Thank you. I’m gettin there. Got a ways to go. With my current XJ, I want to keep it stock.. factory look, factory parts and period correct.. now, if I get another Jeep, that may go in a different direction. Thanks for the comment!
I take it yours did not have the factory relays wired for fogs? It looks like I can just run a wire from the factory headlight harness to my fogs, swap in 1or2 factory relays in the factory fust box location (pins are already there) and swap the switch and I am done. Model year 2000 limited.
Yes...the only thing I had factory was the plug for the switch..everything else I ran as a "stand alone" set up with relays and a fuse tap..lights still work as of November 2023...
Nice video I'm wanting to do this also but I'm wanting my fog lights to operate like factory ones do meaning they only come with the marker lights or low beams. Do you know where a good power source to the switch would be?
Did you ever figure this out? I’m guess that 12V that he ran out the switch would go elsewhere. Maybe run it to the side marker or tap in on the headlight switch.
So where do the wires go originally that are already wired to the connector for the switch? Were they not going to the fuse block? I may have missed where you covered this in the video.
Great Video. I just found your channel and subbed. I've got a ton of XJ repair and mod videos also. Also, I have problems with these reproduction fog lights filling with water.
Yes. I believe all Jeep Cherokee’s come wired with the 2 wires that will illuminate the switch when you turn on headlights. But you will need to wire the rest of the Power wires for the lights.
Luis Galarza Cut the blue wire and use16 gauge wire and a butt connector. Run it up under the dash, through the grommet, along the firewall, inner fender to the relay. You will attach this wire using a spade connectors to terminal 85 on the relay.
I never understood why Jeep put the fog lights on the bottom on 97+ models they always end up the first thing to get bashed and busted off when your wheeling.
You sir! You Good! Helped me a lot, not exact the same problem but in the exact same place. I was looking for the short for a while. Thank you.
Great video mate, a lot of people would just take them out, but I like the factory look

Just Jeep It The Jeep Shop nice, I really appreciate the way you are going with that, I think some people just go to far
What year and trim is your Jeep Cherokee?
That jeep factory look… I miss my 86 with that chrome grill…
Probably the best looking grill for the XJ.
@@JustJeep_It it was awesome too because as I recall she didn’t have the black bumper things… just chrome….
what gauge is your inline fuse? Also how did you adapt to the plug on the fog lights, did you buy a connector and wire it or did you just hardline it?

I know the 85/86 mustangs had this company as a supplier as well.
I have the same Fog lights. Which wire on the lights is the hot? Thanks

Looking for oem style wiring set up. But not hot all time.
You could tap a keyed power fuse. I just have it to a hot all the time fuse.

Honestly I don’t remember. Lol.
@@JustJeep_It alrighty then lol
@@trentmoseley they probably were linked to the fuse box. You could put a test light on it and see if you get 12 volts.
You should have shown how to remove the switch panel.

@@JustJeep_It HI, tHANK YOU!!! ALL WORKING NOW
How did you pop out the blank ?
Did you cut out the hole for the switch or did you pop it out somehow ? I can’t seem to pop out the hole
@@boostedrt5631 I got a 3 way switch plate from the u pull. eBay has a bunch listed too. Had the fog light switch already in it.

I totally agree. It’s not the best place for them. The original spot was way better.
