It's incredible how Undertaker's sit-up could elicit such a massive response. Just shows how popular he's always been and how much the character was over. It's hard to even describe to a non-wrestling fan why it always got such a pop.
Honestly, undertaker is THE legend of wrestling. When everyone else had to move to realistic characters, the rock, stone cold, etc, he kept his golden age character and always, ALWAYS made it work. It should have been corny, it should have felt lame, but it ALWAYS WORKED. You always believed in the fear of his opponent when the lights went down and the gong rang.
Honestly, even as a non-wrestling fan I completely get the hype. It breaks the rule or the expectation. After they get hit with the "ultimate" move, that's it. It's done. But this man just gets up. It's not supposed to happen, and he's the only one who does it. It projects a unique, unmatchable power. Hell, I got hyped just seeing it happen in this video.
@@DGEPB He would have had such a legendary career. I don't doubt for a minute that he would have helped Dominick. Damn shame he died so early. ¡VIVA LA RAZA!

@@nehemiahpouncey3607 they stayed doing edge dirty on the 2k games. idk if they just couldn't get him scanned before or what the problem was but everything from 2k14-2k19 looked ridiculous. As memorable as Hogan's "Hulking up" was, it was always the reaction from the opponents, after he points to them that made it that much more iconic and entertaining.
I love Randy Orton going nuts before the DDT; It's always so much fun to watch. I also love when he's heel and he just looks around, making the opponent wait for the impact; one of those "little things" he often talks about.
my favourite is Jeff Hardy's pistol gestures he did with his fans and flipping his hair back. As if him climbing up the framework of the jumbotron wasn't enough to signify a swanton bomb, him hip thrusting and flipping his hair essentially locked it in in my eyes
Angel Garza’s pants is probably the best modern one we have. Some of my other personal favorites include Rey Mysterio setting up the 619 by sending someone into the ropes, Bray Wyatt’s corner bend back, CM Punk’s sleep taunt before he does the GTS, Bubba Ray Dudley pushing D-Von and yelling “GET THE TABLES,” as well as his trance after he puts someone through a table, Randy Orton slamming the ground before the RKO, John Cena raising his hand and doing his patented “You Can’t See Me” before the Five Knuckle Shuffle (or pretty much the entire “Five Moves of Doom” sequence, Roman Reigns doing the “locked and loaded” setup for the Superman Punch, and his “OOOOOAAAAHHHH” before he hits a spear.
The Undertaker sitting up has been one of my favorite things of all time watching wrestling as a kid, I quit watching I think around 2006 but man it used to be amazing!
Whenever Kurt Angle pulled off the straps, the match was wraps. That Angle Lock was locked in and that was all she wrote. Same when Taker sat up: it's over.
DDP's diamond! Though it usually meant that his opponent was suddenly going to turn things around, only for DDP to hit the cutter out of nowhere a few minutes later. It made my arms hurt holding that diamond up for so long, but they usually came down with a BANG!
Dope to hear Booker shout out the breakers with the spinaroonie. It was one of my favorite moves back in the day and so happy that he got it from the scene
Warrior jogging before big splash, Edge pulling hair before Spear, Goldberg throat cut taunt before Jackhammer, Scotty too Hotty worm walk before The Worm, RVD climbing on top rope with one jump (looking at the crowd) before hitting Five Star Frog Splash.
Honorable mention should have went to John Cena's pumping up his shoes during a match. That actually was a unique thing about doctor of thuganomics that sadly died with the gimmick.
I just love taunts, whether it's Razor Ramon throwing his toothpick into someone's face, Undertaker sitting up, Randy Ortons canvas punches or Sheamus's chest beats... they are fucking cool
I'd add Eddie giving that smile looking at crowd whenever referee is down and crowd popping up as they know it's time to lie cheat and steal Also nice job adding gong in undertaker part
Two other moves by The Undertaker that he used to do during his prime years, snapping his head from a kneeling position to standing strait up, flipping his hair back, and the Cut Throat move, if he does either you can be certain his opponent is doomed!!!
I kinda remember the Rock Bottom being a lot slower than it ended up being. He would grab the opponent into the position, and the opponent would kinda be hanging there powerless for a few seconds until the Rock finished the move. I distinctly remember it with Road Dogg for some reason.
Hulk Hogan was my favourite as Kid, until I witnessed the Undertaker for the first time. I was brought up on Heavy Metal music like Iron Maiden, so the character resonated with me greatly. The "Sit Up" was the best.
The Rock kicking The Undertaker back down is so hilarious! It's like he's saying, "If you don't lay your big ass back down and let me finish my signature move... You can Tombstone me after. Damn!"
Its funny how many of the older wrestlers had a no sell "power up" gimmick to hype the crowd. Warrior, hogan, even the undertaker situp could count as he would basically take some ungodly punishment or a finisher, then just nope as he sits up and choke slams you.
The "People's Elbow" always cracked me up laughing everytime, something so ridiculous but yet so serious however, the Undertaker sit-up, when that happened you know someone is about to get a Tombstone.
2:40 my dad really ruined me this thing (in a good way) since he saw us how hyped we used to get when it happened. so he trolled us everytime when a taco bell ad shows on tv and he just rise up like that from the couch.
One honorable mention for me is Stone Cold's Lou Thez Press. To knock his opponent on their back with the Thez Press then start punching the hell out of the guy, it was then that you knew Austin was going to be giving another ass-whooping.
I loved Rene Dupree's little dance/taunt. It got so over that creative actually told him to stop doing it. And there was something truly catchy about it.
4:00 Shawn Michaels' kip up is so legendary, and he's the only one I've seen who is strong enough to do it without using his hands or another wrestler or external support. That takes an unimaginable amount of core and leg strength.
I never thought much of Takers sit up but sold properly, it's pretty cool. It would have been even better if they did the bell thing like in this video, and probably something with the lighting as well to give it extra kick.
Great Compilation Video. No doubt Undertaker Situp and HBK Shawn Micheals jump up move are awesome but the most electrifying and legendary move is The People's Elbow. I also like Randy Orton's RKO and Dean Ambrose move when moves back in middle of ropes, recoils back and give full inside out move to opponent.
The Hulking Up and Undertaking sitting up are best hype moves all time! With due respect to Batista though, I had always identified the shaking the ropes as a signature of the Ultimate Warrior.
The thing about the People's Elbow is someone in the crowd got his elbow brace. Like, the time I went to an event, I got to high five Edge or Christian (I don't know in the chaos). It gets the crowd involved.

Tell me about it. I can only imagine Undertaker trying to lift Sting up for a choke slam but he just No Sells by getting out of his grip.

Kane also did the sit up. He just did it more rarely.
Yeah because with the relationship between the two it made sense, depending on how the gimmick was being played at the time.
The Rock always made the Stunner look like the deadliest move on earth when I was growing up 😅
