I’m learning Korean now. Currently at Level 2 on TTMIK. About to start working on the Level 3 book. I started meeting with an iTalki tutor. I’m going to take the TOPIK next year. I graduated from UC Berkeley and studied abroad at Yonsei University a few years ago. I’m unemployed right now because of a difficult job market in the U.S. I have 2 1/2 years of experience working in nonprofits. I really want to work in Seoul, South Korea for a skincare or tech company in the marketing department.

i graduated from a rather not famous university in the U.S. it is not any profession, it's just a Business degree. like decades ago. Possible to get a job here in Korea? im here taking Korean language course and hairdresser course. Really need a job here as I need a working visa! but most employers want only visa holders!

I'm just curious why so many foreigners want non- teaching job so much. Are teaching jobs so horrible? or do they not pay well?

Both from what I have heard lol. And when English is not your first language you don't have that option, hence people looking into different types of work

If it helps, I had a friend who applied to a school and was told that they are only looking to hire blond women under the age of 25. There have also been rumors that the teaching jobs will start to disappear soon due to the low birth rate. The pay has already been cut over the years, so some teachers only make $15,000 a year in Korea. Even if they cover housing, which is usually a cheap studio apartment, you can't pay student debt on that income. That's why a lot of teachers look to do RUclips as a side hustle.

Thanks for the video. I wonder if grad students can have paid part time job di Korea?

    • @Missklei

As a grad student you are eligible to work part time but only those low skilled type of jobs students usually do. There is a limited amount of hours per week, i think it's 15 or 20. And you have to apply for the authorization with the immigration office. Language students also can work part time but only after 6 months

Hi there. If you find a company willing to sponsor you, you sure can. I believe it is easier to look for a job when you are IN Korea as opposed to looking for a job outside of Korea. With that being said, speaking the language will be a must if you want to increase your chances

I dont have a diploma. I am to old for working Holiday. And I would rather starve than work as a Cook again. I trained & did that for 8 years.I dont see a way for me to stay longer than 90 days. Only as a language student but without earning money its not sustainable.
