With regards to kofimania, does anyone else find it strangely hilarious that Orton was the reason Kofi lost his initial push years before but was also the one who cause Ali's injury which led to Kofi actually getting that push? Funny how things can sometimes work out like that right?
full circle moment
He made it up to him
Now who will he injure for Ali to finally get his push..
@@VinayakNagriyo well idk if Orton will even be back from his injury this time. Back problems may force retirement
Ali should never be spoken about when talking about titles never fucking mind the mind big name titles!! 💯💯💯
Other Butterfly Effects:
- Eddie’s death cancelling a match w/ HBK and starting Rey’s main event push
- Benoit’s death cancelling Mr. McMahon’s death storyline
- HHH’s involvement in Curtain Call creating Austin’s KOTR push and causing the Austin 3:16 promo
The rock vs stone cold vs triple h survivor series 1999
More like Benoit’s death being the cause of the PG era.
i hope you don’t mean Eddie and Benoits deaths are small occurrences
@@archivalhorror That is the definition of butterfly effect. Every last one of these things talked about in this video were small things that became massive.
- Cm punk leaving in 2014
- Honky Tonk Man not dropping the IC title at WM4 to Randy Savage
Dr of thungonamics was a huge gimmick change for cena, He went from the most generic wrestler on the roster during that time to a guy everyone want to see on TV and give us pure entertainment.
For me, it made me stop watching.
Cenas originally charcter was like the create a wrestler on Samckdown Vs Raw
@@jackdonkey11 gladly most people are not like you
@@justinatmidi agreed
If only he could have stayed that way and went heel
Usos forfeiting the match was a class organic fan favourite moment in Kofimania storyline
Shout out to Stephanie for seeing John Cena's potential. I am starting to think that Stephanie and Triple H have always had a vision for young wrestling talents. Vince is out of touch with wrestling.
Lol. When Steph gave Cena another chance - have a vision
When Vince purposely built Cena as the megastar after that - no touch whatsoever.
Fickle.
Yeah, Vince is so out of touch he made Daniel Bryan the main guy during the yes movement
@@review1865 piggy backing off of his daughter’s decision doesn’t make it a good decision for him, it was still her
Good decision. Without her push for cena he woulda been another generic wrestler. Cenas hip hop appeal brought in a new demographic. That wwe spinner belt is 1000000% a direct correlation to the rapping that Stephanie told him to keep with. Not Vince’s decision. He pushed a star that was formed because of somebody else. That’s not fickle, that’s facts. Cenas entire gimmick from spinner belts, chain locks, the chain gang and even the “you can’t see me” (that he took from rapper tony yayo) is all byproducts of RAPPING. something Vince would’ve never gave cena the idea to do. Stop dick riding
@@jasonmitchell71 It was? You sure?
Fickle.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 vince is great
Man KO vs Jericho would've been such a great match for Universal Title at WrestleMania both had a great chemistry. Friendship of Jericho and Owens is one of the best storylines in recent years.
Festival of Friendship but we knew what you meant. That feud was the best thing going in to Mania that year. Goldberg vs Lesnar did not need the title on the line
You showed a clip of the MSG Curtain Call at the beginning. That is a huge butterfly effect, impacting both Triple H and Steve Austin, as well as the Attitude era as a whole. Bret Hart deciding to sign with WCW is another one with many effects.
This channel usually does that: they'll show clips of more popular moments as examples at the beginning, then the actual examples they give are lesser known instances of the subject. I think it's pretty cool because it shows that they do their research and you get to learn about more obscure events.
@@brandonhawkins1288 i appreciate it because there's a million and half videos about things like the curtain call.
The curtain call and Bret signing with WCW were not seen as minor occurences at their time. He should've started the video with a definition of "the butterfly effect", because it means something small and seemingly careless snowballing into something major down the line. Curtain call leading to Steve Austin winning King of the Ring and changing the trajectory of WWF almost single-handedly was more like a earthquake creating a tidal wave than a pebble starting an avalanche, because it was probably the biggest shoot wrestling occurence since the steroid and ringboy scandals years prior.
