Noir being a literal "black sheep" in his flash backs is also a not so subtle hint that he never felt like he belonged anywhere. Which makes his character even more sad.
Well, maybe if he didn't go around trying to kill people, he would have friends.

As the seasons progressed, this show transformed from a nice treat to a real masterpiece.
I loved it, I was surprised with what we got and cannot wait to see where it ends up

@@whitewolf7005 well, if you put the quality of ep 6 and 7 before 8, thats what happens. i reckon they couldve ended s3 with herogasm and it wouldve been amazing. though ep8 has an interesting setup...
@@joesoq I can get behind this if the season’s major plot points were mostly resolved in episodes 6 and 7, but everything that was set up in 1-7 led to the major showdown with Homelander in episode 8. And what we got was Soldier Boy going back to sleep, Starlight and Hughie back on good terms, Kimiko having her powers again, Neuman shown as the next target because she’s a supe with a high position, and Homelander is still alive. It almost felt like the reset button was hit after the finale and most of the major things that happened this season didn’t matter. S1 and S2’s finales had great payoffs while also setting up future seasons, but in my opinion I didn’t feel like I fully got that in this finale.
But yes! I agree that the ending scene with Homelander and Butcher’s impending death are great set ups. I still love this show, just wasn’t a fan of this specific finale given have great episodes 1-7 were.

I love how much attention this show gives to the villains. Homelander and Soldier Boy stole the show!
I saw a post on reddit where someone had counted the minutes of screentime given to Soldier Boy, it came out to 13 measly minutes. It felt like he had such a huge presence that it's pretty impressive how low the actual screentime was

Been waiting for this Brandon. Incredible performances from everyone, but man Anthony Starr has just been next level. One of the greatest villains I've ever seen.
Homelander looked up to Noir, so his emotions were legit to him having to kill him

I really never cared much for Noir in the first few seasons but this season made his story so heartbreaking, and with little to no dialogue as well. Impressive stuff

If you didn't notice, the aftermath of the flashback scene in the 80s with Mallory after they got ''ambushed'' was actually the aftermath of them getting rid of Soldier Boy, the whole scene feels so different when you notice that
This show turned into one of my absolute favorite shows of all time. Its easy to put it off bc its "just gory superhero stuff" but damn it is so much more than that
Soldier Boy is such a badass. I can't believe how cool he ended up being.

I agree with what you said about Homelander. I want to see an unhinged Homelander, I think he will be even more powerful with no chains to hold him back. I have no idea where this show can go, since they are not following the comics at all, this series can go anywhere.

The video footage makes it seem like SB missed. Her outfit was fine.
But even if it were to hit. Kimiko was blasted direct hit and thrown several feet in the air and survived. So its established to take a while to firepower.
Crimson Countess took a direct hit and her bones still remained.
TNT Twins were vaporized.
Maeve has higher durability feats than even Homelander when she sliced through an armored car in the first episode.
The fight editing has been wonky all season tho. Atrains brother wasnt shown to be hit by BH.

It's not the best finale for sure probably the weakest. Felt like after all the build up we got not pay-off.
The editing in Butchers nightmare is so great. The quick shots of Lenny and Hughie intercutting. The shots of him beating Gunpowder and that guy from S1 when he’s beating the headmaster.
Billy didn't get mad at Ryan. He pushed him away to try to protect him.
I think this is the longest most anticipated I’ve waited for any of your reactions EVER!

As a single dad I actually feel for Homelander. His son is the only person that matters. When you are raised as an outsider any family becomes that much more important.
I can't wait for season 4, this season was insanely good.

For the few people who will get this, Ryan's last shot made me think of Zack in The Strain. Under the wing of the big bad with no rules or limits, all the power they want and no possible repercussions. Doomsday level entitlement.

So SoldierBoy is Homlanders father and how fked up in a good way the show is iam almost 100% sure Stormfront will be(was) his mother.

She’s like a B level hero always going up against the best A listers, she’s gonna look weak against them.

Yeah.. Huge build up and then just a flash and a fizzle.
It was powerful enough to stun and weaken SB so MM could gas him. It took all the supes of Payback to take him down. This was just Starlight, Kimiko, and regular human MM.
Undamaged SB should be able to overpower all 3.
Also it was to show off her new power of flight. And to cap Hughies arc.
Useless in terms of taking down Soldier Boy, but story wise its about character development for Hughie and Annie
This is like the 3rd time Ryan has destroyed Butcher's life.
the outro violin is perfect and honestly so fitting to the character of homelander
The more i think about it, the more i realize, Mindstorm being bipolar and hearing voices might be cause by his powers, who knows in how many minds he has been, read or controled, but nothing tell us that his mind isn't equally vulnerable.
I think it's more the current American trend of insisting that many murderers are Bipolar or Narcistic, amateur psychology on True Crime comment sections is full of it. No one seems to accept that some people are just horrible people.
Absolutely amazing season. The wait for s4 is gonna be painful.
God i hate the “british” accents in this show… karl urban gets away with it more because he’s from NZ but the kids playing young billy and lenny have quite possibly the worst English accents i’ve ever heard…
I use mute & subtitle on American shows that have "Cockney" accents

i'd love to see some animators add in all of Noir's friends to some of his awkward silent interactions throughout the first 2 seasons to fill in the gaps. Specifically how friendly they were all probably being when Starlight introduced herself.

