Come along and do my weekly count at my first car wash and see how much a self serve car wash can actually make in only 6 days. Yes!!! Not even a full week! If you need motivating to go out and find a car wash to purchase then hopefully this video will help you get a better understanding on the type of income that can be make by car washes
After working for my Uncle for 2 years at he's car washes I really wanted my own and I came across this car wash. It was completely shutdown for many years so I approached the owner of the land and made a deal with him.
It took me 6 weeks to bring it back to life and open it and now the customers are starting to pour in. Not to mention I opened it during winter so I am yet. to see its full potential but here's a small taste of how its going so far!

What you don’t see is the crap people do here. Break into anything they can bust into. Smash anything,cut the lines ,steal your spray wands , lights, . Pump and on demand hot water heaters very expensive.Sorry I was a land lord saw it all worst 9 years ever.

I worked at Truck/RV Wash for 22 years supervising and Managing at the highest quality of work in California out of Fresno. a buddy of mine which was the senior manager at the time moved on to open His own metal polishing/detailing shop I followed him and did that for 4 years as manager til I got a job with the Post Office for benefits. But I still have the drive for detailing on the side as a hobby but I have a dream and a itch to own my own car wash business. This is motivating.

I just bought a shut down carwash , been down 5 years, all the equipment is there,minus a few hoses. Needs a lil work but i think it will be good. Been there done that. It is all about location an neighborhood. I done great in warm weather but not so much in the cold. Times I would loose money.

Great video! Very inspirational for those looking to follow the same path but is it worth it? Mind indicating how much is your expenses for those 6 days? Water cost/electricity/restocking supplies etc that way folks know if it’s worth it as most of that money you just obtained is going right back out for the purpose of maintaining the business. So how much do you really keep..

That’s great. Congratulations. I get most of my equipment from kleen rite. Many different types weather motors/pumps/hydrominders/hoses/brushes/guns etc.

I don’t count daily. Once a week. I pay bills at end of month and keep the difference.

What part do you track as income when dollars are being exchange for change used and then used back inside the car wash but the cash is in the coin machine. It’s sorta double counting. I am not sure what to standardize counting

hey, I have a quick question u think is better to build a car was from zero where there’s going to be a lot of traffic or buy one anywhere no matter if it is far or not(like yours)?
Depends how much capital you have. If you have millions to play with then building from scratch would be feasible but without that capital finding a rundown one and fixing it up would be a much better option. Starting from scratch requires expenses city permits and underground work for the drains and clarifiers which is very expensive.
That is pretty darn good if its just 6 days. If its 30 days it's like $21k.
Is 4212.75 the total amount before you paid for all the management and maintenance or after

A four bay self service car wash just closed in my area and the property is now for sale. What are the top 5 things that put a car wash out of business (besides lack of customers)?
Miss management where the owner has probably had it for so long and has lost motivation to make it the best it can be. Probably ready to retire and doesn’t want to spend money to remodel it. It may only have two hose options in bay so lots to add there. If it’s the best product for a good price people will come.
Do you double count the bill stacks or does the bank check them again?

Just curious, is there a reason you use tokens? VS just all quarters?
People less likely to break in for tokens.
No coin shortage issues like as of late.
$1 = 1 token so easier for customer to put in 2 coins instead of 8 which leads to less coin jams.
Are there ways to protect yourself with all that cash. Are there armored car services that can pick up/count the cash?
Where i live they shut 2 of them down and sold the lots..only have a few now and never anyone at them..

it may be a good bit of business but the question that still lingers is what/s the entire break down of supplies each week or month? How much do you pay for the building, employees? Do you break even after all this?
Get yourself a set of scales so you will know how much the bag of 1/4 weighs that way you will know exactly how much it weighs so you won’t over pay or be short. 🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍

That’s great. You have plenty of time to learn the business before owning one. I did a video on all the expenses which will show you what costs are associated with running a car wash. You should definitely offer to work with him once a week or so and he can show you things

Maintenance, chemical usage, vacuums not having good suction, wand tips breaking, pits need to be cleaned out, machines breaking, etc. Oh and weather dictates volume. Have a rainy week ahead? Say goodbye to good volume, hopefully you saved money.

It’s in the high desert in California. Somewhat populated. Not as busy as LA of course but still plenty of people. And yes the land is much cheaper out there then say La

Correct. Every quarter I get is from a customer bringing it themselves

Not too much. Just whatever breaks fix which varies week to week. $20 bucks here n there. I bought new equipment in the beginning so nothing major yet and hopefully for a few years