@williamsmith1803 I'd say that's still something small causing something much larger to happen: the curtain call was big for wrestling, but Steve Austin's ascension was big for entertainment, not only because it affected the industry, but because it gave rise to the Rock and, subsequently, John Cena, changing entertainment as a whole.
That could be the biggest one in history given the success that followed
One butterfly effect I always think about is the fact the curtain call led to Stone Cold winning King of The Ring, leading for him to cut the famous 316 promo, and for him to become one of the biggest wrestlers of all time
Shawn Michaels not being in the main event of WM 13 led to Stone Cold facing Bret Hart, leading to a classic match and a big help for Stone Cold's push as the face of the Attitude Era.
The biggest butterfly effect was Scott Hall leaving WWF and convincing Kevin Nash to leave with him.
Their decision brought about the MSG curtain call which helped Stone Cold become a superstar and guaranteed contracts to the wrestlers. Plus starting the Attitude Era which changed everything.
I still think back to the time Rey Mysterio injured Cody Rhodes with a 619 and Cody started wearing a mask and became like a Dr Doom style villain character and literally put in his best in ring work prior to joing AEW and his WWE returns. It was during that run that I really started to appreciate the Intercontinental championship.
I like the theory that Miz teasing CM Punk on WWE Backstage and Punk blowing up over it led to Punk going to AEW
Feeling sad for Ali. He was supposed to win MITB too but the plan was altered at the last minute and Brock won MITB. And then Randy injuring him to block his main event level push. Hope Ali gets to the place he deserves.
I would say a Royal Rumble victory this year could do that, but it's going to be either Cody Rhodes or Sami Uso almost for sure.
Ali is blatantly BS I guarantee I could whip his ass in a fight how can a wrestle be weaker than the fans? Shouldn’t I get a spot?
This aged well lmao
Kennedy’s wwe career breaks my heart cuz of how freakin charismatic he is.
Shawn Michaels hurting his back was the best thing to happen to him and triple h. That’s a butterfly effect I just thought of as well. The feud between shawn and bret was also a butterfly effect as it led to the Montreal screw job and then eventually into the greatest heel in wwe history mr mcmahon
And that Montreal screw job literally started the attitude era the moment Bret spit in Vince face it started
You could make a whole documentary on the butterfly effects caused by the Curtain Call. It goes so much deeper than just Steve Austin's push to the main event
I think the biggest one had to be the January 23, 1984 edition of WWF in Madison Square Garden. Iron Sheik was meant to lose his WWF title to Bob Backlund, but he ended up no showing. So WWF ended up pushing a random midcarder in his place.
Said midcarder was Hulk Hogan. The rest is history.
I think it's safe to say that Roman getting covid at the begining of 2022 changed everything about that year.
Curtain call that caused Steve Austin's King of the ring win should be no.1 here
Biggest one HAS to be curtain call incident leading to HHH King of the ring cancelation leading to the birth of Austin 3:16 leading to WWEs biggest asset and winner of the Monday night wars
What a great idea for a video. Bookmarked for later, my man!
Roman Reigns getting COVID prior to the Day 1 event last year derailed the company's entire plan for the foreseeable future and will be looked back on as a massive butterfly effect.
With Reigns out, Lesnar won the WWE title, carried it into Wrestlemania for the unification match and resulted in Reigns being crowned Undisputed champion, making him an even bigger star - the entire roster has been fed to Reigns at this point - and creating a massive megastar in whoever ends up beating him for the title.
That megastar at this point is likely either Cody if it's this Wrestlemania or Summerslam, or Bron Breakker if they hold off on it until WM 40.
Sami would be some people's choices, but he's not mine. Not only is he not believable to beat Roman, but the cover for Elimination Chamber features him. Since Roman's retaining vs KO at Royal Rumble, and Sami's test is at RR, this means Sami's going to fail Roman's final test, likely finally kicking him out the bloodline, and setting him up for either a title match with Roman, who is 100% retaining there, or he reunites with KO and they challenge for the tag titles.
