Finally realized after watching this video why playing Tactics in Tear is good. You can use it to steal you opponent's King of the Swamp to get Rulk on the board so you don't have to play it yourself!
I feel like regular people such as myself are constantly trying to give Tear a proper funeral but then you have people like Jesse Kotton who cry so much at the funeral that Tear just nonchalantly walks out of the coffin.
This just goes to show you how powerful tear really is. Any other deck would have collapsed under the weight of these bans, but Tear went from being the most powerful deck in the game to being merely one of the most powerful decks in the game.
everyone in the comments is marvelling at how resilient Tear is when realistically, were it not for Arise-Heart, Tear would've been tier 1 even post the Feb 2023 list

Guess that is what happens when you don’t give an archetype a restriction and then try to redesign an old set of anime cards into something beyond broken for this game
@@8o.do28h-1 i see many top placements for the deck still in the OCG Tournaments with Ishizu Kash Tear or Danger Tear for example. The representation isnt high anymore but the players brewing with the Deck still make a strong case for the Archetype ^^
@@turtlesfan44 It's a combination of the cards being broken, but also Tear players being really creative with their (slowly shrinking) engine. When it was tier 1 in the OCG, there were like 13 Tear variants. People all had different ideas for the deck, and we're teching in so many wacky side options. It's why it's my favorite deck. You never see this level of variety with any other deck.
I bought this deck immediately after people said Tearlaments got murdered and it became my second favorite deck ever because of its playstyle. I even made the deck in master duel when it came out, just to see the power this deck had before being "murdered", but I ended up prefering its current TCG state's playstyle. I think as it is right know it's the right combination of bricky and consistent. I guess every good thing must come to an end since if it sees competitive play again Konami will strike it down because they don't want people to play old decks. They want money.
The shufflers are one thing, but how in the blue hell did the Ishizu millers ever made it past the testing phase is something I’ll never understand. Edit: Since it keeps getting said, obviously I’m not expecting Konami to text cards like a factory does cars. But I would imagine there’s some kind of oversight when cards are designed with an intended use. Then players spending more time than the designers look for ways to break cards with potential, like how people still look at Obedience Schooled to see if there’s new beast support for it. My question was how Konami could design a mill 5 and think it would be fine since there are several mill cards banned or limited i.e. Foolish Burial and Lavaval Chain
dont forget that there are cards which still says - you oponent cannot play the game - Naturia against any pure spell based decks like purelly and skystriker, dimension barrier against "pure archetype extra deck" - like pure xyz archetype, or just pendulum
Thing of note, the link monsters in unchained dont trigger the tear names as its not sending them to grave via card effect, so unchained has that over the deck
@stormextreme3970 no the ruling is they're sent to graveyard for a summon, not via card effect. If you're unsure on the ruling, you can even try it in master duel, it works the same way there
Not just that, you can also play tech cards like Grapha and Caliga. Activating Tear Kash or Havnis and dropping Caliga on my opponent's turn 1 is my new favorite pastime lmao

Because when you have an archetype that rewards you for going into the GY, can play on the opponent’s turn, and more importantly have access to multiple lines thanks to ZERO locks whatsoever then you get this kind of crap where you have to heavily hit the deck or your T0
Well it isn't good. The lists are super inconsistent and RoTk does use local results sometimes. People just want to play tear so they will. They won't stop til they ban Schieren and Merlii but they might just quit the game at that point
We're gonna end up getting kelbek and Agido banned from the TCG if we keep cooking with this deck. It's probably for the best they've always been a little bit completely broken lol
Time for folks to realize that sometimes a deck in a slightly neutered state can be just as fun if not more than at full power. I didn't get into Inzektors for example u til after the limits but the deck was still crazy and fun back then.

There's way too much generic gunk that works with the gameplan for them to die, you literally need to ban every mill card stronger than Needlebug Nest for them to finally die.
He mentioned on stream that the testing he did with the Horus stuff just didn’t yield the same results as pure. Partially due to lack of chaos ruler being the second 8 on your field. I think
I heckin' love Tear. Watching this deck go off again after the end of Kashtira format sparks the same joy in my heart as seeing a rainbow after a storm.
One nice thing about Tearlament being one of the best decks: It's a really fun deck to play, even when you're not that skilled with it. The versatility of it makes Tear a deck I love to see as a highly playable deck.

