Some things I forgot to mention: For the boss fight, there's a move that the "expedition shaped thing" that circles the room has that shoots out a larger ice beam through the center of the arena that can deal a LOT of damage. I don't think I came across it in my runs, but someone in the comments mentioned it. The boss calls out "Starfire" and it shoots the beam straight across the middle of the room. Get to either side of it to avoid it. Sorry I missed that one! The Pinnacle Boss has the potential to drop a couple really valuable uniques: - Heroic Tragedy Timeless Jewel (currently worth 15-20 div) - Olroth's Resolve Ultimate Life Flask (currently worth 35-40 div) If either of those drop you basically hit the jackpot :) Also, in case it wasn't clear in the video, you get the skill points by defeating the boss in increasing difficulties. The first two come from the first kill, spending those two points increases the difficulty, and then your next kill will get you two more. Spend those points, find him again, etc.
When you have boss level +4 from all 8 points he can also drop level 20 uncut gems. Which are around 1.5 divine each and the spirit ones are 5 divine each. Have not seen a Spirit one drop, which probably explains the cost.
Something that I didn't understand... Do these modifiers you blow up affect the rest of the map or just the expedition monsters? Should I be looking for the expedition at the beginning?

This is probably the best Expedition guide I've watched. Slow talking to understand but to the point and well explained The remnants with "rarity of items" increase the chance for logbooks of should I go for quantity of items? I've done a few Expedition and I only found one while doing tier 8 maps, and got a logbook level 70. That's all I got Also, do you have this kind of video but for Breach and Delirium? I'm a bit confused on how or when those mechanics close or dissapear
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! As for the remnants, I believe both help, just in a slightly different way. I can't say for certain which is better, but if you see one that specifically mentions logbooks, like "quantity of logbooks" get that for sure. I do have one for Breach, it's linked in the description :) Delirium I'm still working on a full guide, but I did post one quick video for Delirium that you may still find useful: ruclips.net/video/Im81o0RinDo/видео.html NOTE: I did misspeak at one point in the Delirium video, and I corrected it in the pinned comment, but I'll mention it here too because it's somewhat related to your question. I said that you get the splinters and emotions when you complete the map, but I meant when the event completes. It doesn't require completing the map. As for your specific questions, Breach starts when you run through/touch the "hand" in the maps, and Delirium starts when you walk through the broken mirror in the map. Breach ends after a short amount of time, which can be extended slightly by killing monsters inside the Breach. The more you kill the longer it will stay open, but you can't keep it open forever, it will slow down and close either way after like 1 minute. Delirium on the other hand ends when you either are out of the fog for more than 4 seconds (a timer will appear in the top center of your screen if you step out of the fog), or if you manually stop it by clicking the stop button on the bottom right hand side of the screen. The Delirium fog starts at the mirror and after a short amount of time it will start to move outward. That said, I believe there is a bug with Delirium that can cause the fog to never move sometimes, and therefor will not end on it's own, and you then have to manually stop it by clicking the button.
Does anyone know do you have to explode the area where the boss icon is to access it or do you just walk into it? I’ve done 10 logbooks and never had the boss icon so I’m clueless!!!
Nice guide bro i like it a lot! Are there any modifiers on logbooks u are aiming for or how do u decide witch of the two options u take? Does "area contains an additional underground area" increase the chance to get a boss or just the room witch chests?
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I usually go for increased Runic Monsters or Excavated Chests, or Increased Explosives/Range if that's not an option. You can't get logbooks from the expedition itself, so extra Runic Monsters just gives you a better chance at other loot, and chests give you more artifacts. From what I've seen the additional underground area doesn't seem to have any effect on the boss. I've got it a couple times and just had a normal room underground area, not the boss fight.
You're welcome! And agreed, I think Breach is my favorite now, but when I first got to Endgame Expedition was my favorite because it felt different from the others, was rewarding, and allows you to kinda choose how challenging you want it to be with the Remnants.
