I cast Frostbite twice when I enter a new area. This puts me at 100%. After that, I go back to 100% every time I activate Barrier Invocation because of the high cost on Comet. The google sheet I made can help you figure out why that doesn't happen in your case.
Here's the google sheet: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wZlcMtBwrH4OpFXlNBxHDhfT5u4sUjEec9wW3f6mjnQ/edit?gid=0#gid=0 Maxroll guide: maxroll.gg/poe2/planner/bv5cb0vm
Very well explained of a pretty complicated build (at least for poe noob like me), will have to check it out. Btw. did you see the "CWDT Barrier Invocation Comet" version? Seems to take this to the next level. Tried to wrap my head around his spreadsheet, but I've not been able to understand it completely🙈
Yep I've seen it. Next level for sure! I was thinking flask recovery was the way to really be able to spam, so it's good to get some assurance that I'm on the right track haha. I took a brief look at his spreadsheet and it seems more exhaustive than mine, but the core idea is the same: take all values relevant to the loop and set one of them as the output and the rest as inputs. By filling in the input values using your character, you can get the output value you should make your character have. The main difference is that I use max fire resist as output and he uses energy gain.
@@Deranged_Engineering Maybe I am blind, but I cannot see the energy gain output? Though from what I can understand, that I need to make it work with either 1-3 SD, so perhaps I can make it work. Your sheet is a lot more digestible, but I guess there is another aspect of the math (part 4?) that I need to understand :D
@@magnusdauv132 He has a table somewhere that says something along the lines of "energy gain needed from jewels" which is split into 3: 1 cast per SD, 2 casts per SD and 3 casts per SD. That's the output. I tried to keep my sheet more concise because I made it specifically to help people for whom the numbers aren't their strongest suit. I figured more numbers would only overwhelm them, so it's great to hear that it's more digestible as a result! There's definitely more math you could do, but for getting the build up and running, this is all you need.
Yes, your weapon slots are disabled in Demon Form which is exactly why this build doesn't use Demon Form. There is an excellent version of this build that does use Demon Form and forgoes passive recovery from regen to instead go all out on flask recovery. Here's a link if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/vCnW8OSUMMA/видео.html I somewhat dislike fully relying on conditional recovery, which is why I decided on this approach. I might still go the Demon Form route in the future if I run into issues on this version.
If you have all of the nodes with energy gain on the tree allocated, you'll have 55%. If you don't, you'll have to add them up manually. Energy gain from jewels has to be manually added up as well. Windows calculator is your greatest friend when playing Poe ;) Could you explain the energy shield problem in more detail? I'm afraid I don't fully understand what you mean.
im not finding the way to increase my comet cost its the max lv i can use, or lower my max mana (removed all the mana from gear already) Mine only costs 198 but i have 668 infernal
You can use +# to level of all spell skills or +# to level of all cold spell skills on your wand to increase the cost further. I am now realising that I never mentioned this anywhere, so I'll be sure to update the Maxroll guide with this info. Thanks for the heads up and hope this helps!
You're talking about a loop- I've noticed in demon form you are holding down the barrier.. with this you never really hold it down yes? just a click here or there and a little bit of a hold for rare/bosses? Just noticing a difference in "loop" Does this build loop without you pressing it.. ie you start the barrier invocation loop and then it just does it over and over without you pressing it.. just hold down and you recoupe/regen.
The loop I am referring to is simply Barrier Invocation feeding itself with energy whenever it is used (i.e. it leaves itself in the state that it started in after finishing, hence loop). That is the interaction that this build is centered around. Unfortunately, it does not go off automatically, I still have to click/hold the associated keybind to cause it to activate. The reason I don't hold down the button all the time is because I lack the recovery to do so. It has gotten a lot better since this video was uploaded but I still can't fully sustain it quite yet. I am close though. Hope that clears things up!
Why woukd fire resistance being too high make you take damage. Looking at this build as a newbie makes me feel stupid for bot understanding any of it. Can someone explain to me how it works like im michel scott?
The Maxroll guide goes into more detail, but here's the short version: Barrier Invocation allows you to trigger linked spells when you activate it, effectively bypassing their cast time. To do this, Barrier Invocation spends a resource called Energy. Barrier Invocation gains Energy whenever you take damage to your Energy Shield, up to a maximum. The idea of this build is to take enough damage whenever we activate Barrier Invocation, so that we immediately refill that Energy resource back to its maximum. We do this with the Pyromantic Pact Ascendancy notable on the Infernalist. This notable replaces our mana with Infernal Flame which fills up when casting skills. When our Infernal Flame becomes full, it empties immediately and deals us our maximum life and Energy Shield in fire damage. This is why our fire resistance is so important. If it is too high, we won't take enough damage from Pyromantic Pact to fill Barrier Invocation's Energy up to full in one hit. I hope that explains it. If not, let me know where you're not following anymore. I'd be happy to go into more detail.
Thanks! My jewels are bad atm. Still need better ones, but I'm broke after six-linking Barrier Invocation. As for what you want on them, these until you have enough (check the google sheet for energy gain and ES, make sure your recoup is a bit higher than the damage bypass on Atziri's Disdain): - Meta skills gain #% increased energy - #% of damage taken recouped as life - #% increased maximum energy shield And then these for damage: - #% increased critical strike chance/critical strike damage (for spells) - #% increased spell/cold/triggered spell damage You could also opt for +# to maximum fire resistance if you feel like it. Mana on gear increases your Infernal Flame. On lower levels of Comet, this breaks the loop. On higher levels of Comet, it becomes almost necessary to make the loop sustainable. You can look at the middle table of the google sheet to see how much Infernal Flame you need.
Hey, If we take zealoth node for gettin rid of ES recovery delay and take chaos innoc for gettin rid of life management. I mean just for necessity of ES management. After all of that, we take all of the ES recovery rate nodes which capped at 360% and also Max Energy shiled nodes. With these tweaks, I just wonder are our pyromantic pact ES cost bigger or lower than our ES recovery?
I just replied to this exact comment on my other video. Just leaving a copy of the reply here for anyone wondering about the answer: Hey! I'm afraid I'm not following what you're saying entirely. - Zealot's Oath mechanically works a lot worse than Ligurium Talisman (I explain this at 4:22). It also has nothing to do with ES recharge delay, other than disabling recharge in its entirety. - Chaos Inoculation would require the removal of Atziri's Disdain, which is providing roughly one third of the ES of this build (you could technically replace it with a very good ES helmet, but I'm poor). CI also has counter-synergy with half of the ascendancy nodes we're using (max life = 1 means no extra spirit and ES from Beidat's Will/Hand). - There are only two ES recovery rate nodes on the entire tree (which I admittedly have not taken, so thanks for the idea haha), so you're probably conflating recovery and recharge, the latter of which this build doesn't use. All that said, I'll attempt to answer your question anyway. It is extremely difficult to recover more ES per second than pyromantic pact damages us for. Hypothetically, you could probably do it, but it'd be prohibitively expensive to buy the items necessary. This is why I don't hold down the button for Barrier Invocation, but rather use it about once or twice per second. If I've misunderstood anything you've said above, please clarify. Ideas on how to improve the build are always welcome!
@Deranged_Engineering As you already realized, I'm new player :). I just thought with zealoth and CI, we don't need to handle the life and ES but I didn't read well the descriptions. Zealoth doesn't delete the delay of ES recharge, it delete the recharge itself and it regen ES equal to the excess amount of life which I thought "if my life is 1 then every regen gonna become excess" but this not worth cuz if my life is 1 then the % increased regen rate will gonna calculate on 1.
