    Friends,
This is a Math video. This is our fifteenth webisode (WB-15) on "Series 10 - Circles".
In this video, we will learm what is meant by angle subtended by an arc at the center of the circle. This is a very important concept to learn and understand. In the next few videos, we will explore many theorems wherein we will use this term - "angle subtended by an arc at the center of the circle" - extensively.
This video is suited for class-9 (Class-IX) or grade-9 kids.
    Cheers,
    Friends at Rising Pearl

    • @dostotussigreatho

      Hi Yatharth,
If AB is diameter, both arcs - minor arc and major - will be the same. Both will be = (πr^2)/2.
If AB is not a diameter, the greater part of circumference will be major arc and the smaller one will be minor arc. Hope this helps.

I mean that in theorems we take angle subtended by major arc on circumference, I what to ask whether angle subtended by major arc could be on Centre or it will be always on circumference??

    • @dostotussigreatho
      @dostotussigreatho  8 лет назад

      Hi Talha,
Let me try and explain this way. If we take any two points ON a circle, we get 2 arcs - a major arc and a minor arc.
      [ ruclips.net/video/X7EDnEFu86w/видео.html ]
Now if we take any OTHER point (third point) outside the arc - this point can be ON the circle (outside the arc) or the center of the circle, the arc will subtend a certain angle at that point. The angle formed by the arc at this third point is called angle subtended by that arc at that point. Yes, third point can be anywhere on the circumference of the circle (outside the arc) as well as any other point in the circle (like center of the circle).
With this in mind, watch the video one more time and particularly pay attention from 7:30 onward. Hope this helps.
      Cheers,

      Sorry to interrupt sir
But agar hum basically subtend ka meaning dhekhe toh iska matlab hota hai " ke saamne"
So jaise agar hume ek statement de rakhi ho, ki,
Angle subtended by an arc at centre O, then hum isko aise samaj sakte hai, ki,
Arc ke saame 'O' par angle bann raha hai,,,,