The way way Kofi dropped the title is one of the most disrespectful moments in history
such a shame that they decided to take it all away from kofi with brock. he had so much time left with the title
Kofi quickly became on of my favorite wrestler's back in 2010 when I started watching wrestling again. People finally getting behind him made me so happy. So underrated. When he finally won the title I was so happy for him I actually had a tear come to my eye.
As far as butterfly effects though I'm surprised you didn't mention 2010 Summerslam when it was obvious The Nexus were getting their big push and Cena refusing to let them win over him completely derailing all their momentum and none of those 7 guys had a decent career most of them leaving coming back getting a little push and leaving again.
Man, that Kofi win still brings me to tears
Man, seeing Kofi winning the WWE title still makes me cry tbh 🤣🤣🤣
The Undertaker dropping Kane from his original name is definitely a lesser known butterfly effect
One of the biggest examples of the Butterfly Effect in wrestling was the Curtain Call, which HHH got punished for, leading Steve Austin to win the King of the Ring 1996, dropping Austin 3:16 and taking the first steps to becoming the biggest draw in wrestling history, building WWF back up as WCW sank and went out of business. If the Curtain Call hadn't happened, WWF may have lost the fight to WCW.
“Vince referred to KO vs Jericho as the worst Wrestlemania in HISTORY” okay, let me go watch the spectacular, exhilarating Vince vs Bret match
Perhaps also watch Uncle Elmer vs Adrian Adonis from WrestleMania 2. Yikes...
“Massive” movie star is generous AF lol
A-Train smiling at Cena rapping is adorable.
Randy orton took kofi's push in 2010 after 9 years Randy give him his push back by injuring mustafa ali
I believe the demise of Mr. Kennedy (Kennedy) was a combination of all three things mentioned: backstage heat, bad luck (the injuries) and his own mistakes.
His cena a movie superstar. I’ve never seen him in a movie. Can’t name a movie he’s been in
6:58 put "Penta" paper. . . I see what you did there.
I LIVE in the home city for AEW, but never did it occur to me that it was based out of my damn city. One day I'm gonna go to their live event thanks to your butterfly effect video acting as it's own butterfly effect.
Chris Jericho leaving WWE is literally the biggest butterfly effect in wrestling history
My least favorite butterfly effect moment was when Vince made The Fiend lose to Goldberg at Crown Jewel ppv which resulted in me walking away from WWE
HHH was earmarked to win KOR 1996. Due to going off script by hugging Hall and Nash after a match in the ring prior to them leaving for WCW he was punished and KOR 1996 was given to Austin and Austin 316 was born as Austin wrestled Roberts in the final. Austin now doubt would still have risen to the top but than win and promo cut after the match speeded up his rise and significantly influenced the WWF and WCW war.
smooth video
One reason I think people were more behind Kofi is because Randy was the reason Kofi lost momentum to get the championship years prior, and people were looking forward to him finally getting the belt. Also because it was someone new and worthy of the belt, not the same reused wrestlers and not someone who already had hype. It was a nice change, it was given to someone who had earned their chance and put the work in, not someone who the WWE tried to push themselves, but someone the fans wanted. That's just my own opinion though, I feel he did really earn it
I think Kofis go’s back even further, if that crowd one day didn’t chance “new day suck’s” they would of never turns heel and became the new day we know today
Eddie Guerrero’s death
Easiest one is Austin saying Austin 3:16 at KOTR. That line was the start of his rise
My favorite part of kofimania was the promo kofi cut during the contract signing.
Another butterfly effect was Roman missing Day 1
That WWEGuy must feel like a million bucks for putting out the question that changed the wrestling world.
Finn Balor, straight out of NXT being pushed to the moon, beating Roman and Rollins to become the first Universal Champion like a month into his Raw debut. He was on course to becoming the face of WWE. But he had to give it up the day after he won it because of the injury he received in the title match.
