Awesome video and very different from the other ADV 160 videos I’ve seen which mostly regurgitate superficial tech fluff that every other video does. I’d personally love to know more about the technical differences between a scooter and motorcycle - especially in terms of reliability and simplicity. Digging a bit about CVTs has been interesting and I was really surprised to find out it’s actually mechanically simpler than a manual transmission of a motorcycle - at least i think it is. I really don’t know much about repairing bikes or cars, but I’m going to definitely pick up this manual if I purchase the 160 (wonder if they sell an ebook version). I’m actually pondering about how complicated and expensive it would be to replace the colored plastic panels available on USA scooters with my preferred colored panels available outside of the USA (I like the pearl white). One interesting side note - having never ridden a motorcycle or scooter in the USA, and heard everyone calling this bike small, I decided to figure out the specs of the scooter I am renting in Taiwan which I thought was fairly big. I turns out I’m riding a 125cc scooter with a 785mm seat (a touch higher than the 160 seat which is at 780mm). I learned that it shouldn’t be a problem for me to ride on the 160 with a seat that high, and that bikes in the USA are way bigger than I thought - because the 125cc scooter is the biggest and heaviest motorbike/scooter I’ve ever ridden - and though I feel it is a heavy bike, it’s weighs only about 230lbs (not sure dry or wet)! I need to recalibrate my mind when I come back because I think I’ve always compared motorcycles and scooters to bicycles, and from that perspective - 300 lbs is heavy, and 160cc is serious power :D I look forward to seeing more of your technical videos on this bike. Thanks for sharing it.

Guess when you get a new bike you should park it on a light color carpet for first 2000 miles lol, seems like a good idea! Sure your wife will love the idea lol!

Only BBISHOPPCM would buy a brand new motorbike, and then immediately buy the service manual for it.

…yeah, and you’d tear the entire thing apart, reverse engineer it, and make an hour-long video on the history of timing chain guides. You know I’m right. 😬