Can you please tell me what build this is? I want to use a simple build with few abilities. Most of the builds I've seen are super clunky and tedious. This one looks awesome but I can't figure out what it is. I've seen it in a bunch of different videos but it's never a build guide video. Thanks
I don't have a build guide or link for my exact build, but what I'm doing was mostly inspired by these two builds: maxroll.gg/poe2/build-guides/ice-strike-invoker-build-guide and mobalytics.gg/poe-2/profile/4f673d63-ff52-4fde-92fa-9a06979ff8a0/builds/ea9bbe9b-5320-45d0-b957-9efeafcf76ab My skill gems are closer to the 2nd, but I'm not using Blink - I'm using Ghost Dance like in the 1st instead, and my skill tree is closer to the 1st too. I used those as rough ideas/guides to get started and then kinda played around from there with what felt right with my gear and playstyle. This uses a lot of spirit gems, with the only active abilities you have to press being Charged Staff once every 30-45 seconds, and then Ice Strike for clear. And for bosses/rares you drop down a Bell and otherwise it's the same. The main thing that was an issue for me to get/keep it going was mana. To solve that I got a ring with high mana recovery and also use Inspiration on Ice Strike to reduce its mana cost. The only real gear requirement is a body armor with at least 1060 evasion and 386 energy shield (as mentioned in the first link) as this is what gets you to the 235 Spirit (Through Invoker's "Lead Me Through Grace" skill) needed for all of those Spirit Gem Buffs.
He has 2 really valuable potential drops - Heroic Tragedy Timeless Jewel (worth roughly 20 div currently) and Olroth's Resolve Ultimate Life Flask (worth 35-40 div currently)
Great content, man! I would be curious about one thing in your videos--you mention which atlas points you recommend and in what order and that's great. Would love to hear your thoughts on the others tho. Did you try them and find them underwhelming for certain reasons? Were they just not appealing to you and you never bothered? Something else?
Good point/question! For this one in particular I didn't personally try them, but rather found them underwhelming/unappealing. In general I try to go for whatever increases the farm speed for the boss item (splinters, or logbooks in this case) because that's going to get you the other points faster, and then even when you're done with all 8 points the boss is generally going to be the most profitable thing you can do. In this case, that's the first 4 points to get Detailed Records. After that it's really up to personal preference, but like I said the others weren't very appealing. Frail Treasures gives you 3 extra chest markers at the cost of your chests despawning after 5 seconds, so you would need to be rushing to open your chests every time the explosion goes off, which would be kinda annoying and dangerous. Extreme Archaeology gives you 150% increased explsive radius but you are limited to one single explosion, which in many cases would force you to take a really bad remnant or place your explosive in a way that you would end up getting far less out of it. Weight of History and Unearthed Anomalies both increase the potency of Remnants, which is sorta a blessing and a curse because it increases the downside as well as the upside. They would be worth considering though if the other points (the ones I chose) weren't so good with no downsides.
I don't have one of my exact build, but what I'm doing is somewhere between this: maxroll.gg/poe2/build-guides/ice-strike-invoker-build-guide and mobalytics.gg/poe-2/profile/4f673d63-ff52-4fde-92fa-9a06979ff8a0/builds/ea9bbe9b-5320-45d0-b957-9efeafcf76ab My skill gems are closer to the 2nd, but I'm not using Blink, I'm using Ghost Dance like in the 1st, and my skill tree is closer to the 1st. I used those as rough ideas/guides to get started and then kinda played around from there with what felt right with my gear and playstyle. I'm not a professional though, so both of those are probably technically better builds than mine
So you sayd that the second fight with the boss was from a 78 logbook and goes to 79 from the atlas BUT you need higher difficulty to get the next points right? If you in with 78 and +1 is 79 you basically kill him at difficulty 0 right? Or next difficulty you can go 77 and get +2 from the tree and fight him at 79. So how is it?
I believe with this boss specifically you only need the difficulty increases from the Skill Tree and the area level to be 79 or higher. When I tried with a 77 logbook and +2 in skill tree I only ended up with an Area Level 78, so I don't think it necessarily translates to +1 difficulty = +1 Area Level. I believe my 3rd kill was a 78 logbook with +2 difficulty, which ended up being an area level 79 logbook. So I'm not 100% sure what the calculation/relation to area level is with difficulty, but it does have some influence.
@@rotony1 that's the only thing that I know for sure and have seen it level that up to 79 to multiple times. It's possible there's more to it, and maybe with +3 or +4 it can go farther, but yes the only thing I'm completely sure of is that 78 books work after the first fight and skill point spent.
@@Ceecee384 I'm like 95% sure you do, they function similar to other maps, you get 6 portals to the Expedition map, but those are intended for trips back and forth for loot or if you get disconnected or logout. Dying I believe would remove them, and thus your access to it. I actually haven't died within one yet though, so I can't say with 100% certainty, but I'm pretty sure. Maybe someone else can confirm.
Bonus tip: To avoid being surprised (i.e. one-shot) after an Expedition, pay attention to the Expedition NPC. They will ALWAYS have a voiceline trigger when no monsters are left, and it will show up in the chatbox as well.