Not to mention you can do this neat trick where you can mill 4, and summon diviner send agido to mill a total of 9 cards or you can activate tear kash grave effect, summon tear kash and also get 9 cards milled. Granted you have to mill both cards, but that’s why I run three of them.
mbt, when you mill malicious you dont immediately use its effect. You use with it with a tear name into dangerous, then discard for dangerous send malicious, then banish malicious for malicious, make beatrice. Its a tear fuse straight into beatrice, not a one-off extender that occasionally makes beatrice with garura. Also watching your only target to fuse with after milling 15 cards being mudragon just straight up hurts, king of the swamp is just so necessary its not even funny. I have no idea what jesse was thinking, it unbricks cards you want to put in the grave, it puts a water/aqua/that can be any fusion name, enabling grapha and rulk which are just so good, it gives you a board breaker in the sense of guardian chimera which can so easily be chain blocked and you get poly targetting protection. In some cases you discard kots for poly, then later in your turn make rulkaloss, then you can poly rulkaloss with another tear name to make dragostapellia, rulkaloss comes back then you can trigger your other tear name. Ive used poly for just hard fusing dangerous or shekinaga in awkward hands, its amazing in the hand as an extender and the deck as a mill target. Also diviner is cheeks, a normal summon mill5 doesn't guarantee combo and it conflicts with reinoheart, the best your getting is like a search of sulliek or scream, your not milling a tear name and a card to fuse with it very often, I can see it at 1 maybe 2 to be reborned off cross-sheep to send millers or shufflers but it doesnt feel worth it with how tight the deck is. Also fenrir being a board breaker and also a starter by searching tear kash is bonkers, plus you can play dracossack, make cherubini with tokens, send kots, then if you have an extra body you can link that with cherub for sprind for both grapha/rulk and sprind detatch from dracossack to bounce a card. And lastly, why tf is he playing destrudo?? Theres like a billion grave/hand extenders that dont burn you for half your life points and hes not running a single synchro, which is a bit strange because diviner builds usually run baronne
King of the swamp isn't really necessary, as you said making beatrice is easy as long as you get lucky at least, and with her and a full gy you can pretty much go for anything, she's one of the best cards in the deck as it's the best consistency tool Although if people come prepared for tear from now on having rulkallos access could be worth it as nib prevention, even if it's maybe weaken the board a little bit
as much as i'd like to see this deck migrate out of the spotlight forever, i fear they have the sky striker level of plot armor where, in some capacity they will always be playable in some sense far beyond their expiration date. the year is 2025 and randomly they'll get one of the millers back to 2 or something, just to pick favorites
I like playing horus as Imsety or King Sarc basically is a mill 4, and if you have any ishizu millers, you get more value out of them. On top of that, they are solid interactions with your opponent.
Kings sarcophagus sends as a cost. Imsety is the only one that sends as an effect. I guess does it really matter when mill 4 with zombie vampire is a thing.
I keep wanting to personally try the deck, but I can't justify using resources or money when it's historically the most banned archetype imaginable, so I don't have a real opinion, but I think the dumb copypasta twitch chat meme is funny so that's what I decided to post
Rage and anguish doesnt trigger tear effects when they link using them as it isnt sent by card effect, but using as material for summon. There is a ruling q n a done years ago for sky striker raye not triggering in grave from them
I genuinely feel bad for the deck because its just a bunch of mermaids that used to be happy. They were relatively peaceful, then along came old dickhead himself, Rhinoheart. Such a shame they're the most peaceful but will ultimately require the most hits to be made unplayable.

as much as i'd like to see this deck migrate out of the spotlight forever, i fear they have the sky striker level of plot armor where, in some capacity they will always be playable in some sense far beyond their expiration date.
the year is 2025 and randomly they'll get one of the millers back to 2 or something, just to pick favorites
I like playing horus as Imsety or King Sarc basically is a mill 4, and if you have any ishizu millers, you get more value out of them. On top of that, they are solid interactions with your opponent.
Kings sarcophagus sends as a cost. Imsety is the only one that sends as an effect. I guess does it really matter when mill 4 with zombie vampire is a thing.

Rage and anguish doesnt trigger tear effects when they link using them as it isnt sent by card effect, but using as material for summon. There is a ruling q n a done years ago for sky striker raye not triggering in grave from them

I genuinely feel bad for the deck because its just a bunch of mermaids that used to be happy. They were relatively peaceful, then along came old dickhead himself, Rhinoheart. Such a shame they're the most peaceful but will ultimately require the most hits to be made unplayable.

@@MaliEndz Good for them. Do they cheer when they play against it too? If so, also good for them. I still hate when there's more interruptions than you have cards in hand, attached to things you can't interact with without hard-drawing Crow or Called By or Bystials. All the names being one-ofs just makes it even more annoying and sacky