Since then it has pretty much been midcard hell for him.
The real Buttlerfly effect for Jericho was that he asked Vince for NXT talents for his Wrestling Cruise... he said No so Jericho asked the Bullet Club/ROH crew that started All In and the rest is history
I was there in attendance for the birth of Kofimania @ Elimination Chamber, I lost my voice for Kofi
For some strange reason, Vince's response after Kevin Owens asks him what he thought about the match kinda irks me.
KO genuinely wanted feedback and Vince straight up shits on his performance without any actual reasoning. You can see KO wait for a second for him to explain what he didn't like, but Vince gave him the cold shoulder.
Not that he has to owe explanations to people, but the guy was your world champion for months and that's how you treat him? Harsh
The curtain call could be on here as well. Triple H was scheduled to win king of the ring that year but was replaced with Steve Austin after that hug. Austin 3:16 was born as a result and made one of the most popular wrestlers in history. Wwe probably doesn’t win the Monday night wars without Austin.
The WWF would have won the Monday Night War with or without Austin. It was good to have him, but they could have done it with the Rock, and WCW took every opportunity to shoot itself in both feet.
Here’s another big butterfly effect, in 2007. Triple h was apparently slated to win the royal rumble and main event wrestlemania. Where this time he would have defeated John cena. And HBK would have been in the battle of the billionaires match.
Day 1 2022 caused one of the biggest and best storylines the bloodline
wow when people said stephanie carried the wwe thru the pg transition they weren't kidding, she had eye for for talent and personality long before she was ceo.
Mr Kennedy wouldve been a major star if he was given that push. as you can see from his TNA days he had “it”
Never noticed they were gonna reveal Mr Kennedy as Vince’s son in his hometown in Green Bay had he not been suspended
what song is that in the beginning? kind of sounds like xpac
“Pen to paper”… “penta paper” I see what you did there.
Kofimania was probably one of the best things that ever happened in modern Wrestling, so there's zero takeaway from that marvel. But I always wonder to myself what might have happened if Ali didn't get injured? The fans loved him. He was great in the ring and on the mic. He would have made a great champion in his own right. I think about this because it's a shame to see where he is on the card now, having little one off feuds and ultimately being a jobber. It sucks to see honestly.
Isn't he starting to get more TV time again though? Maybe he might finally get the push that was taken from him bedore
That’s wild that Randy injured Ali and it seems like he suffered no recourse from that.
He’s randy orton
UFC Diego Sanchez fighting BJ Penn for the 155lb belt, and on his way to the cage, Sanchez screams "Yes! Yes! Yes!" which willbe stolen by Daniel O'Bryan
Not to mention with Cena that it was his rapper gimmick that gave us one of the most iconic belt designs in WWE. Kinda nuts how we've now gone to the same, boring looking belt design for just about everything.
The curtain call. It ruined Triple H’s push, he was supposed to win King of the Ring but instead it was Stone Cold, and that’s where the infamous Austin 3:16 came from. And the rest is history.
"AEW's biggest coup came when Chris Jericho put Pen-to paper..." (shows a picture of Jericho in Penta's mask)
Great video!! Very original idea. Love it
NGL, i cried when Kofi finally become WWE Champion at WrestleMania.
Eddie’s death is one of the biggest butterfly effects. It lead to completely safer regulations. And changed how wrestling is if you think about it.
Also very crazy when Vince died in the limo explosion his wife Linda was supposed to be arrested for causing it and the company would go to Vince’s son Kennedy. Kennedy would use this power to win the WWE championship and the story would’ve ended with Triple H vs Kennedy at WrestleMania for the WWE championship and control of the company. This never happened because after the Beniot incident Vince had to scrap him being dead to acknowledge the tragedy.
I totally believed the whole limo explosion situation, admittedly I was a kid at the time and in retrospect its easy to punch holes in its believability, although it is shot well and I still don't know exactly how they did it. Seeing Vince the following week to announce the ill-fated Benoit tribute show was quite a moment.
