I think it was Tae, in a recent interview, that said they let go of the fear about what/how they do stuff, and that got rid of the pressure, cuz now they are doing what they want. People keep forgetting that dynamite, life goes on, butter and permission to dance weren’t supposed to exist. They made these songs to comfort us, and especially PTD is a gift for armys. These songs are to introduce people to BTS and hopefully get them curious enough to check out BTS' discography that has so much diversity and deep meaning songs. BTS Korean songs were so deep in meaning, those were stories of their struggles and pains for the longest time since before they even debuted until they understand and accept that HATE towards them are a part of those success and they came to realized that they just have to accept it and work hard more and be happy. Dynamite was kind of "testing the waters" for them at the same time they wanted to cheer up people (and themselves) around the world amidst the pandemic. There came Butter which looked like they're more confident in singing in English and again to continue cheering ARMYs and people in general. The world has almost contained the virus and people are vaccinated, things almost getting back to normal. Here comes PTD which concludes it... BTS are telling people to be hopeful and be excited to the nearest future. BTS themselves are very excited for this that they expressed it through PTD. BTS three English songs are like trilogy 😁it's interconnected. BTS are so open about working hard on their English and with those 3english songs they get better and better. I can expect BTS will write and produce English songs time to time for their future albums. Their dark themes will unlikely come back but we know BTS they tackle what's important around them. ARMYs can expect English and Korean lyrics for their future songs!!! Guys it's not bad it's just that BTS is evolving... they will write and compose them for ARMYs coz BTS know why we love them so. 💜💜💜💜

PTD was a very well thought song in a time like this, BTS knew the size of their fanbase and they've seriously put into consideration the influence they have with their music really has an affect on all generations, they know they've got people very very young that's watching everything that they're doing and they also know that they've got a lot of older people, they targeted everyone like the video specifically with people of all ages, all races and sizes. I applaud BTS bcs knowing they were probably pressured from other artists or the society with such high expectations to release deep and darker concepts, they literally showed with the power they hold they aren't afraid to do what they love to do and that's reaching everyone from the advantage to the disadvantage. It's a lighter song, but this is a clear song showing that they want to be recognized on a global level and that's something I can very much appreciate. A large majority of music within the western standpoint of music is unrelated to really anything that's beneficial to you, like drugs, perks ect, but ofc there's a very small minority of people producing music that is really touching. BTS knew their assignment I'm not surprised and when I say their assignment, this song alone is an example of BTS's true colors and once again they never cease to amaze me. These Princes of Pop and K-pop legends really out here tryna help ease our minds. Well done BTS!👏🏽💜
I’m sad people are legit hating on the guys because of this song. It’s not the people who dislike it because it’s not to their personal preference but the ones spreading hatred about the song that transfers to the guys. They are free to do the music they want, and if English pop songs are what they want to do during a time where people can’t do shit.. then let them. There’s nothing to criticize them for, like at all. No constructive criticism is going to make BTS put out the music you’re personally into. That’s a biased mindset. Many love this song for exactly what it is and the message it give while others are not into it but at least respect the work that went into it and how happy they are with this song. "I left a purple balloon in your dream" was a message that V sent to comfort one Army during Covid. V has also has been using a lot of sign language lately. So I think that he had them include it into this video as to help more Army to be able to understand this Video. V is a very thoughtful and caring person as well as the other members. Fingers up and down touching thumb means "Talking". Two fingers moving means "Walking". And holding up two fingers also means "Peace". I was also nervous for the same reason - but they shot all those little worries down right away. This song has more meaning than Dynamite and Butter (which are pure bops). It's a happy-tears kind of song if it hits you when you're in a mood. As a pretty new Army (about 9 months), I can't imagine feeling this anticipation and nervousness every single time an MV comes out! Army has been going through this for years, haha. Best part is, there's so much more to come from them. I can't wait for their next full studio album, whenever that will be. There's still the third installment of MOTS to come, isn't there??
Landon, I actually think this song is a bit different! It is a message! In the past we have needed permission to do everything, from shopping to church and we had to do it with a mask! The only thing we didn’t need we permission was to dance. We were stopped in our tracks and pushed down….but we do know how to fall and will always rise from the ashes…..but why not do it dancing!

I was also nervous for the same reason - but they shot all those little worries down right away. This song has more meaning than Dynamite and Butter (which are pure bops). It's a happy-tears kind of song if it hits you when you're in a mood.
As a pretty new Army (about 9 months), I can't imagine feeling this anticipation and nervousness every single time an MV comes out! Army has been going through this for years, haha.
Best part is, there's so much more to come from them. I can't wait for their next full studio album, whenever that will be. There's still the third installment of MOTS to come, isn't there??

Landon, I actually think this song is a bit different! It is a message! In the past we have needed permission to do everything, from shopping to church and we had to do it with a mask! The only thing we didn’t need we permission was to dance. We were stopped in our tracks and pushed down….but we do know how to fall and will always rise from the ashes…..but why not do it dancing!

According to the Twitter @BOMHARU1230 translation, the choreography is "Unified International Sign Language meaning 'fun', 'dance' and 'peace'. Moving two fingers left and right on the other palm means 'dance' as a stage, and finally 'V' ' 'Shape' means 'peace'."

Ik how u feel, cuz I felt the same and bts is known for lyricism and I was not expecting much from this song lyrics wise cuz It felt like a dance song. But the song and mv is soo heart warming. I want ppl to like their songs like we do. Don't get me wrong, I was not a fan of rap or hip-hop cuz it always felt like the culture is a bit misogynistic and even sonically I proffered rnb and pop. But bts just changed my mind about Rap and how it can be used to express complex feelings.
