    Another brutal loss against the Rams. The Seahawks kept this game closer than the first, but still come away from this game with some many missed chances and lost opportunities. And then there were the NFL refs. WTF. Let's try to make sense of this loss.

    This game shattered my confidence in Waldron. I can't believe how bad the play calling was. Drew comes off the bench and we are calling deep shots on 3rd & 3. Run the damn ball. I'm so done with Waldron.

      im not sure we necessarily called a deep shot. most plays, even shorter pass plays have a deep route built into them. In the case of the drew lock interception, there were options near the flat, he just chose to throw deep cause he saw one on one coverage. unfortunately it was underthrown and got picked

    • @TheFrenchPug

      @@wheeler116 There were not closer receivers open. They were all covered. There was even one play with a perfect camera angle earlier in the game where Waldron called for deep routes and you could see nobody was open short or long and Geno had to take the sack. Just pure stupidity by Waldron.

    This hit the nail on the head. It’s not the talent we have on the field, we have to hold the coaching staff accountable. What’s the point of going into halftime not making the proper adjustments during the game on the offensive side with Waldron. This loss isn’t on Geno but the staff should wear this one. 130 yards in penalties is inexcusable as well. This 4 game stretch is going to be brutal if we don’t adjust and compete.

    The refs definitely had it out for us but i have 2 major isuses with our team.
    1. Why are we putting our faith in a kicker who had won us some games but had also cost us a few over the past 2 seasons?
    2. Everytime we get the lead on a team , we depend on our defense to not lose it. While our offense struggles once again. The play calling is horrendous. Stop calling plays to not lose the game and put your foot on their throat.

    • @BeWise4Life
      @BeWise4Life 6 месяцев назад +9

      I dunno. Any kicker would have been iffy into the wind from 55. Meyers hit 52,54, and 40 something in this game. He is the reason we were even in it to begin with.
      On the final drive, why isn't the team coached right there to automatically clock it when the helmet went out?
      I'm most bothered by the refs in this game and then secondly by the coaching. The soft zone is driving me crazy and the lack of working the middle and having a good hot route or check down is getting annoying.

    Refs were the stars of the show in this one, but this is a chronic situation, and therefore one you can anticipate. For Riq to go in and perform the exact hands to face interference that he got called for so recently is tantamount to shooting oneself in the foot. Woolen wears the cone of shame. We need to take responsibility, Carroll needs to acknowledge the problem. there's no question this team has talent, but from top to bottom, we're getting out-thunk by other teams. there's no way that flies against sf,dallas, and philly.

  • @TheFrenchPug

    Our coaching is the root cause. Pete does not know what he's doing on the offensive side of the ball. He is unable to help his O.C. to make adjustments and to be honest, I dont think we have what we need in our playbook anyway. Millions of dollars of coaching investment and player investments and we can only kick one FG in the 3rd and 4th qtr. That says it all.

  • @j.davidcox3783
    @j.davidcox3783 6 месяцев назад +2

    I agree 100%. Especially the call against Witherspoon.
    Our biggest weakness is still the oline. Second biggest is lack of aggression. Third is Geno. He's a great QB technically but is a nanosecond slow in his thinking. Can't create. He's at his best executing in the instant he's ready. If he has to go to the third receiver or wing it, his oline has collapsed and he's done. I'd tell him: execute plan A or plan B. After that just run the ball.

    We have plenty of ways we need to grow but I just can't enjoy these games with all of these flags like this. Spoon alone has been tagged several times with some of the most ridiculous flags in big moments that its sour my ability to be happy for how great of a player he is.

    Totally agree with everything. A lot of bad calls this year from refs on pass interference. You would think by now they would have figured this out. Now that Seattle has lost to the Rams twice, I don't see how winning 11 games this year is attainable with the next four games coming up. They would do well to win 10 at this point. No division title is possible at this point without beating the 9ers twice. I'd like to see Kenny McIntosh get some action from this point forward and more surprise blitzes from the D, especially off the edge.

    There is a type of Nepotism in the front office and the Organization. Pete Carrol has far too much power over the franchise not only as coach but executive vice president. He is living off past glory and there is no accountability. He is the definition of a stubborn narcissist. He regularly spouts excuses for poor play in after game press conferences like it's going out of style. There is a better chance he offers to give himself a raise than step down even if it is beneficial for the future of the team. There are no adjustments being made, the play calling lacks any innovation and the Seahawks under Carrol are consistently one of the most undisciplined and penalized teams in football. The formula and product reached it's ceiling years ago.