Should of name this video gen z card changes
Butterfly effect. Vince says yes to Scott Halls raise in 96. He never goes to WCW which also means Kevin Nash stays. They both stay in WWF, no nWo or possibly the boom period of the late 90s doesn't happen.
You forgot alundra blaze throwing the women’s title
Bruhhhh Ali deserves so much
i wouldn’t call cena a "major" movie star
I would've love to see a Chris Jericho Universal Championship reign.
Boom! Butterfly Effect!
Kofi mania was so beautiful
Vince taking over for his dad probably the biggest butterfly effect because it made the territories extinct and bore the sports entertainment we have today. Curtain call, without it no austin 316, Benoits murder suicide bore the pg era, 90s steroid trial reshaped wrestling to a smaller, more in ring talent era with Shawn and Brett instead of hulk and Mach.
and not to mention very boring shit!
without the likes of Rock, Austin, Taker, Hogan or Cena, wrestling wont be popular.
6:19 This prove how crazy Old Man Vince is! How you are going to change a great feud trajectory by Yourself and then blame it on other when it doesn't work? 🤦🏾♂️
How about the biggest butterfly effect the Montreal screwjob helping to create the attitude era of wwe
This video made me feel insanely bad for Ali...
One concussion ruined his entire career in WWE, and it wasn't even his fault.
From what event is the scene at 0:36?
The only thing that ruined Kofimania for me, was when the camera went past what was clearly the wwe championship covered on a table at ringside lol
So? Lol
There is no bigger butterfly effect then the curtain call. With no curtain call we would of never gotten stone cold steve austin or possibly even the attitude era. Legitimately could of lost wrestling in general
Yeah who doesn't know the triangle of worst wrestlemania matches
Giant Gonzales VS undertaker
Jerry Lawler vs Michale Cole
Chris Jericho vs Kevin Owens
Totally fits in there right ?
If you have Kennedy in your name, expect bad luck.
It's largely theoretical, but could Sting's lack of a tan could have helped lead to the rise of Goldberg. Sting shows up for Starrcade 97 and he's in a bad place and doesn't have a wrestlers tan. Hogan sees this freaks out and screws up the ending to the show (according to himself). Screwy ending leaves Sting as being less of a champion leading to the chaos of the first half of 98. They need a new Babyface to do battle with the NWO, and Goldberg was really their only choice.
What about that time HBK accidentally hit Taker with a chair that cause him to lose the title to Bret in Summerslam 1997 which led to the first Hell in a Cell match and Montreal Screwjob
The curtain call caused probably the biggest butterfly effect in pro wrestling history. I have no idea why you didn't include it in your list
Honestly yeah Goldberg vs Lesnar was a great match at Mania 33 but damn did KO and Jericho deserve that main event spot at Mania 33 which could've stole the show and he would've stayed. Also KO and Jericho having a sub par match because the show was already too long and the fans hated that they were second for the US Title it's why the match was dead it was no fault of Jericho's or KO's and Vince saying that was the worst Wrestlemania match in history was clearly wrong and needed to see the last Mania matches
Chris Benoits heel turn
Post hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc
“Massive movie star”. In comparison to who? Triple H?
Newest addition, Cody getting injured leading to Sami zayn becoming the biggest baby face in the entire company
93? Wcw didn't ever sell over 10k? No way!
I wish Ali got his opportunity still
Kofimania will forever be legendary
Said pretty much from the beginning that if Roman turns heel and loses the vest, he'll be accepted as the Heir Apparent. And what do you know...
That whole Kofi mania storyline just made bryan a hippocryte. Callin Kofi a B PLUS PLAYER is low. Especally for someone who also got that move. U wouldn't have think it was bryan the one throw back the same shit he went through to someone else. But that's all just for show. Plus he wanted to keep his wooden title so bad. He do whatever it takes.
