- With lots of major events going on with my life, including a new camera and a new apartment, I figured it was time for a little update vlog. My new apartment is located in an old building from 1928 with lots of character. Very reasonable rent as well. I also took the opportunity to test out the newest addition to my camera linup: The GoPro Hero4 Session. This camera will effectively replace the TX-20 and Veho MUVI going forward.
Hope you enjoy!

This video was awesome, thanks for sharing this with us.
Your Apartment Is Very Cute With The Stained Glass And A Lot Of Historical Features.🤗✌🏼🌹
lol my bedroom door is wood with 9 panes of glass and a big airspace underneath the door. TALL windows all around. It's a divided house. My unit has character. Especially like my built in columns and bookshelves.
Wonderfully unique space, Jacob. Spacious, without being overly-"homey", if that makes sense. A belated congratulations on your graduation.
Congratulations on the degree and your new job!
Love the mini jersey. LGB!
I am very impressed with this place. Older, to be sure, but you've made it very functional.
Very nice apartment!
I’m usually more interested in UK buildings than American ones but this one is gorgeous. What a great building, lots of wonderful features.
I love it! The floors are very cool and that bonus room is great! The little closet in the front room with the window, I would so take the door off of that and open it up. And I love the balcony. I would be sitting out there with a little BBQ pit all the time. It's a great place, thanks for sharing!
+Ell Ess Glad you enjoyed! Patio furniture is the next thing on my list.
Oh yes, that's going to be nice. It'll be nice to sit outside and watch the world go by and maybe have some tasty food :)
Nice Apartment!
thanks
Old radio looks beautiful there
Wonder if the plumbing has been updated. I know those older places are known for plumbing mishaps.
Nice place!
I have learned that the way you decorate your home is a reflection on your personality I found that to be true.
Nice place.
The place looks great! I also love the fact that this video is in such high quality and HD! Is that something that you can fix in Final Cut Pro, or is it one of the cameras that you have?
+ems318 It's the beauty of cameras that shoot 60 frames per second (versus the traditional 30). Makes the video a lot smoother.
I love your videos😊
Very nice, sorry if im bugging your business, but how much is the monthly rent?
nice place. How is the noise from neighbors? I am looking for a new place and have considered a duplex like that but am concerned an old building will be too noisy.
old prewar buildings have thin walls keep that in mind
Awesome
How much for the Sony. Handy Cam
Nifty
What did you use to film the opening clip showing the other two cameras?
+Ihdc1 My iPhone
your apartment was built in 1928? that's the same year my grandma's house was built in!
What's your new job!?
Nice place! Is it safe to assume that you like older apartment buildings with character considering your last apartment was an older building as well?
+stlweather You're correct (well, as long as they're maintained well). Buildings like this one have a lot more character than modern ones do. St. Louis was a fun place to go apartment hunting since there's thousands of cool vintage apartment buildings to chose from, and the rent is generally very reasonable.
You should had talked about where you park or show it
+pug Williams Forgot to mention that. There's off-street parking behind the building (down the back stairs).
are you getting a 360 camera
Do you plan to use this camera for elevator videos? I prefer cameras without fisheye effects, I prefer your previous cameras. Zooming in, if you can zoom in, it might remove the fisheye effect, or at least reduce it, but I prefer cameras without fisheye effects.
+upanddownadventures I'm planning to primarily use the Handycam for elevators.

I actually did find on the GoPro Hero 3+ that I borrowed from my school a setting to change the field of view. Chaning that was able to remove the fisheye effect, but a camcorder like Jacob's or a small point and shoot style camera like I primarily use are still better for elevators. The GoPro Jacob picked up will definitely be nice for his car wash videos though as a wide field of view is good for those.
How about an INCREASE in volume, can hardly hear.
Cool place.....love unique dwellings.
Nice Place you have!
Stained glass windows? Wow, that's unique. This is a BIG apartment for just one bedroom
+thewildeeper I was surprised how many of the older buildings I looked at had stained glass windows. Guess it was a common feature back then.
I love this apartment. Couple of questions (1) was it a challenge to move furniture with that stairway ?(2) How was the neighborhood as far as crime ?
Dont you live in midtown now?
I think u
He does
Why has there been no new car wash videos recently?
+Rodj A combo of being too busy with work and waiting for my new camera to come in. Check back this Saturday.
Congrats on graduating college and getting a new place!
Nice place with character!
Nice place! I make my living maintaining old apartments like that. They, for the most part, are a lot more interesting and fun than a modern apartment. Unfortunately, my boss doesn't put too much money into our properties that are in challenged areas, so the quality of our spaces varies.
+Jguy365 The vintage apartment is a lot of fun. My landlord has done a great job updating key features over the years (windows, heating/cooling, appliances) while still keeping the charm of the building. My utility bills are higher than I'd like, but other than that, it's been a great experience.
+The Elevator Channel nice apatmet awsome
+The Elevator Channel I see you also go those commy cinck import doors that everyone loves. What happened with the old doors? I would like to see them keep the old doors.
when are the car wash video's going to continue?
+Benji Barnes This Saturday
when is the next car wash
+sean murtagh Check back this Saturday
that's a comfortable apartment.
Are you going to get a new pet for your place
Great place and congratulations on the job!
+jimster586 Thanks!
+The Elevator Channel what's the handycam's full name?
Oh lord, the GoPro Fish-Eye Disease. That's all I see and detect. They're soooo awful.
Sorry.
+georgef551 You can't practically achieve a 170-degree viewing angle without the fisheye effect. It's very useful for certain applications where you need to fit a lot in the frame (like a dash-mounted camera for car washes), but can be annoying when used improperly.

These companies are too cheap to put a corrective lens up front to make fish-eye at least realistic. It can be done. To the extreme, it's how short-throw projectors have a straight image, or it would pincushion as bad as this fish-eyes.