  • @trxe420
    @trxe420 6 месяцев назад

    Think about this logically for a second and take your love for what Pete has done for this franchise out of it, because I will forever be thankful for that myself. Just think about it from an outside perspective for a minute. Here we have a team that Pete knows better than probably any other team in the Rams, we face them twice a year and they have had stability at head coach. On top of that, McVay has barely changed his approach in his entire tenure, only once after losing Gurley and his whole philosophy is to run the same scheme, same formations, with multiple outcomes. So Pete knows exactly what is coming, exactly what to expect from them and he still let it happen. He knows for a fact that our offensive line cannot single block Aaron Donald for example, he knows for a fact that Bobby cannot cover the middle crossing and mesh routes especially in a flood zone or hook routes. Pete still went in there with arrogance thinking we could.
    This is the arrogance he already identified in the press conference where he stated we have to change our approach, but he isn't. We will continue to get the same results with Pete unless we can overcome it with sheer talent like we did with the combination of peak Russel Wilson and LOB. Without Russ and/or the LOB Pete has never won more than 10 games, yet we expect things to be different somehow. I am not buying it, it is time for a new approach, but I am not naive to think we will get it. I know most likely Pete will remain head coach for the next few years.

    Hawks need to shed the Safety contracts. Sign Big Cat to an extension. Clean house of the Pete Carroll regime. Keep Schneider and let him build with a more youthful coach with a more modern take on NFL football. The other thing I wanted to mention is our lack of ability to dictate a football game. We play not to lose rather than imposing our will on our opponents. Like who cares if we give up a big play, at least we can play aggressive and impose some punishment on both sides of the ball.

    Once you're labeled as "the most penalized team", it gives the refs the sense that everything you do is flagable. The blatant false flag fo PI in the end zone was visible for all to see, including the announcers, and yet, no repercussion for refs for missed, bad, or blatantly false calls. The league wants the players to be safe, but when the stipes have the authority to determine the outcome of a game in this fashion, it makes the games pointless. The outcome seems to be decided before the kickoff, and all we can do is play along and hope we score more than the other team. It makes for a seriously tough game to win when the refs hand every call to rhe opposition, especially on 3rd down plays. The league fines players for things that either weren't called during the game, or that they feel were egregious penalties that threaten player safety. It's about damn time the league holds refs to the same standard as the players.

I think thats going to piss off and fire up the team. I bet we come out firing Thursday. 30-23 Seahawks. We can still win the division by sweeping the niners. Horrible play calling in 2nd half especially with Lock. They should have gave Lock an easy throw and catch to get him rolling. Too many 3 and out passing the ball in the second half. Where was McIntosh? He should have got carries or screens or run him out of the backfield as a receiver. When we had K9 and Charbonnett on the field together that was awesome! Shane Waldron definitely needs to be in the hot seat. This soft ass playcalling is becoming more and more of a liability. We may need to look at a well-season offense coordinator (Josh McDaniels) type. This game is so on the coaching staff including Pete Caroll. McVay really did nothing special in this game, so Pete is just as guility for this; moreover, people need to start throwing the book at him at this point. This team is shaping up to be a lottery team that has no discipine at all. No confidence with this team at this point, I don't see them beating a SF, Dallas, Philly, and maybe Pittsburgh at this rate. This team is 50-50 of making the playoffs only because of the NFC is so weak, we definitely be a lottery team if we were in the AFC.

    I normally agree with your takes but on this one I’m gonna disagree. There was plenty of time to win that game. Football 101 in the two minute drill is when you complete a big pass then you spike it and stop the clock. Geno chocked just like he did at the end of the first half in the last game when he took a sack and prevented us from getting a field goal. His situational awareness is extremely poor. It’s a common theme now not an occasional bad moment occurrence.
    I want Geno to be healthy to play these last seven games so everyone can understand truly who Geno really is, a quality back up, quarterback. I don’t think it’s fair to judge Drew lock on a performance where he has zero reps with the starters during practice. I also didn’t like the plays that they put in for him. Why roll him to his left and try and make him throw against his body. Why not roll him to his right then he can use his legs and then he’s in his natural throwing motion. If JSN moves to the open spot in the middle of the zone, that’s a huge completion. I put that on Jason more than I put that on Drew because he put it away from where the defender was and the receiver didn’t move into the correct spot.
    Also poor poor clock management in the first half by the Seattle coaching staff . Why call the time out on the first down if you’re not gonna call it on second down. We could’ve got the ball back with about 50 seconds left if it actually called the time out properly rams to run and eat up all the clock and take a field gold instead of letting them pass for a touchdown. And undisciplined play is a common theme with Pete Carroll coach teams. We are number one in the league as the most penalized team. When Leonard Williams jumped up sides and came off the field, he didn’t even look Pete in the face. Do they not have respect for him?
