I bought a set of Toyo Open Country R/T 33 x12.50 from these guys in 2017. I rotate on the reg and have 72000 miles on them. Still plenty of tread. I will say they stick to the road well and have no issues in the mud, sand, or rain (no snow in FL). They are on a 2014 GMC 1500 Z71. I tow pretty regularly a couple different small boats. I’m about to buy another set as they seem to be dry rotting on some of the edges. I’m no tire expert, but I have owned plenty of much lesser tires. IMHO I will be hard pressed to buy any other tire for my trucks. Ill be glad to answer any questions regarding my ownership of these tires.

I have the Nitto Ridge grapplers and am very pleased...actually on my second set...wanted to try the Toyo's when time comes up..but after the video Ill just order the Nitto's again. BTW, I haul trailers on to a job site and find these Ridge grapplers work well in the dirt and mud while still being overall quiet on the Hwy on my 15 F350 6" lift 37's.....just not as quiet as the Nitto AT's. They balance out better and overall perform better in every aspect than the AT with better looks. Thanks for the review guys.

Fuller, thank you for whatever you said to Toyo about making the RT more aggressive. Because of the input you gave them I’m sure that’s why they made the RT Trails! I just purchased the RT Trails and couldn’t be more happier with them. The only reason I didn’t buy the RT was because I was looking for a more aggressive sidewall. I was about to buy the Nitto Ridge Grapplers, so glad I waited on the Toyo RT Trails!

I just put Ridge Grapplers on my Tundra (295 70 18) and on my wife's Sequoia (285 55 20) and they look amazing on both. No custom rims or lifts, just stock, but the tires are awesome. As a testimonial, my wife was amazed at how quiet and smooth they ride and said she really likes how they look on her truck. I have had two sets of Terra Grapplers and they served me well and lasted forever, but these bad boys just take it up a notch for sure. Bring on the snow!

The toyo rts perform very well off-road. I also am very pleased with performance in the rain. However, in the snow was absolutely embarrassing. They were like road slicks. However, to be fair, the tires were at about 20% treadlife so it could have been for that. I ended up putting a brand new set of toyos on my 2016 f350. I agree with fuller that they need a more aggressive sidewall.

The cheaper tires like atturo and amp weigh less and cost less due to cheaper tread compounds which leads to premature wear and chopping/feathering. I have a set of Nitti ridge grappler‘s on my truck I hope they continue to make them because that is the only tire I will ever buy for my truck.

@Brandon Keithley I would disagree strongly. I have 40k miles on my 33.5" wildpeak at3w, I got the LT tire with load rating E on a 1500 silverado and have almost 3/4 inch of tread left in them. I tow with them, lot of highway, a lot of gravel, I live in the north so a lot snow, a lot of offroad in farm fields, and I love them. Maybe I got lucky. All I know is im impressed for a crossover mud tire. Rotate and balance every 5 or 6 thousand miles and they keep on rollin!

I’m new to the truck world,Which of these would hold up on gravel roads? I do a lot of camping in the summer months & have to travel down a pretty long gravel road. I really don’t wanna pay a lot of money for a good tire only to destroy it on gravel. & it’ll be a somewhat daily driver so decent rain performance would be a plus. I was looking at the 33x12.5 R18 size wise. I’d prefer a hybrid AT/MT for that aggressive look.

Robert I went out on a limb & tried a set of the Cooper S/T MAXX on my GMC 2500 HD, I was fairly pleased the first 5-10,000 miles,
But after that , not so much,
Started cupping or wearing unevenly- though I rotated often to reduce this affect...
I have gotten decent mileage as I’ve left them on the truck longer than I would have liked, to try to get my money out of them.
I can’t say exactly my mileage but probably 45k or so, maybe more,
But the past 30k miles the ride has become increasingly rough.
      I would not recommend them.

What someone thinks is loud might not be to someone else. Also great on wet roads. Main reason I'm getting another set, the 50k miles and the wet road performance. Hour drive to work and I'm one of those last min guys. Wake up and its pouring, no problem, hit I40 80mph. Country roads holding water 60 with no hydroplane issues.
