Another thing you can do regularly to improve the looks of a used dart board is take a shoe brush and brush the playing surface. It knocks off a lot of the white specks, just make sure it’s a clean brush without shoe polish on it.
Clear sikcone my new dart board friend i brought decent dart board it lasted 6 to 7 weeks i then started using clear silicone and that dart board last 7 months pain doing repairs waiting on it drying but turned out cheeper in long run
I have at least ten year old AMF board that has always hung outside. It just gets sprayed once or twice a week with water that's has a few drops of all purpose cleaner in it. It's a little dingy but minimal bounce outs and has lost no sisal. Wish I could find another.
did this for years on my blade 4 and in fairness it still looks great although i dont shoot at it anymore...havent had a need to do it on my glad 3 yet. I did each section as I rotate away from it....note dont colour the red unless you're going to do all of them as the sharpie red is not even close to the red of the board and dont go nuts plucking the sisal or the section will be too loose with the added damage from use
Acrylic paint pens (waterbased).they cover pretty much any surface type.good job Jack..I've used sharpie b4 but I just like paint pens better .luv the channel. Keep up the good work
Well, I really don't mind the looks of an old board, it's the performance with more bounce outs and the Darts not sticking in the board as deeply as they're supposed to. I thought you were to deliver a solution to this, but the look really isn't hard to fix... Still enjoy your content though, keep it up!
thats more of a carpet dart board, normally the wood ones tend to do that, I have a board which I've had for atleast 5 years which is wood and they don't stick to the board, I think probably using a wood filler and painting it over is probably for the best, and the price for them is just insane really, so its probably best to just fix it yourself lol
Sisal is a natural fibre that comes from the sisal (agave) plant. It's not hair and never has been. Usually comes from warmer climate countries in south America and Africa.
My board's bull has worn out. Dart falls out of it quite often. Very annoying when I hit the bull but dart drops off. Thinking about to put some glue on it or something. Other parts are in good shape. Winmau Blade 5.
Nice tips. I just bought my first dart board from a charity shop and it looks like it's been in a pub or smoky place for years, the white bits are yellowed and darkened.. So any more tips welcome here!
I cut my finger while hanging a board. Got blood on the white sections. Trying to clean it just smudged and pushed it in deeper. Any idea's on how to refinish the white sections?
@@ryangatien6615 I haven't used anything. thats why I asked. You say acrylic latex works without breaking bristles I'll try. I got a new board when I bled all over the one. It's still in good shape. But the bloody one is brand new except blood stained sitting in the box. When the one I'm using wears out I'll give the acrylic latex a shot. I'm already not using it so even if I destroy it, it's no biggie. Thanks
With the sisal fibers that are sticking out here and there you shouldn't pluck them out. You should get a small torch lighter and quickly burn the sisal sticking out and quickly pat it off when burned off just incase you wouldn't want the whole hoard to catch fire.
Talk about set a challenge; I've got a 1978 Winmau board that I replaced 2 weeks ago with a blade 5. I sense I may run out of life restoring that, nevermind time left in quarantine! 🤣

Don't pull the white sisal out. Just burn them with a lighter. ps with a new board I will rotate every black/red segment then change to white/green. Takes an hour to get used to the change in colour but no problem. then switch back. Make your board last twice as long.
I found that unicorn boards tend to cut up more than other brands. Even just after a few legs of the pros playing the twenty and treble section starts to deteriorate.
Sounds weird, but i kind of like to see how the board is getting older and older🙈😁 every Board looks different, when u play 6 months on it, or so... my Blade 5 already is damaged a bit🎯😂 still nice Idea👍 hope i can play u on Lidarts someday :) (Zitrone is my nick there)

Smart, stretching it out to 10:00.

Because people doing slightly annoying things to make money isn’t admirable

Used a red Sharpie on my Blade 5 and it came out too dark. Wouldn't recommend.

Been doing this for ages on my pub board
hahahahhahah
Buy a new one ffs only £30 sure the darts team would spend that in 15 minutes
Joe Hill if that’s the case we would be buying one everyweek
How many sharpies does it takes for the whole board??
Around a week or so I checked in and he was almost on 12k now almost 14 keep up the great work jack
Will it colour the points black?

I’ve had my dart board for 1 year and a few months and it’s all puffing out, and a wire has fallen out, guessing there’s no sorting it out
I wonder if a fabric dye would work wonders. After all, the dart board is made out of natural fibers.
With the sisal fibers that are sticking out here and there you shouldn't pluck them out.

Exactly, pulling them out eventually barrels will be buried.
Best thing to use is kids washable paint or finger paints cos it's easy to get off the wires.

You could say that about every video I've uploaded 😂

It's better to burn the white threads or whatever you call them with a lighter.
What about soaking it in water would that help the condition of the board?
No way
The sisal will swell and potentially pull away from the composite back board
Try some sandpaper to smooth it or something. Idk, fun to try
I don't have the patience for this. I'll just buy a new one.

The fake blur your camera creates makes your videos look naff mate. It would look much better without that effect on.
Yeah I've actually started to get bored of it now, probs wont do it anymore!
I totally agree, at first i thought your camera was broken. Would be higher quality videos without the effect
Sisal is a plant grown in East Africa. Its pronounced Sai-sul. As in rhyming with Hi.
How about the white color?
