in the company because the question im sure most people will have is what the XT6 may eventually offer that the 3 other triplets dont. At the moment the acadia and buick are already ahead of the cadillac imo just because the XT6 is aging. The XT6 is behind in terms of tech, style and luxury to my eyes but still has that old GM nature to it. Thats where it comes down to price, style and what you want in a vehicle. I personally think Out of the 3 mentioned in the video the GMC did the style on this platform better. I feel the same way for the Full size triplets. I think the grill is a little to much on this imo and yeah I can see what you mean Alex by the front being vertically stretched. Its quite odd looking when you compare it to the Envista and Envision.
Buick is def heading in the right direction with their design language and rebranding. However their Achilles seems to be their engine. Outdated, lacks power and not efficient. If they were to incorporate a new engine, more powerful. Better to drive and more efficient, this would be up there giving the others a run for their market share.
I thought scrolling turn signals weren’t allowed in America, some law that requires there light to be fully on all the time. Maybe they found a way around it.
I think GM did a nice modern redesign of the vehicle, but only being able to get passenger electric seats and electric steering wheel movement should be a standard and only available on Avenir. The sound of the engine is not sporty or luxury . At the Avenir fully loaded costs I would rather purchase a BMW or Mercedes.
Nice interior, but I don’t personally care for the curved monitor. Buick owners are cratchety old farts like myself, and this “new-fangled” craftery may be a turn off for them. HOWEVER, spending over $60k for a porky SUV with a 4 banger probably won’t fly long term. Don’t care if it has 900 horsepower, it sounds like a tractor and likely won’t have the longevity of a larger engine - which might be a deal killer for their clientele.
Wait … why is this car embargoed? I’ve seen these on the roads and actually talked to a husband and wife riding in one… they literally told me how it drives😂😂😂. I’m so confused

Shoppers in general must like piano black trim because it seems that every automaker uses it, and a lot of journalists complain about it. 😂😂

Big Back Buick
I thought scrolling turn signals weren’t allowed in America, some law that requires there light to be fully on all the time. Maybe they found a way around it.
I think GM did a nice modern redesign of the vehicle, but only being able to get passenger electric seats and electric steering wheel movement should be a standard and only available on Avenir. The sound of the engine is not sporty or luxury . At the Avenir fully loaded costs I would rather purchase a BMW or Mercedes.
I like Buicks, I've had 2. But, I like Lexus better, my favorite is the NX..
Looks like Porsche Cayenne wanna be.
I work for a car rental company and our vehicle lables are all shortened. ALL of the Buick crossovers just say "Buick Enc" T.T
Plus sized Envista?
I think top line Palisade far better allaround in looks and interior.
Wait … why is this car embargoed? I’ve seen these on the roads and actually talked to a husband and wife riding in one… they literally told me how it drives😂😂😂. I’m so confused