By killing the boss in increasing difficulties. First time you kill him you get your first two points. Then as long as you spend those two points in the Expedition Tree, the next time you find him it will increase his difficulty by 1 and you'll get 2 more points for killing him. Repeat that 2 more times for the last 4 points. The other points are similarly awarded. There's a pinnacle boss for most of them, defeating them the first time gets you 2 points, then you spend the skill points on their respective tree and next time you kill them get the next two points. Rinse, repeat. The Boss Tree works a little differently, there's a video for that one in the description.
There's a logbook modifier that increases explosive range. And then there's also a passive tree node that increases the size by like 150% but that one limits you to a single explosive, so I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise I don't think you can increase the size
That's the #1 thing that keeps coming up in the comments, the flags, seems like GGG needs to better explain that in gama haha, but thank you, glad it helped!
@@maycoalvarenga1911 The sad/funny thing is that PoE2 is WAY more new player friendly/approachable than PoE1 was, especially when it comes to skill gems and the videos they have for each one. My guess is that it's just a side effect of them working on EndGame only recently and it not being as polished as the early game and campaign. Hopefully by full launch they will be better explained in game, but only time will tell.
Delirium will likely come next, and then Ritual. If I happen to get lucky on the item for the Ritual boss then that may change, but right now I'm thinking it will be Delirium first.
I believe it's supposed to be about a 20% chance. Personally, I think I've been through almost 20 logbooks and found him 3 times so far. The first one took me 7 or 8, then I found 2 more within like 5, and I've went through a few since without finding any.
Do you mean to get access to the Atlas and endgame systems? After you complete Acts 1-3 the 2nd time (on Cruel difficulty) you should have a quest that takes you there.
Do you just mean the individual skill trees? Generally speaking you get 2 points for completing each individual systems pinnacle boss, and then 2 more for doing it at each higher difficulty level, and that difficulty level increase coming from spending the points in that tree. So you kill them, get 2 points, spend the points to increase the difficulty, kill them again, get 2 more points, spend those two points, etc
Do the logbook need to be increased in level after you've killed the boss for him to spawn again? I've killed him twice, do the area level need to be 81 for me to get the next set of points?
No, the Logbook Area Level (once you open it) just needs to be 79+ each time. My 2nd and 3rd kills were level 78 logbooks that turned to level 79 area level when I entered them from the +1 difficulty nodes on the passive tree. So it seems you just need to be sure you spend the points in the passive tree to get the +1 difficulty, and that when you enter the logbook expedition map it's 79 or higher.
Man, that's rough... the boss is supposedly around a 20% chance per logbook so it's possible you just got unlucky. My first one came after like 7 logbooks and then I found 2 more within the next 5.
Each of the Pinnacle Bosses are different, and most I wouldn't say are necessarily a DPS check (except maybe the Ritual one), but rather a survivability check. This one, for Expedition, is by far the easiest of all of the ones I've tried. If you're doing 82 boss maps I don't think you'd have a problem, just review the Boss fight in the video to know what to look out for and you should be good. Also in the pinned comment I point out one move that I missed in my video that can deal a lot of damage - if the boss says "Starfire" then a big ice beam is going to shoot out through the center of the room and leave behind chilled ground. Just move to the side to avoid that. Otherwise it's a pretty easy fight.
@BluPhoenix thanks for reply :) I defeated tier 1 and spent my first two points then opened 2nd logbook (lvl 79) but there was not boss icon on map. Is there a spesific logbook for boss fight?
really good video, this is a general question, i will really appreciate is some one help me out to understand, how u get points for the difference type of events, i have been doing all kind of different activities, and the only points I got so far where from killing bosses, nothing from ritual, breach or expedition
For Expedition you get your first two points by defeating Olroth in a Logbook Expedition. You get your next two points by defeating him again in a logbook while having increased difficulty (which you get by spending your first two skill points). Then you put those two points in the tree and kill him again for the next two, and one more time for the last two. Breach is explained in my Breach video but the short answer is that you farm up 300 Breach Splinters, turn them into a BreachStone, and then use that to open a portal to a Special Breach that has a boss fight at the end. Defeating the boss gives you your first two points. Then you have to do that 3 more times, each while having the points from the previous kill invested into the tree to increase difficulty. For Ritual, you have to find a special item called "Audience with the King" in Ritual Tributes that lets you open a portal to the boss fight, defeat him, and then again repeat it 3 more times each while having the previous points invested in the tree.
I am Japanese and my English is not very good, but let me ask a question. If I want to increase the drop rate of logbooks, what should I blow up first?
