My new go-to album if i want to shed a tear (along the lines of Carrie & Lowell). Your comments about her being 32 and having an outlook you don't have yet reminds me of when i listened to Joni Mitchell's Hejira when i was 18 and she was 33: i loved it but could only guess at some of the poetic images she came up with. That album never left my side, full of lyrical and musical wonders to uncover through the years.
The first track was like an emotional gut punch by Lenker.... the second time was like her holding out her hand to pick us back up and tell us its going to ok .... lol
Third to recommend Julia Holter's latest album, 'Something in the Room She Moves'. A monument in her career. As for this album, Real House is my favourite track due to the raw emotion it displays and the tie-ins with my own life. It's so tangible I can breathe the air that this song inhabits. It's a little scary. And the rest of the album is just as beautifully written and performed. Amazing album, loved watching!
Just like luther I also recommend julia holter's new album These two have been the big release waits for me and both delivered so hard honestly Its like a more jazzier and avant garde version of the same singer songwriter folky stuff
