"Gregory Helms pretended he was a superhero." You say that as if it was bad, and that he wasn't one of the most over guys on the roster with that gimmick.
I will NEVER forget his interactions with The Rock in 2003. Some of the best stuff EVER in WWE.
Whassupwiththat?
The Scorpion King...has a tiny ding-a-ling!
I honestly loved the Hurricane gimmick. Say what you will, but he made the gimmick work for what it was.
the gimmick, the Titantron opening, the promos, Mighty Molly. hurricane Helms is one of my all-time favorite gimmicks. just like the new day, he had fun with it and fans could see it.
Umm excuse me Andrew but the Hurricane is one of the best gimmicks of all time.
Eric Ratcliffe 10000% agree. I always anticipated for The Hurricane and his side kick Rosie
Yeah I mean shane helms is still competing as the hurricane how many low card wrestlers from the early 2000s can say that they still use the same gimmick and still be over with the fans
The hurricane is a great gimmick, especially because Shane helms is a huge comic book fan
True hell even Rosie's superhero in training was a good gimmick
Better than ricochet
Now I'm not hating on the US (I love the country) or hating on Andrew (he's a good guy with potential) but please leave this to the more charismatic people like Adam
I actually like this guy
Better than a straight, dull read with no charisma.
+Wesley Webb You clearly prefer jokes about farts and don't require much intelligence to understand
+Wesley Webb calm down lad, he made it clear it wasn't because Andrew isnt a brit. But a brit, Adam is better than Andrew. Then again Adam is probably the most charismatic person on RUclips
Shut the Fuck up
The Straight Edge Society weren't totally wasted. How could they be? The were straight-edge. :3c
Ryusuta
haha nice
B+
Ryusuta Well done, young grasshopper. Your puns please me.
*Bat Dum Tsss*
Ryusuta 😂 it took me like 3 seconds to get what you did there. Bravo! 👏👏👏
I don't get it
Every time I see a faction I don't know, I think of Patrick.
"WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE!?!!?"
I don't mind Andrew. He's average. But i just wish he'd stop trying to be funny. He's not funny at all, and the constant attempts at jokes while i sit in stony silence is not convincing me he's any good
I feel like it's part of the joke now.
He's the Byron Saxton of Whatculture
+FromTheInternets True
same
Oh, I didn't notice he was trying to make jokes....my bad. Maybe next time
I don't know why everyone is hating on this guy.
Cause he's not sexy like Simon.
+Guinea Pig Racer! ADAM
+Guinea Pig Racer! LMAO
+Nasty Nelson JACK
+Nasty Nelson OTHER ADAM!
*Doc Gallows sacrificed himself twice by being in 2 trash stables so that he could eventually be in one of the greatest stables*
TOOOOO SWEET
The Union.
Mick Foley
Big Show
Test
Ken Shamrock
Yeeeaah!
But it worked tho
@@priyankuhandique7058 Uuuuuhhhh, no it didn't. It was canned within 2 months BECAUSE it didn't work and fans weren't at all behind it. Management had no direction for the group, and they had no chemistry as a team. How you could think that it worked is beyond me.
Ive been watching these videos for like 5 hours now, and I cant stop myself. I havent even watched WWE in 4 years.
Honorable Mentions:
The Authority
The Wyatt Family
Legacy
The New Breed
i fucking loved legacy they broke up way too soon and basically killed the careers of ted and cody
James Lacey
yeah, it became all about Randy Orton while Ted and Cody were just lackeys. At least they got to beat DX at Breaking Point, so that's something
I would agree that the legacy break up killed Ted's career, but Cody still did well on his own for a while. A 2 time IC champ(and the reason the belt looks the way it does now) as well as a cumulative 6 time tag champ.
The Wyatt family didn't break up yet and the authority were not a faction
The Flock as well
Serena from the straight edge society should be Sister Abigail.
nah. If they are going to make anyone Sister Abigail it should be Lisa Moretti (Ivory) or Jackie Moore. 2 Bad A$$ ladies who gave Bray some tough love when he was growing. totally credible and a blast from the past
cliff graham also good choices homie.