If you see remnants that specifically mention logbooks, such as "Increased Quantity of Expedition Logbooks Dropped By Runic Monsters" or "Increased Quantity of Logbooks in Excavated Chests" go for those, followed by whichever source they mention (either Runic Monsters or Excavated Chests). If neither of those remnants are available, going for "Increased Quantity of Items" from Runic Monsters or Excavated Chests is probably the next best bet, again followed by whichever one they mention. Otherwise, both Runic Monsters and Excavated Chests have a chance to drop them, so I'd just go for hitting as many of those as you can and hopefully you get lucky. Goodluck!
Don't feel too bad, that seems to be a common theme in the comments, lots of people have been overlooking/not understanding what the different markers meant
thx man I did log expedition but had no idea about any of this. This info will be invaluable since I am now playing ssf and this looks like a very good way to farm gear to upgrade my char

Very nice and detailed video. Thx man, and i would love to see delirium etc too.
The plan is to work on Delirium next! I got some farming to do for that one, those splinters taking forever haha
Does anyone know do you have to explode the area where the boss icon is to access it or do you just walk into it? I’ve done 10 logbooks and never had the boss icon so I’m clueless!!!
You have to place an explosive on it
@@BluPhoenixthank you
Very useful, i didn't knew most of that
The little flags denoting chests also have an icon in them telling you what kind of items are in that chest
This is very helpful. Thanks!
@languageguy5539 you're welcome, glad it helped!
Had zero clue about the runic monster flags.. I’m level 91. Thank you!
Glad I could help!
I accidentally fought that boss yesterday and didn’t realise he was the pinnacle boss 😂
I have 4 points in the atlas. Must mean I accidentally fought it too, twice?
Great video bud❤
thank you for the info, love the expedition its fun and rewarding
You're welcome! And agreed, I think Breach is my favorite now, but when I first got to Endgame Expedition was my favorite because it felt different from the others, was rewarding, and allows you to kinda choose how challenging you want it to be with the Remnants.
How rare would you say the log books are?
Can you please tell me what build this is? I want to use a simple build with few abilities. Most of the builds I've seen are super clunky and tedious. This one looks awesome but I can't figure out what it is. I've seen it in a bunch of different videos but it's never a build guide video. Thanks
I don't have a build guide or link for my exact build, but what I'm doing was mostly inspired by these two builds: maxroll.gg/poe2/build-guides/ice-strike-invoker-build-guide and mobalytics.gg/poe-2/profile/4f673d63-ff52-4fde-92fa-9a06979ff8a0/builds/ea9bbe9b-5320-45d0-b957-9efeafcf76ab
My skill gems are closer to the 2nd, but I'm not using Blink - I'm using Ghost Dance like in the 1st instead, and my skill tree is closer to the 1st too. The only real gear requirement is a body armor with at least 1060 evasion and 386 energy shield (as mentioned in the first link) as this is what gets you to the 235 Spirit (Through Invoker's "Lead Me Through Grace" skill) needed for all of those Spirit Gem Buffs.
ty man, learned a lot.. thats help me with expedition
is the boss more likely to spawn when a specific group is on the map? like the "knights of the sun" or "orderof the chalice"?
I don't know for certain if that influences it, but two of mine were Order of the Chalice, and one was Druid of the Broken Circle
I was only running breaches and sanctum, got bored at lvl 90, now time to abuse expeditions. Thx for guide
Haha no problem, have fun!
Great guide, thanks
Great video, maybe mention the exclusive drops of the boss and their value, if there are any!
Good call, I'll try and look up drops when I do the Delirium and Ritual videos so I can include that info as well
My guy, nice video! Are there any good unique drops from Olroth?
Thanks! There are a couple notable drops, I forgot to mention them in the video, but they are in the pinned comment :)
he drops something fancy? is it point to keep fighting him aside of fill that tree points?
He has 2 really valuable potential drops - Heroic Tragedy Timeless Jewel (worth roughly 20 div currently) and Olroth's Resolve Ultimate Life Flask (worth 35-40 div currently)
Is the expedition boss a random appearance? Ive done maybe 4-5 logbooks and Ive never seen that icon
Yes, it's supposedly a 20% chance
@@BluPhoenix Sounds reasonable!
Hey Blue, thanks for the great guide dude. Any chance of a link to your build and set up? Thank you.
I don't have one of my exact build, but what I'm doing is somewhere between this: maxroll.gg/poe2/build-guides/ice-strike-invoker-build-guide and mobalytics.gg/poe-2/profile/4f673d63-ff52-4fde-92fa-9a06979ff8a0/builds/ea9bbe9b-5320-45d0-b957-9efeafcf76ab

I used those as rough ideas/guides to get started and then kinda played around from there with what felt right with my gear and playstyle. I'm not a professional though, so both of those are probably technically better builds than mine
@BluPhoenix Thanks for replying! Will look at it.
