Back in the early 70's I saw a old late 30's Plymouth truck. It was rough. Then years later in the 90's I saw it at a local car show restored. Talked to the guy , it was the same truck from that private junkyard . It was so Cool to see it restored. My tip of the hat to all you people that put the time and effort to bring them back.
I'm a long time bicycle + what ever mechanic 40 years i rebuilt my 1st motor a 72 vw 1600 cc at age 14 and in the bicycle biz you are truly doing the lords work, resurrecting these old vehicles its like making an old 1925 hawthorn bike completely work like new, so satisfying and only a few have the tools and or the knowledge to do the work.. thanks guys
Old mech trick: Stuck bolt removal without damage. PB Blaster or other rust dissolver, breaker bar and socket. Soak the stuck head, wiggle it back and forth, don't try immediately to turn it. Idea is to use a little torque to leech the PB down farther and farther, while compressing the now-wet rust lock in the hole. After a bit of wet'N'wiggle, you'll start to get a tiny bit of bolt movement. DON'T GO FOR IT YET. Wiggle it a little loose, then tighten it, then loosen it. Cut the rust lock about half a turn at a time, then tighten it to snug, keeping it wet.
That old International is a good looking body style made truck! I like the design better than the Fords and Chevys of that era. Now time to watch the video! lol Thanks for the videos. May God continue to Bless Y'all ! Phillip Hall
I always see you guys putting in all kinds of stuff in the cylinders to break them loose. I also see you try to force it. You take a chance on breaking the rings. A junkyard told me about 30 years ago to use brake fluid. I've had motors break the same day or overnight. You can also mix trans fluid 50/50 with acetone. That's supposed to be stronger than penetrating oil. Actually just watched the one with the 65 Ford p/u. Just found you guys since they hooked U Tube to TV. I've only unseized motors that sat less than 3 yrs. If you can't find acetone in a hardware store, you can get nail polish remover. Only get the marked 100 percent acetone..
We probably have some engine parts here for that truck. I'm sure somewhere, someone has pulled out a running engine to build a hot rod and has a good one sitting in the corner of their shop gathering dust. All the best to you and the Restored crew
Great old truck, pity about the crack in the cylinder, hope you can find another block for it and move on with rebuilding the engine, would love to see it running and driving again, God bless and keep up the great content.
Evening boys, Those rims (split) work until 65 3/4 ton IHC but dodge as well, and drop center rims are still available in 15 inch. good luck. Also a 265 IHC ebgine should bolt right in.
I bought two of your "Restored" tee shirts, I am a born again "Restored" Christian...I watched your video on why you named the channel Restored... really touched my heart!! I have a soft spot for these old Internationals, I had a 1948 KB8, pretty cool old truck.. Y'all be safe!! God Bless!!!
Awesome video. My Dad always said there's something wrong with the truck if the farmer parked It out in the field. These old trucks aren't able to go to fast and the king pins on the front axle are usually worn out so have sloppy wobbly steering. So they probably were cast off by a new "modern" truck. I have a 49 KB1 and from my experience I can tell you the castings on the green diamond engine were heavy but prone to crack. I don't know if it's age, or mfg processing is the cause, but my block had several cracks. All of my cracks started at a head bolt hole and went all the way to the edge of the block. I think these K/KB series trucks are good looking rigs and it makes me happy to see them worked on. Thank you for the video. I appreciate you.
That engine was terrible I don't see how you guys do all this but you guys are excellent people good people and hard workers you always make everything run pure motivation to me
Watching again, I'm so glad I could come back to watch very good and creative videos on your channel, wish you good health always, add to the progress of the channel, keep your spirits up, keep sharing the goodness of creative ideas that are useful for the good of many people and share information about your activities, Thank you very much my good friends, my brothers, keep the spirit to work and share experiences through videos
Thanks for the GREAT content! Surely the owner would like to save the bones of that old truck! She’s a classic that needs to be back on the road, somehow! Keep it it, you guys and gal are GREAT,
Man, that was a crazy mess of a nest! I'd be wearing some kind of a mask or something, you guys don't want to be inhaling some sort of weird virus like huntavirus or something else!! Always cool to see what you guys are working on, love all the cool saves!
Reminds me of one of the proudest days of my life. I brought home a 1956 F350 with a factory built 7' bed, which looked a lot like that then, except the engine thankfully. I like this truck!
To me that turck is still worth saving. Besides the block being cracked, the rest of the truck is in tack for the most part. If they could get a replacement block, then use as many salvageable parts off the motor, they have something to work with. Great video and very interested in knowing what they want to do with that old truck, I'd buy it in a heart beat. God bless.