Stillwells Son was seen in the Red River shelter, it was the Kid, which teleported, rewatch it, he was called Teddy Stillwell.
I wonder if they will pick that up in later seasons
@@Tekawoo Irrelevant, since Butcher had no way of knowing the kid was a supe and could teleport himself to safety.
@@Tekawoo But what counts is that Butcher had the total intention of blowing up the house, even if a baby was there.
Overall a great season, but felt the final episode was kinda weak.

Jensen Ackles is just 🤌 his voice is so good.
The show is a little heavy handed, but it has the visceral vibe that Marvel and DC needs. Even Deadpool seemed like such a soft R. Studios just gotta commit and trust the maturity level of their audiences.
Last ep was a bit disappointing, just back to square one.. oh well, good series overall so far
I was thinking the same. Nothing really meaningful was achieved, especially not for a final episode. Everything was okay until the point where they all ran into each other. From then on it was just poorly written.
Some characters are kicked out, the seven is even smaller now, homelander is even more unhinged, and Victoria is bad for sure now

You know they're putting Soldier Boy on ice just to keep him in their back pocket. There's no logical reason to not smash his brain up when he's unconscious.
More like they can't. Remember how the Russians tried all things they could to damage him but couldn't? Heck even Butcher's lasers to the face did zero damage.
@@ankitg7994 The Russians weren't trying to damage him, they were experimenting on and testing him. He didn't have the splodey V frying ability before his capture.
@@TigerNightmare Yeah but some of their experiments did involve checking on what could damage them. It was on one of the videos that the Boys watched.
@@ankitg7994 But he's not indestructible. When Butcher lasered his face, it cut his cheek and he bled. He grunts and groans when he gets hit by a supe. He uses the shield to protect himself. Had Butcher not intervened at Herogasm, Homelander would have choked him out. There's nothing they can't reproduce with industrial machinery, if not just using actual supes to kill him.
@@TigerNightmare Actually he bled from the Shield's broken shrapnel. Not from Butcher's laser. But yeah he's not indestructible. But he's ALMOST indestructible. Not to mention they always run the risk of him reawakening through enough shock if they attempt to kill him & it fails.
& they also want him alive as a last ditch measure against homelander especially now that even ryan is slowly turning bad.
Also I think he might possess some level of healing abilities. When he is put in the medically induced coma, he doesn't have the scar from the cheek injury. Honestly atp I think the only way to kill him would be using more of that shield shrapnel. (Albeit I think maybe Ryan could do significant damage as well seeing as how with each generation they are getting stronger from SB to HL to Ryan). Other supes could maybe make him feel the equivalent of a strong push if they use their full power (eg. Annie) but he's too powerful for them to do significant damage.
And Soldierboy know Stormfront. He said she was a firecracker. I bet Homelander had sex with his biological mother. I also don't think for a second Stormfront is dead. Edgar just took her out of the game. She will return, either fully recovered on her own or with spare parts like Darth Vader. Furthermore, they always showed all deaths in this show and Stormfront's suddenly not? Dare I doubt.
Furthermore, Ryan is the only one besides Soldierboy who can inflict damage on Homelander. Ryan's laser eyes are stronger than Homelander's. We saw that on Stormfront. Homlander's laser eyes only hurt her a little and she enjoyed it. Ryan's took her apart.
Maive was hurting Homelander.

Stranger things S4 reaction??
The only thing I didn't like about this season was that Maeve should have died. Not that I wanted her to, I liked her character, but she became powerless mid fall from a skyscraper during a blast that has been shown to level buildings. No reason that she should have lived.
My republican dad FINALLY realized The Boys had been poking fun at Trumpicans and the Christian Nationalist right the whole time. And now he has swore off watching season 4. The very last scene gave it away I guess.
I kind of hope that means he's realized how absurd his beliefs are and he's just angry that the show made his beliefs look foolish. Not holding my breath.
Wait until he realizes Homelander is Trump's ego on V.

Just explain to him that it is showing the Democrats in a similarly poor light, as they have been easily conned by wolves in sheep's clothing. Stormfront had them all going by simply saying the right buzzwords in the first half of Season 2, when she was actually a literal Nazi. Victoria is just as warped and evil as Homelander, and is even actually working with him in secret, to each further their own goals.

This season did SO much for the characters, even if the plot didn't really go much of anywhere. Everything went back to how it started in season 3, but significantly worse lmao. Also it sets up for season 4 which, if done right, will surely be one of/if not the best season in the boys.
Gonna be hard to turn Ryan around.
I thought of really good film from 1973...... 'The Seven- Ups'.
I think Maeve will be the new Grace. I don't think Mallory makes it through next season, and only then would we get Maeve back, to replace her.

Soldier Boy was right about the Priest and Nun. No way a Nun would do that lol. Mindstorm was just using them as a distraction to get away but didn't work.
The priest and nun were part of the Samaritans Embrace the stretchy supe Ezekials cult... So maybe they were bad guys.

I kind of agree, but Soldier Boy had already shown he wouldn't die from that explosion a few times. Maive's redemption sacrifice was what got ruined.

I personally thought the last few episodes, especially episode 8, was so disappointing.
Butcher would never go after Soldier Boy just because he hit Ryan. That made zero sense.
And as always no major death. And with Noir gone, it also changes the comics ending in a way.
A few big characters should have died. In the end, S1 is still the best season and S3 the worst of them all. Nothing really changed.
