I had an RT as a rental for about 2 weeks and drove a little over 2000 miles. Its a fun car to drive around, the exterior and interior look fine IMO, but its a 50k car. IMO, thats waaaaay to much for a small Dodge SUV.
I rented one of these from Budget and found it inexplicably bad, needing 10 hours to charge the battery with the supplied cable, giving you a total of 31 miles of battery from that charge. So you've got just 31 miles to play with the PowerShot before another overnight charge. Reviewers claim this is a respectable range, but driving over 2000 miles in it made the battery useless. I charged it one time only. What's the point? Numerous electrical glitches involving dash display, power seat, headlights, entertainment system and alarm kept me guessing for the three weeks I had it. Other reviewers have said that it's the worst selling car in America and that loan companies don't want to finance them. Just say no!
I'm seeing very few if any on the roads here in Georgia. I'm also hearing that financing is a big hassle because the banks here skiddish about the reliability and depreciation of this car. Not to mention that Stellantis seems to be fishing for a buyer for the Chrysler/Dodge brand right now.
Nice review. I looked at it but beside the sporty performance the Hornet R/T promises, I ended buying the Outlander GT-P PHEV. The overall proposition with the Outlander was much better and at a lower price.
Looks good, but just don't trust the brand quality enough to buy one. Plus, turbo engines are just a problem waiting to happen, especially the small-displacement variety.
All problems can be fixed with updates 👀🤣 nah it’s a good mask for them to push you towards the end of warranty. American cars just aren’t built as good as they used to.
good review. lots of detail
Thanks for commenting on headlight performance. Nobody else does that
People were buying the small SUV was because they were affordable... now that less and less true. Nice comprehensive review. Thank you :)

Great review capturing the issue and explaining what was fixed. Little to small for me unfortunately.

The volume button is on the center console. WTF.
There's adjustments on the steering wheel. The wheel on the center console actually works very well in real world use even though it sounds strange.

Not really an American car, a rebadged Alfa Tonale and built in Italy.
@@paultomaszewski1964 further proving my point 😂
AMC name rip-off! Stellantis Dodge Hornet sits unsold on vast dealer lots!