Pete Olivarez sister Abigail is dead
You guys are all forgetting someone. Remember Kharma?
Podgórski37 Or Bray.
I actually kinda like this dude. He's not really that bad, actually, in my opinion.
this is better than his show that he created.
Better than Jack, at least...
He's not good dude. He's not a bad dude. He's a dude.
***** Well, I mean, I just said it. So that basically invalidates your whole comment.
***** Yeah, you probably shouldn't make claims you know are false.
i kind of feel like Raven's Flock in WCW was wasted
Yep should have been like 4 members then half the roster was in it and it was lame
You Are So Right & Raven's Flock Started 1 Year & 3 Months After The NWO Started.
So in one entry you're bashing Dixie Carter for putting new talent over existing TNA talent, and in the very next entry you call out Vince Mcmahon for putting his existing talent over incoming WCW wrestlers. I don't think you can have it both ways
Strictly Better MtG I'm sleepy so if I got this wrong somehow my bad, but I think the idea is that the faction itself was wasted because of the opposite actions. There's a middle ground.
Well TNA fucked because they put old guys over their young guys and WWE put young guys over their old guys.
Strictly Better MtG nah the problem is in both The Fortune and Radicalz situations the big money team lost
In the case of Fortune, they were beat by old ECW talent that was brought in just for the storyline. In the case of The Radicals, they were young talent brought in to be part of the main roster but were seemingly punished for having been part of the WCW roster first. That being said, half of the Radicals went on to become World Champions.
Strictly Better MtG wwe took over wcw these were his guys now tna just bummed retired wrestlers
It makes me angry to see how often WWE flaunts its own ego rather than ushering in a good storyline...
They run it like they're superior to everyone. I think we have a pretty clear understanding.
+A.J. Farmer ummmmm and they are and??!!?
Aces and Eights wasn't all bad really. Though once Bully Ray won the title, their ideas became meaningless. Great story for a stable at the start, but weak end to it.
Very true and Imo the build up was really good to me it was like they builded it up to the perfect point between going on to long and being just right on top of that they would kick everyones ass I think they really overlooked that the TNA roster put together a few teams to stop Aces and Eights and they would fail
honestly they were the reason I never missed a tna episode during that period
I wish Adam could make how TNA should've booked Aces & Eights.
Bully Ray's best heel work and let's not forget the bic lighter of doom!!
Yh the only thing that messed it up was the ending
90% of these comments: Hatting on Andrew (For whatever reason).
10% of these comments: Actually wrestling related stuff.
Hating on Andrew, for not having a British accent. They say they want character, they really just want a Brit
Very good, but 80% of the hate comments are just humour which plays along with the hierarchy of the WhatCulture presenters.
You have jokes bro may i ask where ur from
ur whine v wine joke was lit AF
WhatCulture has no "hierarchy" lol This is the internet
Yes you can ask me where I'm from.
The Brood had so much potential. Edge and Christian could've held the tag titles with Gangrel had either the European or IC title. They could've been huge, especially in The Ministry
Two years from now: The Wyatt Family...
Now we can really say "Yes" after half of them are out of the WWE
Unfortunately you were right
The problem with faction in WWE is the whole anti-USA thing. It seems they just make all non-USA wrestlers group together to be the axis of evil, over, and over, and over, and over, and over.... It got old 25 years ago... Somebody in that company still thinks "Oh, hey! These guys are foreign, lets use their nationality as a gimmick. nobody has ever sen that before."
Come back in a month when we add the Club, after being humiliated by Big Match John.
Here you go.
the club is a joke
for pg entertainment fans like you Erick
+Kazuma Sakai yeah maybe lol
Yeah, it is still all about Cena. The opposition are built up, face Cena, lose and then remain mid card. AJ knows this, he even said it last week.
Justin Gabriel was my favorite wrestler for years. So underrated!!