Loved these last 2 videos! Thanks for all the hard work. I have a 1947 kb2 that my grandpa gave me when I was a teenager. I’m finally at a stage where I can put some money into it and want to work on it myself. I only have basic knowledge of working on vehicles so these videos are a great help to get me started. Does anyone know of good books or other channels that will help me in this process? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Wyatt you sure have done a good job of bringing your kids up. Whilst I may not meet any of you in this life God willing I'll see you in the next. Bless you and yours from across the pond 🙏👍
That was a great video!! I love the shape of that International and the grille is awesome! The cab lights are so cool and I love the factory wipers that hang down from the top! It seems like it would be a cool body to put on top of a modern 3/4 or 1 ton frame with a diesel like maybe a modern Dodge! I loved seeing Christian in front of the camera for a change! 😁
What a great looking truck. To bad about the block. Windshield is cool, similar to the safari window on a split window vw bus. The cleanup reminded me of the project I have. Great video.
Hello, I liked it better when you cleaned and repaired outside than inside with light and natural air and then you went for a walk with the most emotion
Excellent video RESTORE Crew Wylan :) , Lance :) , Christine :) I say truck be Blood Red color & I hope the owner want get fix and road worthy with other one on parts make 2 in 1 truck maybe ! If not put a modern Chevrolet or Ford motor, transmission plus updated to 12 Volt Negative ground plus updated gauges too and Transmission of owners choice plus foot pedal too and updated axle plus Power Brakes and Steering too ! My ideas I do for sure on this truck and all needs plus paint with seat to! Think that one is made heavy duty on 1 ton by wheels size and lug nuts to me !
Go Christian, it’s nice to see you when you make an appearance. To back this one is too bad. I wonder if you could find a salvageable engine to get this one back on the road.
Shame about the engine guy's.what a beautiful shape truck.love the look of the front of the truck.will sure you guys can work your magic.God bless 🙏 you all.john from England.
Fantastic design to these old Corn Binders. The lines and shapes are really neat. The sheet metal is in unusually good condition, even for a vehicle from your part of the country. It definitely needs to be put back on the road. It would be fantastic if an original engine could be found. International Motors is not known for changing designs all willy-nilly. There could be a good chance that this engine was used for five years or more... Be sure and let us know what happens to this truck...:D
Those old internationals had thick body skins. It was hard to knock a dent in them with a carpenters hammer. Built like a tank. I had a 51 and the clutch pressure plate and brake drums were about 25 percent larger and thicker than a ford or Chevy truck. If you find one hang onto it. 👍
Your comment brought up an interesting thought. I'm a tractor guy first and foremost. Your comment made me wonder why IH would put flatheads in their trucks but only overheads in their tractors?
@@stomper2582 I had a '57 pickup for a couple of years back in the 1980s. One cylinder (# 6 naturally) had bad rings and pumped oil like crazy. Even with an anti-foul plug extension, a clean plug would only last about 40-50 miles. A family friend talked me out of it. He needed a truck to haul firewood out of the boonies, and that was a perfect use for this one. I still miss it...
@@42lookc I think it was a case of "Good Enough'" for the truck engines. They probably purchased their pickup engines from a third company that made appropriate gasoline engines and just plugged them in where needed. They put more thought and design into their tractors....
That's one cool truck. Hopefully a useable block can be found out of one where the body is beyond saving. Great video! God bless you my Brothers in Christ! :)
Yes - sometimes even Brilliant Boys like You get Defeated by Time - ah well it was worth looking to see if You can Repair/Restore the Engine ! Truck looks soooo nice after a Good Wash ! We Hope that this old Truck has a Future and may be Restored to Running Condition in the Future ! We love Your Videos and many Cheers from us in Australia !!!!

At least you caught that cracked block pretty fast before you got in to anything else. 👍🏼
I'm 56, an old geezer. I wanna see these old girls and boys "Restored" No pun intended. 💪🏻

Poor old Green Diamond. I still have the Green Diamond from my '41 KB1. I put a 292 Chevy inline 6 and a powerglide in mine.

Extra large Shop vac would do wonders for clean up
That is a big rats nest , but i think you have forgotten how bad the Opel GT was , i think that was the nastiest one yet !

Ok next, I’m already addicted to seeing you guys pull cars out of the woods and get them running, waiting for the next one.
Fantastic video guys! I hope the owners save this old girl!
I love the K and Kb International trucks. You fellas need a proper breaker bar and an old school air driven impact wrench!
Another great vid lads. Shame that the engine was toast but some you win and some you don't. Keep up the good work.👍
An old school Hemi would look good in that... Love your channel.. God Bless and take care my friends...

IN THE FRONT END SHE LOOKS LIKE A OLD WILLYS DRAG RACER.
Wheels are split ring, not split rim,... the split rims are the true widowmakers.
Waiting patiently for the next episode.
