Excellent video I ordered the same ones from Amazon who else you can get ones with the switch or not a little cheaper...But I went for the stock look...this video on point thxs.
Slightly related to lights, what’s the best/easiest way to fix foggy plastic on headlights so I can see the road again in my 2000 Mazda with its outdated, dim light bulbs
That's correct. I used the original wiring that went to the stock fog lights. Therefore, as long as your wiring from the fuse block to the lights is still good (and the switch itself isn't faulty) then the original switch will work.
Very informative video. However, I am not positive the recommended style sold on Amazon are actually for use in fog. Fog lamps must shine straight ahead and low. If not, the light will reflect back and not penetrate the fog. That is the reason factory installed fog lamps are wired to operate only on low beam and do not function on high beam. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong/mistaken/mis-informed. Thank you.
I don’t think you are wrong. The lights we used aren’t factory fog light replacements. They are designed for multiple different use cases, but one of those use cases is as fog lights. That’s why the lights come with those angle adjusting brackets, so that you can get them at the proper angle for fog.
Re used stock brackets it seemed to mount alot easier & assembled the whole setup at once ..besides the light angle....

So you were able to use the original light switch inside to turn it on?