Same here, he was made to look like someone who was gonna be a main event star when he debuted with the nexus with them having Gabriel hit the splash at the end of whoever the stable had battered which had him come across as a killer. Shame they didn't continue to book him consistently after a while
The Brood.
Loved the Brood!
+Qwyatt Storm I did too
They had one of THE BEST WWE themes ever!
They were over for about a year - then they got brought in by The Ministry of Darkness and got kicked out of the faction after only a few months and Gangrel formed The New Brood with the Hardy Boyz who proceeded to dump Gangrel in favour of Michael "P.S." Hayes, and then David Heath (AKA Gangrel) was released early in 2000, then the Brood angle was immediately killed off when the Hardy Boyz dumped Hayes and took Terri Runnels on as their manager. All that in the space of two years. Yes, TWO YEARS. That's how long the faction was around for.
I love the brood, both versions with the hardyz and with edge and Christian
"I chopa-chopa yo PEEPEE!'
That stands out from my childhood viewings of the attitude era. lmao
Where's the WCPW video?
THey need to edit it
ikr i can't wait
+Devin “VinSavage” DuBose beggars can't be choosers bitch this ain't CHIPOTLE
walking living legend man i feel like kobe
+Devin “VinSavage” DuBose Haha Great one
"Believe it or not tna had a cool stable" they had several actually. Main event mafia was great and so was the feud they started with until they pushed the dudleys, and rhino instead of the young guys that started the feud. World elite started out strong and could've been big but hogan and Bischoff dissolved it on Jan 4 2010 because reasons. And fourtunebas seen above.
Fourtune as seen above... Damn typos lol
What about LAX
or Ink, Ink.
Beer money? I thought they were good, but that's when I was 9
+vegasboy jenkins lol
Wow I Completely forgot about the Corre
More like, they WERE shit. They lost to The Apple, which was Santino, Kozolv, Carlito (as a face), and Chris Masters, before all but Santino were released!
Lucky
@@TherealRNOwwfpooh it's Santino Marella, Daniel Bryan, Evan Bourne and Mark Henry.
Team Angle?
Andrew, you forgot about the Spirit Squad
They had potential hell I think they even beat Big show and Kane at one time
Casey McGuire actually they held the tag titles for over 200 days.
'Roman Reigns is the greatest and most popular wrestler of all time, his the main guy in WWE and should be respected',said nobody
True.
That's what Vince says every morning
So so so True
I said that.
EXACTLY!
When are u uploading WCPW?
2:23 is Sheamus holding rusevs hand? LOL
looks like but no it's from the point of view
Close enough. Lmao. Good Ketch.
😂
The invasion still hurts so much. I can't even watch mania x-7 because when stone cold turns heel it just makes me think about the impending invasion and I just start crying and it won't stop and then I cry more because I'm sobbing over a sixteen-year-old wrestling angle. I'm 32 years old. I have spent half of my life unsuccessfully getting over the invasion.
The Ruthless Roundtable from the dying days of WWE's version of ECW was a great faction that didn't get as much credit as I think they should have. William Regal mentoring Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Koslov into being the best monster heels they could be wasn't exactly revolutionary, but it did give everyone else on the roster a big threat to keep in the back of their minds. All three guys could work any spot on the card, which they did excellently. Too bad ECW was so darn small that most fans didn't care to check the Roundtable out; maybe it would've worked better in something like today's NXT?
I will argue even till this day that too cool is one of the most underrated tag teams of all time seriously dude
Moral of the story... John Cena doesn't put over talent
Shut up picking on jhon cena hes my boi
Oh my god, he's not English! Welcome Andrew.
/5 minutes later
Aw, but he sucks...
He's been on this channel for a couple months
I guess I didn't watch the videos he was in, this is the first time I've heard him.
