Hey Chris just wanted to thank you for videos. You inspired me to start my own mobile detail business and I hope to have my own self serve one day just as you. Thank you Chris for the hard work you put into these videos!
Teflon tape. What a relic. Please try locktie 55. If you connect two threaded couplings watertight, try to cut threads with a knife or sawblade. It can be done in the bottom of threads all the way around or across all threads on top. It makes locktie 55 sticks even better. With some practice your joints will never ever leak again. Pressure will not be able to blow out the seal, which makes to leak.
Kudos to you for building such a great business! I have an MBA and run a technology company with 20 employees, I work 60-70 hours/week with mountains of stress dealing with finances, customers, employees and other BS. Based on the videos you've done on income and expenses, my napkin math says you're making roughly twice what I do with 1 part time employee, spending a few hours/week at each location and probably a few more dealing with admin and finances etc. I'm sure you have some headaches with maintenance, vandalism, theft and such but I doubt you deal with a fraction of the BS I do. Either I really suck at what I do or I am clearly in the wrong business (or both).
Haha. Thanks for that. Goes to show how different businesses can be. Yeah it can be annoying when people vandalize or some equipment stops working but it comes with the business. Fix it and move on. And every car wash is different but once built up and the right person to run it is in place it can be very hands off obviously overseeing it everyday and communicating with your employee everyday
Like your channel. That other guy and his car wash and laundromats comes off so stuck up. You guys are down to earth and show the cool parts to everything
i know im tardy to the party on commenting but as someone who works at a car wash, i have 2 suggestions. 1 add breakaway bolts to everything in the bay. Even if you have a big bay, someone will still pull to much to either wall and could possibly hook a mirror or something on a trailer and rip the equipment off and the breakaways are the bang for your buck. 2 switch the foambrush to hang on its side like for your tire and wheel cleaner gun, your more likely going to have people hang it back up out of the way instead of them just setting it against the wall
Hey guy, you’re all about making the public areas look better which is great. What about the “behind the scene” area. Why not spend a couple of bucks on a label maker instead of a permanent marker. You can get the model that takes up to a 1” tall tape which would make all your labeling in the machine room look much more professional and clean. Just a suggestion. Either way keep up the good work and good luck with your future projects.
Been watching you for about 4 hours last night and now back on the recent uploads :) you got me and my future fiancé considering this type of business! Gonna be a couple of years of saving but we are very excited to find our future home in car washing!

Hi Kevin here I'm wondering what brackets You used for mounting your 2 hoses for tire cleaner out in the bays thanks! I appreciate what you do to make these videos
Always great content, Chris! I look forward to your videos. I'm working on upgrading and modernizing my wash, and this kind of content is perfectly timed for me. Thank you for sharing with us!
You should buy a closed 6 bay car wash in Las Vegas It’s been closed for a while. I would do it myself but don’t know where to get the stuff to fix it up. I will send the info if interested.
I have always wanted a car wash. Always looking at the ones in small towns I travel to on the East Coat. Alot of them have the air turned u[ and soap on minium. I guess when no competition you can half ass your car wash. I did not see on your machines if you had the credit card reader option? I have seen them at some washes where I am. Seems like a good idea.
was curious if you had plans to paint it....I thought surely he's not going to invest all that $ in quality upgrades to the washing functions and not give it a fresh coat of paint....that current paint is very aged and not a current color "look" anyway....Looking forward to what colors you go with. I'm very into car detailing and currently live in an apartment so I cannot do safe hand washes at home so I rely on the carwash around the corner....luckily it's been renovated about 4 yrs ago and the owner is "retired" from his main job so he's there all the time just maintaining the property and keeping on top of mechanical maintenance etc. On behalf of all of the people who can't wash vehicles at home we thank you and others like you for keeping up carwashes like this. Absolutely LOVE content like this, keep it up!

It’s not the same water sitting there. It’s constantly being used and refilled with new water. Hasn’t been an issue with my other washes but I see what you mean

Wondering why you didn't invest in some nice white paint for the walls before installing all the new stuff? Would have really brightened things up with the new LED lights. Regardless, great job on the rehab and video!

No I don’t. No particular reason. There’s a few more moving parts to the triple foam but in my opinion it’s just more for show but with a great pre soak customers love that and use it just as much as tri foam. I do find the color changes fun myself though
You do am amazing job but are there companies you can pay to come do an install like this? Im much older and doubt that I could do the physical work and climb up and down ladders all day. lol
I had a similar question-I understand gravity and not having room elsewhere, but why do you need a tank at all for spot-free rinse? Is the flow rate too low for the reverse osmosis filtering to filter as it is dispensed and so you have to filter it and then store it and expect that to be enough of a buffer? Or is this water for everything and not just spot free? Can you tell have no experience in this😂
You must not have to worry about crime or vandalism. We had to have the coins in every bay and vacuum go into concrete encased vaults. All of our vending machines we had to either have the coins go into the equipment room or have the coin drawers reinforced by a machine shop. All of our coin changers were welded in steel stands that were set in concrete so they couldn’t yank them out of the walls.

Smart

Whats your wash?
3/8 ends 25ft coil hose
You gonna do a fresh coat of paint on everything?
Yes
Hey chris, what wall bracket was that you used to connect the tire cleaner and pre-soak hoses?
Just an L shaped piece from Home Depot
@CarWashChronicles oh ok and then with a swivel.
That tank on the roof is going to crack or bust open from the heat of Arizona.
Can’t wait

Someone clicked off early as I explain at end of video 😩
One question I have, if your lease ends or is terminated, can you take out the machinery/equipment you purchased and keep it (for use elsewhere)?
I could but at the end of the lease the equipment will be junk and I’d most likely leave it.
What are the most profitable renovations to start with in your opinion?
What I did it this video. Add pre soak, tire cleaner and also the air dryers (still to come)