@BluPhoenix so basically the only thing is that we can use a 78 logbook after the first fight right?
@@rotony1 that's the only thing that I know for sure and have seen it level that up to 79 to multiple times. It's possible there's more to it, and maybe with +3 or +4 it can go farther, but yes the only thing I'm completely sure of is that 78 books work after the first fight and skill point spent.
If you die during a logbook expedition do you need another logbook to try again?
@@Ceecee384 I'm like 95% sure you do, they function similar to other maps, you get 6 portals to the Expedition map, but those are intended for trips back and forth for loot or if you get disconnected or logout. Dying I believe would remove them, and thus your access to it. I actually haven't died within one yet though, so I can't say with 100% certainty, but I'm pretty sure. Maybe someone else can confirm.
great guide, i have a 93 and a 88 and havent done much expeditions yet😂
Thanks! They're pretty fun, and a nice change up from some of the others!
Bonus tip: To avoid being surprised (i.e. one-shot) after an Expedition, pay attention to the Expedition NPC. They will ALWAYS have a voiceline trigger when no monsters are left, and it will show up in the chatbox as well.
How do you get expedition(or any other league mechanic) atlas points though?
Great Guide my guy!
Thanks, glad it helped!
how to increase the detonate area ?
There's a logbook modifier that increases explosive range. And then there's also a passive tree node that increases the size by like 150% but that one limits you to a single explosive, so I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise I don't think you can increase the size
@BluPhoenix thx for the answer - there's a way to increase logbook color?
Didn't know about the red flags. I killed the boss 1 time and it dropped that frozen shield, can't remember the name. Good video, man, thanks!
That's the #1 thing that keeps coming up in the comments, the flags, seems like GGG needs to better explain that in gama haha, but thank you, glad it helped!
@BluPhoenix Yeah, there were no tutorials in the game, at least for me. They suck at explaining stuff
What an amazing guide!
Great explanation thanks ! Rituals next ?
Delirium will likely come next, and then Ritual. If I happen to get lucky on the item for the Ritual boss then that may change, but right now I'm thinking it will be Delirium first.
@ I’ve watched all your videos about endgame trees-they’re really good. Looking forward to the next one, keep it up!
@@Zoplopito Thanks, I appreciate the support!
This changes everything.
How many logbooks did it take you to find a boss on average?
I believe it's supposed to be about a 20% chance. Personally, I think I've been through almost 20 logbooks and found him 3 times so far. The first one took me 7 or 8, then I found 2 more within like 5, and I've went through a few since without finding any.
How do I gain access to this? I already finished all the acts. Do I need a particular relic?
Do you mean to get access to the Atlas and endgame systems? After you complete Acts 1-3 the 2nd time (on Cruel difficulty) you should have a quest that takes you there.
@BluPhoenix yes, thank you! I finally figured it out. I needed waystones lol
How do You gain access to those sides of the map tree?
Do you just mean the individual skill trees? Generally speaking you get 2 points for completing each individual systems pinnacle boss, and then 2 more for doing it at each higher difficulty level, and that difficulty level increase coming from spending the points in that tree. So you kill them, get 2 points, spend the points to increase the difficulty, kill them again, get 2 more points, spend those two points, etc
@BluPhoenix and how do You find the pinnacle bosses for the first time?
Do the logbook need to be increased in level after you've killed the boss for him to spawn again? I've killed him twice, do the area level need to be 81 for me to get the next set of points?
No, the Logbook Area Level (once you open it) just needs to be 79+ each time. My 2nd and 3rd kills were level 78 logbooks that turned to level 79 area level when I entered them from the +1 difficulty nodes on the passive tree. So it seems you just need to be sure you spend the points in the passive tree to get the +1 difficulty, and that when you enter the logbook expedition map it's 79 or higher.
I've done 20+ logbooks level 79+, boss icon hasn't appeared once...
Man, that's rough... the boss is supposedly around a 20% chance per logbook so it's possible you just got unlucky. My first one came after like 7 logbooks and then I found 2 more within the next 5.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THANK YOU
🤣🤣 You're welcome!
How much dps do i need to take down pinacle boss? I am doing 82 boss maps but i die sometimes
@@coskngnc no problem! As far as I know it's random, supposedly around a 20% chance
Need rarity?
really good video, this is a general question, i will really appreciate is some one help me out to understand, how u get points for the difference type of events, i have been doing all kind of different activities, and the only points I got so far where from killing bosses, nothing from ritual, breach or expedition
Nice guide thanks
Thanks, glad it helped!
Great Guide... thanks. l
Glad you found it helpful!
Goodluck!