One of my personal favourite stables has to be The Flood, from Chikara. Why? Because they basically consisted of every single heel, and in particular every single main villain the company had seen pretty much since its inception (or at least all the ones who hadn't face-turned at that time). The Odditorium, the Devastation Corporation, the BDK, the GEKIDO, Condor Security, the Swarm, the Colony Xtreme Force, the Wrecking Crew, and a scattering of other villains, who had been wiping out and forcibly shutting down smaller companies all over Philadelphia all year and were now going after Chikara, led by a hulking behemoth of a man called Deucalion, who was a badass. But what made them really threatening wasn't just that it was a huge army of 31 heels, but that they weren't afraid to KILL (in kayfabe anyway) to get their way. 6 wrestlers were 'killed' throughout their storyline, and a few of them have actually stayed dead as well! They tormented Chikara for about 2 years, and their effects are still being felt today. Badass!
I'm just happy to watch a video that doesn't end with "Did we miss any out?" I know it shouldn't, but that really does bug me.
We're mad at Dixie Carter for putting WWE guys over her own TNA guys... but we are mad at Vince for putting WWE guys over WCW guys...????????????????
😂😂😂😂
It made sense for WWE guys to beat the WCW guys, the problem is that the feud was poorly executed
It's not hypocrisy, Dixie Carter's idea was bad because the WWE/ECW guys were a temporary sign that she put over guys who'd been with the company for long term and the company was( or should've been ) invested in
Vince should've put over some of the WCW guys or at least have them beaten in a respectable manner because they were long term investments for the company.
I remember JR calling Kaientai "Club Kamikaze" XD
Not watched but im guessing straight edge society and nexus
Alliance at #1, but otherwise yeah.
+oODevil2NickOo did you know he was beat up for real by JBL at ECW one night stand?
In the same night, they got wrecked!!! SS '10 ....
I mean they were in the thumbnail
That Lucha Underground shirt at 0:42 though...
You're a brave man, Andrew. A very brave man indeed.
I liked the Oddities back when they had ICP rapping their entrance theme. The crowd was reacting good for them too.
Hurricane Helms wasn't that bad.
I liked him better as Gregory Helms
If Nexus had to lose at Summerslam, WWE should have at least done this to put someone new over: have Daniel Bryan and Cena vs. Barrett and Gabriel as the last two. Cena gets DDT'd on the concrete and eliminated (because, you know, yeah), then Bryan comes back, submitting Gabriel then squares off against Barrett, finally hitting a Running Knee to pin and win over his former leader. Then Bryan goes on to win the next couple feuds he's involved in, eventually winning the World Heavyweight Championship at TLC. Meanwhile, the Nexus continue to feud with Cena and beat him then move on to feud with Edge. Then, at WM 27, the four marquee matches are HHH vs. Undertaker (like in real life), Edge vs. Barrett (with Barrett going over), Cena vs. Miz for the WWE Championship (which ends as it did with the Rock setting up Once in a Lifetime), and in the main event, Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk (who had won the Royal Rumble) for the World Heavyweight Championship, and honestly it doesn't matter who wins because both guys would have been established as top level guys like they deserved.
SonofJones u have written an essay
WHAT!!???WHATCULTURE just contradicted itself!! They say Dixie was basically stupid for promoting another companys exes but called on Vince for going with his companys guys??
It's because Vince usually does stupid things in order to get money
Sammy Lane because he pushed already established main eventers like The Rock and Austin instead of building the new guys (who were by this point his own employees)
Steve and Dwayne Johnson came into the WWE as nobodies.
The Rock didn't come in as a nobody - he was pushed as the first third generation superstar in the company's history and became Intercontinental Champ in, like, five months or something like that. He was named Rocky Maivia in honour of his grandfather "High Chief" Peter Maivia.
Finally!! Some more videos that aren't WWE exclusive!!
I'd like to sit in on some of these creative meetings and see where they go wrong. I know that it's easy to judge after we've seen the results but how many times do you have to mess up before you learn?
I'm fine with Andrew if I don't have to see his face.
