      That’s why you move around your head against the movement of the flow of traffic. So approaching roundabout first, you lean right to make the mirrors go left in your field of vision, then as you are approaching, move left, so the mirror move right against the flow of traffic. Viola, you can see behind the mirror and know if there’s someone behind it.

      @@roadbiker8333 I'm 47, been driving job 25 years! I know how to move and check the road. But why do you think it's called a blind spot? Why do you think hgv now have the mirrors inside the cab? It's not as easy as you suggest! Round abouts can have alot of bushes or signs that inhibit being ablento see all of the road, ie vehicals already on the roundabout!It's to make people stop b4 they pull out! But withbtrucks getting slower (for fuel) and cars getting faster..and alot of car drivers don't fully understand the rules on roundabouts.....lack of indicator! How a 40 foot trailer behaves while going round a corner...ie we will pinch a lane, yet cars still wana get beside us and risk being squashed! It's almost like they have no idea, yet still try to tell us how to drive!

    • @roadbiker8333
      @roadbiker8333 Год назад +1

      @@terrystratford1235 why? Because truck drivers are too lazy to move your body to look around the mirrors. It’s may not be easy for you, but i have no problem looking around those mirrors, so stop using that as an excuse. Also, i bet you would think that the guy standing there was in the blind spot, in one of my videos, i have clearly demonstrated you have full view of the cab around using properly adjusted mirrors. That guy was not in any blindspot, all you need to do is look at the mirrors then you would have seen him.
      And btw, “roundabouts can have a lot of bushes or signs that inhibit being ablento see all of the road” that’s absolutely wrong. Once you are at the give way line, there would be NO obstructions blocking your view of the the road from the right. You should be able to see more given the height. That’s roundabout regulations. If you find that you dont have the time to look between coming out from the tree lines before you get onto tHe roundabout, then you are clearly travelling way too fast.
      LOL, a lot of the roundabouts trucks can fully stay in lane: yet you are too lazy to do so. I have seen it so many times. Massive space on the outside corner with a wide lane, but because truck drivers are too lazy, you cant be bothered to swing wide and decide to straighten the roundabout. I have even heard some truck drivers making excuses saying that there’s no time for turning the wheel to make the wider corner. Lol it’s all because they were driving too fast but they were too blinded to see that.
      If you drive properly then you dont need car drivers telling you how to drive properly.

    • @roadbiker8333

      @@terrystratford1235 try asking someone to stand behind the mirror area then you move your body, you will then be able to see them. It’s really not hard. It’s pure geometry stuff. If you cant, then you clearly dont know how to move and check the road, thus proving my point. Ans if you can, again, proving my point.
      And dont even complaint about having so many mirrors to look, i have 7 mirrors installed on my van. That’s 1 more than these lorries. I still managed.

    The pillar plus the m.irrors themselves are blind spots, you have to move your head and wait a fraction longer before moving.
    The more mirrors the easier to get overload on checking them especially driving in cities with for example cyclists coming up both sides at lights and jumping red lights and pedestrians walking under the window then stopping for traffic coming the other way. Its very mentally exhausting to drive properly.
    It's easier if you don't concentrate and just turn the wheel and use the controls, but it can ruin your day when your wheels go over someone head.

    As an HGV class 1 driver, I can say car drivers do NOT know how to behave around lorries! Remember people! We are a massive 44 ton animal and a standard car stands no chance if it hits the lorry!
    Please keep away from us and give us a lot of space! After all we are nearly 16 meters long!

    Talk about how lorry drivers are more than happy to tailgate drivers in 50mph speed restricted motorways. They have no regard for the size of their vehicles if an emergency stop is needed by a car in front. Clowns.