1:32 sounds like Super Kami Lord Guru
NAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLL
i dont know who this yamcha is but he sounds disapointing
+RetepAdam what is it Lord Guru
"I sense they have finally done it. Man, it would be a real dick move to die right now. GRRR-"
-Super Kami Lord Guru
"Oh hello, I'm super Kami Guru, the one who's NOT judging you on your physical appearance."
MINISTRY OF DARKNESS
More of this guy PLEASE
Hi Andrew, I thought this list actually hit the nail on the head perfectly. You know when you swing a hammer and it hits the nail just right and it goes all the way in with one shot? Like that. Normally I find something wrong or I disagree with certain aspects of a list. But, you guys are improving greatly, and on that premise I am going to subscribe. Keep the good lists coming, Good Day Sir,PSH
um CM Punk never held the WWE championship before the S.E.S
he forgot one RIGHT TO CENSOR
anyone remember the rock and sox connection ?
Michael A Gallegos not a stable tho but great tag team
Serotonin from TNA had potential. Another possible Raven's Flock situation got flushed down the drain and the payoff to the whole thing was in an untelevised match for the internet. Great work again, Dixie.
I don't know if putting the SES as the image for "Most WASTED stables" was intentional or not, but still brilliant! BTW, I vote for Sabu & RVD, and the Wolfpac.
Hurricane Helms was fucking awesome.
Agreed
Main Event Mafia
sadly hardcore, managers, factions, specialized matches, are pretty much dead.
A Lonely Christian Male your right which makes wrestling boring to watch
That Justin Robert's pic lol bruh always gets me in tears lol
Mine name is Andrew, so this is therefore the best person on WhatCulture Wrestling.
stand back theres a hurricane coning though!!
David Ryan
The Ministry of Darkness, because Vince had to get involved
Wdym they were amazing
@@calum2324 They were amazing, when they were a bunch of devil worshiping psychopaths.
Then they joined the corporation *pfft* then Vince Mcmahon was revealed the higher power, so it was retconned that the Untertaker was Vince's bitch the whole time
FULLER HOUSE IS A DOPE SHOW
4:56 The original faction of every member holding a title, Benoit as Intercontinental Champion, Eddie as European Champion, Malenko as Light Heavyweight Champion, and Saturn as Hardcore Champion (for just a few seconds)
There will be a prediction vid for MITB? with the cardboard on the line?
the league of nations could of been huge if they were pushed right battle for all titles could of been solid for at least a year and have a rivalry with just usa superstars!
+Okada fan 904 Barrett renaming it as the Colony belt.
Yeah, but let's be serious, Vince didn't form the team to push any of the talent. He formed it to put over Roman Reigns. Which didn't work.
Super
Hero
In
Training
Lol 😁
Can we stop insulting wcw seriously wcw was awesome dispite what everyone says
Despite what some people say otherwise you basically prop open the door for "well if everyone" says something chances are it's just true.
I agree 100% with this list! Great job on this one
The members of The Radicalz bring back such sweet memories of late 90's WCW wrestling for me. Oh the nostalgia! :D I hate the way WWE seems to have treated WCW wrestlers. WCW was how I got into watching pro-wrestling and had they become a big part of the WWE, I might still be watching wrestling.
You forgot one very important faction!
...Follow the buzzards.
They haven't disbanded yet. Plus, Wyatt is supposed to be getting the push he deserves when he comes back.
That's a good joke.
It won't make Roman look strong!
+L Turner exactly. BURY THE FUCKING SHIT OUT OF THEM, DAMMIT.
Forgot Right To Censor. The FCC gimmick was terrible, their entrance theme was fucking cancer (Those alarm noises still haunt me to this day), the fact that Stevie Richards was the leader, and worst of all...having The Godfather join them and becoming The Goodfather!
No hoes :(
For me attitude era end the day that stable came to be. Just an awful idea, and yes I know that it was parody. And yes that music was god awful, even worst hearing it live in person.
Hey. The moment the white shirt and black tie went on his name became Steven, and don't you forget it. XD
That's Why The American Badass Himself Couldn't Take Them Seriously
When RTC started WWF had managed to get away with some stuff probably due to political friends, while both ECW and WCW were in deep trouble with the FCC. Mostly because of backyarders setting fire to each other mirroring Vampiro and because ECW was well ECW.
It was a 'Ha you're in the shot but we are and we can take the piss'
It's katanaaa not samurai sword hhahahaa but it's okay dude
do....do you know what kind of sword samurais carried around?
Do you?
Do you?
it's about honor!!!!
+XxUPGMATAHASHIxX they are called katanas
I loved this video, great list
Taka was awesome, where is he now? Please can someone tell me
Nexus was been a great faction not an waste at all !!!!!
great is not the same as "wasted"
The nexus was wasted, losing at summerslam killed their momentum, and having John cena beat up the members week after week made them look weak
Andrew legitimately makes me not want to watch this video.
Is Andrew the new Kenny?
Yes, screw the American, right?
You watch your mouth Kenny is a fucking legend... I miss him.
Dude, get over it...
SkaterCTV It's a joke you get over it
Y2AJ
the shield
Nice video. But I don't think The Alliance was that bad. I was a young boy when I first started watching WWE, and it was in the middle of this storyline. I'll always remember it being one of the most memorable ones ever. I thought it was perfect timing for me.
People always say Booker liked the King Booker thing, he didn't, he hated it. You can find interviews about it when he left and joined TNA
3mb 😂😂😂😂
cm punk was overrated Booker t underrated.
Anyone remember spirit squad?😂
Disciples of Apocalypse was a wasted stable 100%: first, "All Big-Man," stable, probably ever, with Brian Adams as leader? Definitely had promise.
DDP being motivational speaker was not just a gimmick. He was motivational speaker in real life, too. Even back when he was in WCW, he was already doing it.
Totally missed on the Dangerous Alliance. Paul E, Medusa, Rick Rude, Steve Austin, Arn Anderson, Larry Zbysko, and Bobby Eaton. . . That should have been gold!!
The problem with this guy is that he sticks out like a sore thumb _and_ doesnt really make humorous videos. He doesnt have the charm or smarkiness the others have.
Sometimes, thumbs just need to spread their wings and soar!
He's better.
Problem with the Alliance vs WWF fued/storyline was that the amount of fueds were changed on the fly. I mean we had - Rock vs Booker T which Rock completely buried Booker in that fued, Taker had the fued/storyline with DDP which went nowhere especially the fact that they finished it at Summerslam and they had the tacky Austin vs Angle fued which never made any sense because we saw Angle join the WCW/ECW alliance a few months later.
I do remember reading the original plans that it was supposed to have been The Rock vs DDP, Undertaker vs Booker T for the WCW title and Austin vs Jericho for the WWF title but of course, Vince wanted to spoil it as much as possible and gave DDP the "stalker" gimmick, Booker T being buried by The Rock on Smackdown - "Who in the blue hell are you!?" and Jericho was relegated to fueding with Stephanie McMahon's goons.
7:02 Nexus died for me when they got rid of Tarver, that one month before then (without Ryback and Darren) was the best Nexus to me, especially the entrance with Barrett standing in the middle of the ring as Otunga, Tarver, Slater, and Gabriel each stood on a turnbuckle in each corner
I would love to see Nexus once again but now it's impossible. I was a huge fan of that stable, I even have a Nexus tatoo on my back.
Let's drink every time Vince McMahon is called a moron in the video.
Great vid.
I was mightily annoyed with the handling of the radicalz. A mistake of EPIC proportions.
Forget the WCPW show being uploaded, where is On This Day In Wrestling for June 16th?
now you can add RETRIBUTION....
I like this announcer a lot! Keep it up !
I agree with th for the most part, list but you got one thing wrong about the Radicals. They weren't booked to lose three straight matches on Smackdown. Eddie Guerrero and Perry Saturn were supposed to beat the New Age Outlaws. But Eddie dislocated his elbow, landing wrong on the frog splash. He was pinned to end the match early.
